Great trip of Norway and Iceland

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Star

This was a return to cruising after a few years, and it certainly won't be as long before the next! Cruised on the Star from Tromso to Reykjavik, and loved it. Food: always subjective, but thoroughly enjoyed Versailles MDR and the options offered there. Actually ate there a lot more than anticipated, as the buffet was so rammed at breakfast in particular. The crowdedness of the buffet was ...

SH Diana is stunning

Review for a Arctic Cruise on SH Diana

The experiences I had aboard the SH Diana and with Swan Hellenic were second to none. I have met a LOT of ships in my lifetime as a long-time travel agency owner. This was my first small ship ocean vessel, and I am hooked. The dining was superb, the staff friendly and attentive, and the inclusions were over the top. See what others don't. You will love the "living room". The large screen ...

Fabulous cruise to Svalbard

Review for a Arctic Cruise on SH Vega

Excellent itinerary which went further than many ships, touring both the west and east coasts of the Svalbard archipelago . The ship, SH Vega, was stylish and intimate and provided excellent food, service and comfort. Meals were taken in the dining room or on the outside deck when the weather was suitable. On some occasions there was a delicious barbecue on the deck where we could enjoy both the ...

My sister-in-law is a lecturer on board of your ships. Originally, we were due to go to Wenger Island but for obvious reasons it was cancelled. persuaded by her I decided to come on the alternative trip. The ship was amazing, it had all the facilities you could dream of. The lay out was just perfect. Very cosy, lots of space to isolate yourself if you wished too. The right number of ...

Amazing ship/Poor Company Service

The SH Vega was a lovely, new ship! My cabin couldn't have been more luxurious or more spacious with a King-size bed, an electric fireplace and a very functional bathroom. The food was fabulous and the presentation and variety were top-notch. The crew was friendly, well-trained and did everything they could do to make my trip pleasurable in every way. The zodiac expeditions were well-handled in ...

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Silver Cloud Expedition

We managed to book our cruise/expedition at a very good price due to a late booking, our previous cruise with Scenic Eclipse was cancelled at very short notice. Which was disappointing at the time, but Silverseas have now gained a loyal follower! I can't imagine travel on any other line after the great experience that we had. We were met at Oslo and Tromso by Silverseas agents and ...

Exciting Land of the Polar Bear

I had always wanted to go to Svalbard and hopefully see Polar bears, and this cruise did not disappoint!! We flew from Heathrow to Tromso via Oslo and embarked there. Everything went fairly smoothly despite a rushed change of plane. This is an expedition cruise and not to be confused with normal cruising. We set sail from Tromso in the evening and in the morning landed near North Cape and ...

If you want to experience the Artic, this cruise and cruising is the best way. We went on the 'Land of the Ice Bear' aboard the Serenissima with Noble Caledonia July 2016 The cruise was amazing. Great bunch of passengers and the expedition team lead by Hannah Lawson were 1st class and a wonderful bunch. The crew, mainly Philippinos were equally as good. The service was second to none with ...

Arctic expedition on FRAM: Good (unusual) itinerary and very decent ship experience

We took an "Arctic Islands Expedition" trip on FRAM, sailing from Tromso, Norway on May 13, 2016 and finished at Reykyavik, Iceland on May 22nd. In between we had three Zodiac landings (Bear Island, Hornsund, and Jan Mayan) as well as three port dockings at Ny Alesund, Longyearbyen, and Isofordur, the first two were in Svalbard and the third was in Iceland. The scenery was excellent, this goes ...

More Than Just a Cruise; the Experience of a Lifetime.

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Silver Explorer

The cover of the Silverseas brochure features a polar bear and when you book an Arctic cruise that's what you expect to find.Yes, we were privileged to sight a bear or two, but no we didn’t have crowds of bears queueing up on the deck all hours of the night and day. An Arctic cruise is more about the beauty of nature. The wildlife you meet on the way are a special treat. I would like to ...
