We are Mariner 4 on Holland America but decided to have a change and try the new guy on the block, Viking.
I don’t know how it happened, the airiness of the open spaces, the friendly faces, I know not but immediately we felt totally relaxed.........normally it takes a day or two.
The heart of any cruise ship are the personnel, the people looking after your needs and the needs you didn’t ...
This our second time on Azamara and it definitely won't be our last. I have never been on a cruise where the staff and crew, from the Captain down to the young man cleaning the stairs, are so friendly. Having the Hotel Manager, the Cruise Director and assistant and others waving goodbye as we were disembarking was wonderful. It was as if we were valued friends who they couldn't bear to part ...
We chose this cruise because it provided an opportunity for us to visit cities and countries that we had never seen before. We had been on a Viking River Cruise before and was very pleased with the experience. We appreciated that the fees were all up front. The ship was clean, comfortable and the staff always polite and helpful. The service was impeccable.
We especially enjoyed the meals at ...
This was my first cruise and my first foreign travel experience. I was thrilled with the size of the ship: small in comparison with other cruise ships. The crew was diverse and extremely helpful and friendly. There was always something to do while at sea from lectures, films, games, books, a puzzle, beautiful music, wonderful food in several venues in a variety of settings, two pools, a full ...
Embarkation, Disembarkation went smoothly, well organized. Greeting at the airport and the shuttle to the ship was fantastic! Greeters were there to guide us through the whole process and onto the bus. Staff on the ship were all friendly and courteous.
Coffee was terrible in the world cafe.
Steaks in the world cafe were mostly raw - It was difficult to get medium rare.
One never ...
Transatlantic in November, from Southampton to NY and back. Return leg coincided with Literature Festival at sea, which made the ship much busier and removed many of the more usual enhancement events including the Planetarium.
Mostly a good experience - food, entertainment, service, ship, stateroom, embarkation, library, bars, afternoon tea etc all of a very high standard. Staff almost always ...
We took this trip as part of our anniversary celebrations and it didn’t disappoint. Embarkation at Southampton was extremely smooth with the time taken from train station to cabin just over half an hour. Our first meal in the buffet restaurant was OK although getting a table was more difficult than usual as its the only facility open on embarkation day. We had been recommended the Britannia Club ...
Having only traveled in the past by air, automobile, or train, it was high time I tried a cruise, and a transatlantic cruise to me, seemed most adventurous.
Seven days alone, afloat on the temperamental Atlantic, inside a large ship filled with strangers, filled me with mild anticipation and intrepid fearfulness of what lay ahead on my crossing. Was I to perhaps be cut off from the outside ...
My wife is mobility impaired and usually uses a wheelchair and so a lot of this report relates to the accessibility aspect of our two way Atlantic crossing on the QM2.
We checked in about one hour early and that did not cause a problem. Embarkation at Southampton was easy and efficient although the postcode given on our e-tickets seemed to refer to a park in the middle of Southampton rather ...
Having sailed once before in the Caribbean with Star Flyer we decided on taking it across the Atlantic. The 23 day crossing was a combination of Malaga, Spain to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria (9 days) and Las Palmas to Barbados (14 days). Due to popularity it was over a year from booking to sailing. Cabin 121. 80% of passengers are repeat.
We arrived in Malaga 4 days before the cruise, ...
