Unbelievable Trip through Maine

Review for American Independence (formerly Independence) to U.S.A.

I chose this cruise because I live in Florida and felt the weather in Maine was the best weather in the US in summer. Also I love lobster and was excited that it was a big part of the cruise. I was in Maine over 40 years ago and loved it. This cruise covered Bar Harbor, my past destination and so much more. I love the intimacy of American CruiseLine. You actually get to make friends. There are no ...

Unbelievable Trip through Maine

I live in Florida so the opportunity for the perfect summer weather of Maine was a perfect getaway. Lobster on this trip put the icing on the cake! We had a terrific time following our way from Bar Harbor's Cadillac Mountain through small towns of Rockland and Camden ending in Portland. The food, and entertainment were wonderful. There was a terrific speaker on board and a resident ...

QM2 old but still elegant

Review for Queen Mary 2 (QM2) to U.S.A.

Just back from a 2 way transatlantic voyage on QM2. We had been upgraded from deck 5 with a sheltered balcony to deck 11 with a full balcony, which was nice, but unfortunately with inclement weather we got little use. The weather on the way to New York was fine but cold and very windy and on the return was stormy for most of the way till our last day sailing. I enjoyed our cruise, however it ...

Expensive But Not a "Luxury" Cruise

Review for Pearl Mist to U.S.A.

User Avatar

We chose Pearl Seas because its Great Lakes Itinerary had more Canadian ports than other cruise lines. We sailed 11 nights from Toronto to Milwaukee. But buyer beware! The cabins do not at all look like the photos in their online brochure. Carpets and furnishings were faded and worn and very dated in style. The first night on board, our room heating system didn't work. Drawers were so ...

Loved learning about Corps of Discovery Expedition and the river locks

Review for American Empress to U.S.A.

The boat was period décor throughout. Having a little balcony was relaxing. I was on a Road Scholar booked trip so excursions were included and well arranged. Learning about the hardships of the Discovery Expedition, it was surprising that the trip was completed. The food in the main dining room was sumptuous with a variety of choices. I personally opted for the River Grill. It was more ...

Refurbished American West

Review for American West (formerly Queen of the West) to U.S.A.

Currently sailing on the recently refurbished American West. Saw previous negative reviews and was hesitant, but cruise line said it was being fully refurbished. It is lovely! Definitely has the charm of an old-fashioned paddle wheel boat. Carpets, furnishings, furniture, linens, shower curtain… are all very nice. Exceeded our expectations! All staff members have gone above and beyond to meet any ...

Special birthday cruise with Cunard in the middle of May 2022 was the reason for this cruise plus it seemed good value as it was a re positioning journey finally ending in Alaska. We had a good ball cabin kept immaculate by our excellent steward and took dinner at 8.30 (a bit late for us).All meals were excellent as per usual.Vegetables are never cooked enough though making them too inedible for ...

pleasant, easy going cruise

Review for American Empress to U.S.A.

Staff worked very hard to please the guests. The crew continually displayed great enthusiasm and many wore more than one hat--and wore them well. Cabin was comfortable. Dining room food was very good for the most part with enough variety for a week on board. Excursions were somewhat limited due to inclement weather and location. Talented musical entertainers. Our first river cruise after ...

Return to Princess Cruises w/B2B

Review for Ruby Princess to U.S.A.

We booked the May 30th Alaska cruise first, then added the May 23rd Coastal afterward. We occupied Caribe 510 for the Alaska leg, then added the forward leg when cabin E632 became available at a favorable price. Preparation: Six new items had to be addresses by us, having never cruised on a Medallion equip ship. The new software was kludgy with more than a few redo's on our schedule weeks ...
