The “New” Crystal Serenity comes to the New World in a trans-Atlantic crossing that began in Britain and ended in Quebec. Are you a past Crystal guest who wants to know: What’s different? What’s new? What’s better, what’s worse? If you don’t feel like reading a long report, then you can settle for a one-sentence summary: WITH VERY FEW EXCEPTIONS THE “NEW” CRYSTAL SERENITY IS AS ...

Best ship experience .... ever

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Quest

We have taken over 70 cruises. In fact that is a guess because we have lost count. We booked this 36 night trans Atlantic some time ago as we are tired of trans Atlantic flights and this itinerary looked very good. We had take two Seabourn cruises in 2022 and had a nice experience. When I learned that Quest was a small ship with around 400 pax, I was a bit concerned as we had been loyal ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

An iconic route of Southampton to New York. We had a princess grill suite. Boarding was easy - we were able to walk past the big queue because we had a princess grill suite and pretty much get straight on the ship. The room was comfortable. We were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine! The bed was so cosy and we slept so well every night. They have UK plugs. The hair dryer isn’t ...

This transatlantic crossing was the second cruise of the "Three Cunard Queens" package we had booked and we were really looking forward to travelling on the world's only operational ocean liner. Departure was from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and was conducted efficiently and our luggage was delivered quite quickly. Sailing out of New York past the Statue of Liberty then under the Verrazzano ...

Fabulous itinerary on the friendliest ship in the Regent family

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We have travelled many times with Regent, we have been on all their ships except for Grandeur. We picked this trip for the itinerary alone and were a little apprehensive having more recently sailed on Splendor and Explorer, that Navigator would seem too small now and a little lacking without the fabulous Pacific Rim or the French restaurant. We need not have worried. What Navigator might lack ...

My wife and I are both in our 60s, and have never cruised before. So please excuse any naïve comments resulting from our lack of experience! We arrive in NYC in two days time, and let me say firstly that we have had a wonderful time. We booked a Britannia Club Balcony stateroom, which includes open dining in the excellent Britannia Club restaurant. Our stateroom was exactly as described, with ...

(Note: The headings in this review will be lines from this old Cunard travel film from the 1950s, "Getting there is half the fun", about a voyage on the original Queen Mary/Queen Elizabeth. Well worth a watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utH65UZ7w_w) Do you need or want to get to Europe or the United States? Does the idea of putting on a tuxedo fill you with excitement? Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

Took our first Regent cruise (a TA, lots of sea days), earlier this month. Just returned this past week. It was a 14-day cruise. Overall, it was very good. Embarkation was less chaotic than most, but still chaotic. We were advised prior to our cruise that the original embarkation time we had been given had been pushed back by an hour and a half because the Coast Guard had to inspect the ship. No ...

My wife and I wanted to do a transatlantic voyage and decided to do it on Seven Seas Voyager. We had previously gone on a 7-day Mediterranean cruise on Voyager in 2018. We noticed significant improvements compared with the 2018 cruise. First, the food is substantially improved in all of the venues. They also have added an Italian restaurant, Sette Mari, and have an excellent afternoon tea ...

I was apprehensive about so many sea days but I quickly fell into a relaxed mode and enjoyed the slow pace. Food was five stars every meal. Crew was above and beyond customer service! Plenty of places for solitude or activity with groups. Chef Gary did pop up lunches in the cafe several days and that was a treat. I’m never seen the head chef so engaging and he was delightful. The pool was tranquil ...
