On the first day we were pampered from the dock to the ship by three very attentive crew members. Our room was clean and neat every day. Room supplies were replenished everyday x2. The excursions as we traveled were well planned and well guided by local residents. Each guide had a passion for the excursion and were very well informed about the history of the area and what was happening now. The staff during the trip was unbelievable in that they were there for us without even asking. The food was great too. It was a 5 star menu from some very dedicated chefs. I tried more things that I have tried in some time and liked every bite. The quiet box provided on the excursion made our experience more enjoyable and information. In the past you had to stand next to the guide to hear what was being said, but not on this trip. If you are comparing cruise lines, chose this one as you will not be disappointed. Read Less

Choose Uniworld to go along with friends. What a great surprise; our expectations were far exceeded. Even after having lived in Germany for 3 years in the early 90s, it was great. Can't believe all the neat places we toured that we had not heard of while living there. It was very different seeing from along the rivers and very different from ocean cruising. We plan to take more river cruises in the future. The staff, food, beverages, tours, onboard entertainment, everything was all phenominal. Can't wait to go with UniWorld again. We suggest an IT person review the on-line process of completing the passenger information form. I am not an expert computer tech but have over 25 years as a user. I thought I had submitted the forms for both my wife and myself back in August but got a late September e-mail from our travel agent UniWorld had not yet received them. Read Less

This was a bucket list fulfilled. The ship was great. Rooms not huge but we spent so little time in them it didn't matter. The good thing about the ship was that it can sail in low and high water where a larger ship may not be able to. Food was fabulous! Service was excellent! Entertainment and activities were excellent. The piano player was really good! The shore excursions were good and had very knowledgeable tour guides. We had massages and that was a great experience too. The person in charge of all activities was very helpful and made sure we had all the information we needed to choose the best option for us. They also took care of our food allergy needs. If an opportunity came up I would not hesitate to go again. It was a wonderful trip and Uniworld made it perfect for us. We had a fabulous time! Read Less

Our travel agent recommended Uniworld Boutique River Cruises to us as a way to travel through Europe enjoying an all inclusive vacation package. We were not disappointed. Our room on the ship was well appointed, cozy, clean and quite. The meals in the restaurant were all outstanding. We enjoyed the fact that there were only 120 passangers making life on board the ship very easy and fun. It seemed much easier to make new friends on this small ship versus a large ocean liner. we enjoyed docking in the middle of towns and cities along the Danube as we had very short walks to central shopping and historic sites. We enjoyed a wide variety of excursions conducted by enthusiastic local guides. The crew was always friendly and focused on making the cruise as special as possible. This was our very first river cruise and given our very positive experience, we plan on doing it again. Nice job Uniworld! Read Less

The cruise was lovely. The ports were of great interest and the natural beauty of the Danube was amazing. We flew in to Prague and spent 2 nights there. It was my favorite city. The music, historic sites and the food were very good. Don't miss the concerts at the Mirror Chapel. The rooftop restaurant at the Prince U Hotel offered a view of the city and the famous clock. It is a 4 hour bus trip from Prague to Nuremberg, the embarkation city. Nuremberg sightseeing was OK. All of the other ports on the Delightful Danube cruise were exceptional. The River Princess is an older ship that is well maintained. The cabins are small. We had the least expensive cabin and I would do that again. We didn't feel the extra expense was worth it since you literally only sleep and shower in there. One of the advantages of Uniworld tours is everything is included: all alcoholic beverages, excursions and gratuities. The food very good with a nice variety of fish, chicken, pasta and beef all themed on the port we were in. The wines served were also from the various countries we were in. The Austrian red was very good. The staff in the restaurants and the bar were friendly and accommodating. They were the best in my cruising experience. The excursions were with well informed guides who gave insight into the national character and historic sights. We did a bike tour along the Danube that was beautiful and not too strenuous. The Cruise Director was ever present to help when needed and took friends to the hospital when they had a URI. This cruise was a great was to see the historic gems of Prague, Vienna, Budapest . Uniworld had consistently excellent reviews for the Castles on the Rhine trip and our experience lived up to all the expectations. We spent a few days in Basel and Lake Luzerne prior to embarkation and it was a very easy city to explore on our own. When we boarded the SS Antoinette, we were impressed with the professionalism and friendliness evoked by all the staff. Our suite was lovely and having a butler who was charming was a very nice added benefit. The dining options were excellent as was every aspect of the service on board. We enjoyed all the excursions with the exception of the Black Forest. We would have preferred to have stayed in Strasbourg to explore that city more. Colmar and Speyer were very lovely cities and the tour guides were well informed. Of course, after departing from Rudesheim, sailing down the Rhine and seeing all the Castles was a highlight. The fact that we had fantastic weather made the trip even better. Disembarkation in Amsterdam went smoothly but unfortunately the weather deteriorated at that point. We toured Amsterdam on our own for two days and found that city somewhat chaotic but the museums were worth it. We definitely plan to take another river cruise in the future - just have to decide which one. Read Less

