Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

This was not our first time on board the QM2 and we've sailed also on Queen Elizabeth as well. We are Gold Members and love all things Cunard until this sailing. We first sailed on her in 2012 and were blown away by her grace impeccable pristine flawless style. We boarded the ship to in Brooklyn to find that the Britinnia Balcony cabin to our dismay was rundown. We also found that our Cabin ...

Elegant Ship With Pros and Cons

The Queen Mary 2, as we expected is a beautiful, spacious ship. The amenities offered are wonderful. We took this trip because Crosby Stills and Nash, a 1960s rock group were slated to do 3 concerts onboard. But the lectures offered every day and the Planetarium were bonuses. The shows offered were either great, Mr. Doyle, a Welch entertainer, singer/comic was terrific. The magician was also ...

Oceania Disappointment

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Insignia

While we are not serial cruisers, we have enjoyed cruises on Regent and Celebrity. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the fact that Oceania is advertised as a "premium-luxury" cruise line. While there were no really big things wrong with the cruise, the little things added up so that we would be very hesitant to use this line again. The best thing was that it is a very clean ...

Jacques Pepin would not want to eat on this ship

Until this cruise -- our 6th on Oceania -- we have enthusiastically recommended Oceania as having "the best cuisine at sea". We have always been very impressed with the food selection, quality, preparation, and service in all the food venues on the various Oceania ships. We are sophisticated food lovers and pretty good chefs ourselves. Therefore, we were very disappointed with the food on ...

CRUISE From Southampton to New York, five nights in New York and return crossing to Southampton. EMBARKATION We arrived at Southampton at 12:45pm and were on board and in our cabin by 1:30pm. Excellent. Went to the Kings Court buffet. Plenty of seats available because few passengers yet on board. Poor selection of food. CABIN Starting to look worn, but otherwise well ...

We chose & booked this cruise over a year ago, for the itinerary. We embarked in Montreal which was easy and fast our intent was to check-in and leave to go back and spend more time with our friends. Once on board we found out the safety drill was at 5:00 p.m. That put a crimp in our plans a bit, but the ship was leaving at 11:59 p.m. The first few days and ports, Quebec, Trois-Rivieres ...

What should have been the cruise to beat all others turned into a nightmare as Cunard lost my luggage at the port. The cruise should have been memorable for the lovely cabin and facilities. Unfortunately my main memory will always be the lack of customer care by Cunard, which has been compounded since my return. The speakers were very good as was the afternoon tea service. I was also ...

First Time Out

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Silver Spirit

Simply put: Way over priced for the value received. The service was OUTSTANDING. The wait staff and bar staff were superior. The food was mediocre and too eclectic for our taste. Italian offerings were named right but over-presented. It is not a ship to trans-Atlantic on. Sea days were boring. The weather did not cooperate. We were disappointed that there was no "Plan B" for missing the ...

Appalling, disorganised boarding....if I want a quarter glass of paintstripper prosecco I will sail Celebrity. Front line staff were for the most part very good,, but little effort made to learn customer names. Our Butler was too good for this ship, and was a complete star....Very flexible and accommodating. Our Grand Suite had a very usable, cleverly thought layout, but was let down by a tired ...

First try on Azamara

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Azamara Journey

This was our first time on Azamara although we have cruised almost 20 times. Having said that, I must come clean and admit my favorite line is Seabourn. I also must admit that I compared the two lines and usually found Azamara came up short. I think my biggest problem was in overall service. We quickly learned that we needed to order multiple drinks at the first and usually only opportunity at a ...
