This cruise on Symphony started in Tokyo, visited two ports in Northern Japan, one in Russia, Kodiak Island and then the typical other Alaska ports on the way to Vancouver via the inside passage. The new owner was in Tokyo sailing around on his yacht emblazoned with the Crystal Logo before we left. Overall this was an excellent northern Pacific crossing. The weather cooperated magnificently with mild seas (nothing like you see on the Most Dangerous Catch), some rainy sea days, a fantastic sunny day in Ketchikan, good weather in Glacier Bay and reasonable port days when we visited shore. Time Bandit was anchored in Kodiak during that stop. The ship was FULL so service in the main restaurant was a little below par as the kitchen and waiters attempted to get to every guest, but the food quality was still outstanding. Visits to Silk Road and Prego continue to be journey highlights. Crystal's evening entertainment is always a strength as are the lecturers. I particularly enjoy the early evening show since I go to bed early and get up to exercise at 5 am. I also appreciate the Magic Castle at Sea showings. Due to the length of the voyage that magician also did an evening performance. Another highlight was the Japanese juggler from Cirque du Soleil. While I have cruised on Regent, Seabourn, Silver Sea, Oceania, Holland America and Celebrity, I keep coming back to Crystal because any voyage on Crystal is always delightful. Read Less