The whole Uniworld Experience is FIRST CLASS all the way. This is our second Uniworld River Cruise and both experiences with our friends on this line were amazing! I have been on many, many other cruises and I would say this is one of my favorite river cruise lines. I can't say enough good things about our cruise and Uniworld. The meals, drinks and Service is impeccable! The whole staff are wonderful, attentive and friendly. I love the all inclusive portion of the package with Uniworld, no large bills at the end of the cruise. The only charge we incurred was a few optional tours we took besides the ones that were offered daily. The wine every night is different as are the dinners. Not repetitive at all. Something new and always outstanding is served so you don't want to miss a meal or try the wine on Uniworld! PERFECT is what I would say about the whole ship, service and experience on Uniworld! We wanted to see Budapest, Vienna and Prague all in one trip. Uniworld was recommended by friends who travel the world and had also been on Uniworld. They said there was a focus on food and wine - our focus as well! We were not disappointed. Food, wine, service and wonderful staff. The trip was also "all inclusive", which made things so easy. All the tours were good as were the guides. The only extra was an abbey tour and concert in Vienna which was a highlight! The ship looked better in person than the brochure. Rooms were adequate with bathrooms on the smaller side, but all very nice and super clean as were all the areas. All staff were most accommodating, food choices plentiful and wine/snacks continuously offered in all areas. We have been on several cruise ships, and we really liked having only 100+ people. We made some good friends, and enjoyed everyone. We had an extra day in Budapest and also Prague. There is so much to see in both cities. Read Less

I want to start by saying that I take writing reviews seriously. As of this writing I have 18,895 Trip advisor readers that have read my reviews. This is my first review on Cruise critic.. We booked a trip on the Uniworld cruise "Enchanting Danube" in September with two other couples. To say the trip was a disaster is an understatement...but more importantly Uniworld's management handling of the issues shows a total disregard for their passengers. I would NOT recommend using this company. The day we boarded the ship there was a known problem that prevented this ship from proceeding through the first bridge. Had we been informed that there was a possibility that this ship would never make the first scheduled stop or any stops for that matter, we could have made other arrangements and quite possibly cancel and reschedule our trip. The boat's management poorly communicated in the first few days and developed solutions that either required sitting on a bus tour for over two hours or sitting on the stationary boat. For those of you who are not familiar with a Uniworld cruise, there is nothing to do when sitting on the boat during the day. The boat management seemed clueless as to what to do. One day all passengers we ordered to stay on the boat. We were shocked that the management team did not try to offer something to entertain the passengers...wine tasting, bringing additional massage therapists as the one therapist was booked everyday, music on the deck, cooking class etc. After a few days, Uniworld realized that they could not proceed with the cruise. They called a meeting at 6PM and informed the passengers that they would have to disembark by 8:30 AM the following morning to begin a bus tour. Everyone had to pack that night and wake up early to leave the ship. A member of our party gets sick when traveling on a bus which is why we chose to do a river cruise in the first place. We could not agree to do the bus tour. We demanded that Uniworld find us a car service to take us to Prague, the last stop on our trip. They reluctantly agreed. We wanted to just go home. To make a long story short, Uniworld did not provide a rivercruise...they provided a bus tour. They knew of these issues when we boarded the boat and did not adequately communicate with the passengers. We never had a river cruise. Then when complaints arose, they sent a note stating."we have offered each guest a 50% per person refund of the cruise base fare (less all discounts), the category upgrade (if applicable), and port taxes, as well as a Future Cruise Credit of 50% off of the base cruise fare and category upgrade (subject to availability and excluding suites) in our 2016, 2017 or 2018 sailing seasons." On a $24K trip we received $7,200 for our troubles. Our travel agent and I reached out to the President of Uniworld with no adequate resolution. After 45 days of getting the run around I give up. I paid for a river cruse and was offered a bus tour that we could not do because a member of our party gets sick on buses. Some additional information, I would not recommend a Uniworld tour unless you are in your late 70's or early 80's. After dinner entertainment is like Bill Murray imitating a lounge singer on Saturday night live. Most people were sleeping by 9:30. I think this says it all. BEWARE!!!!! Read Less

Uniworld was recommended by some very discriminating friends with high expectations of their vacation experiences, who had nothing but great things to say. Every aspect of the cruise was wonderful. From the moment we were picked up, the entire experience was smooth and easy. Everyone that works on the ship, from cabin attendants to dining room staff to front desk, provided excellent service. They truly seemed focused on helping us get the most out of our trip. It is apparent that Uniworld has very high standards and excellent training to assure all Associates meet those standards. The only real surprise to me what that when docked in port, river ships are often stacked up and docked to each other. So you may have to walk through another ship to get to your own, or passengers from other ships may walk through yours. Another result is that you may have a ship nearly against your cabin window. So if you want natural light when in port you may have to go on deck, but once you know what to expect it's no problem. When sailing you can open your window and enjoy the view, but we found we were rarely in our cabin except to sleep. We extended our stay in Amsterdam which was a lot of fun. There were tours in the mornings only, which gave us lots of time to explore on our own too. We can't wait until our next Uniworld cruise! Read Less
