Very disappointing

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

We booked our trip to celebrate my Husbands 60th birthday & paid quite a lot more to have our New York stay with Cunard to avoid any problems with transfers etc! Met by a very uninterested rep at JFK & an over an hour later still stood waiting. Eventually when we asked how much longer we would be here, she took us outside & put us on a minibus that was a complete shed with 3 other couples. Got ...

I booked for 22 days TA East/Channel / Norway/TA West. I also booked Cunard's Hotel/transport package. at a cost of $590 (only $ 390 was for room at Grand Hyatt). I arrived at JFK on time at Terminal 5 (Jet Blue) NO REP and of course NO TRANSPORT. No amount of phoning around produced any results, I was questioned by security because I was "hanging around" so long. I need a wheelchair , ...

Personal Background Information: We are Senior citizens who love to cruise. This was #21. It was the second time on the QM2. The first time was in 2004 and we had a great time. Unfortunately we can't say that this time. This would be the 3rd Cunard experience after having taken the Queen Victoria on an Adriatic cruise in 2011. That was a great cruise. Travel To Port of Embarkation: We had just ...

Mediocre Cruise but exhorbitant price

One of the highlights of travelling transatlantic is arriving into New York's Manhattan Island with the fantastic skyline. Sadly, Cunard decided in order to cut costs they would put in at the very unpicturesque Brooklyn cruise terminal instead. This required a half hour taxi ride to Manhattan, where everyone on the ship clearly wanted to be. They kept the fact they would put in at Brooklyn well ...

Having completed over 30 cruises, I decided to check one more off my bucket list and do a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2. Yes, I had high expectations, I believed the marketing materials based on Cunard's history. But sadly, this line really has nothing to do with that proud history of Cunard and White Star Line, this is about Carnival and cost cutting, I believe. The good: The ship ...

Just arrived in New York after 10 days on QM2. Have sailed on the other Cunard ships many times but first time on QM2. Along with many other reviewers, I found that the ship does not live up to expectations or the Cunard hype. Our Queens Grill suite on deck 9 had a constant vibratation, and several cabins had serious plumbing issues. My father had no water in the wash basin for three days and the ...

Me and my husband have cruised over 60 times. Long and short cruise with many cruise lines from pulmantur to silver seas. This is the time we have been the most disappointed after pulmantur which was a disaster I have to say that we are usually happy with our cruises otherwise we would niot have cruised so often We were expecting this cruise to have one of the best services and food..... Well ...

My husband and I sailed on the QM2 in June of 2014 after a seven week tour of Italy. My husband no longer flies so we decided to use the QM2 as transport back to North America. Unfortunately, that decision was the biggest mistake of our trip. We had taken another cruise ship from Miami to Europe and expected the QM2 to be far superior as we paid 3 times the price for the QM2. How wrong we ...

All that glitters is not gold

My partner and I sailed for the first time (on Cunard) in a Queen's Grill. We cruise only in large suites as we enjoy time away from the masses. Embarkation: As some have mentioned it was a right mess. Not enough staff to take care of the Grills Suite passengers If all those reading this sense entitlement - you are correct. We expected service to match the Grill Suite price tag we paid. Not one ...

This cruise had promise but failed to deliver. I have cruised 15wks with HAL/Princess/Celebrity and now 11 days with Cunard - unfortunately! I am a wheelchair user and on all previous cruises have been offered help in the Buffet 'restaurant' but not on Cunard. The 'pursers' aka Customer services told me that "It is our policy not to help". They would not even carry a tray of food for my wife in ...
