This was our 11th cruise and 2nd princess (1st experience was Emerald Princess in September 2022 and was excellent) but was the worst ever.
1. Waiting for 2 hour at Yokohama even everything done online but to pick up the medallion.
Suggest to narrow the check in window to minimize overcrowding passenger during peak hours.
2. Water shuttle horrible. Some disrespectful passengers picked up ...
Pre-Cruise:
This was our 18th cruise and our 3rd with NCL. We selected back to back cruises because of the itineraries, intensive Japan and Philippines beginning in Tokyo and ending in Singapore. Within 24hrs of booking with our travel agent an NCL representative phoned us to check the contents of our package and begin the upselling process. This caused some confusion regarding what our package ...
This was our fourth cruise with Princess, and the most disappointing one.
In general, the whole cruise was mediocre. Check in took about 40 minutes and we were not in the peak period.
Room was reasonably clean but some furniture are showing wear and really tired. There was a cold ' Hello ' with the steward, but after I gave a 50 dollars tip the next day, I get some smile.
Activities and ...
We chose this cruise as it was perfect timing for our holiday in Japan. Our second princess cruise and we were excited for the adventure. From embarkation to the awful dining experiences our excitement soon evaporated.
Arriving at Yokohama ($170 taxi ride from Tokyo ) our bags were swiftly taken out of sight, our passports shown and our vaccination verification and we were rushed to a waiting ...
Ship was dated, service was very poor, dining was average, take a large bank account with you because they will charge you like a wounded bull!! Don't trust what they tell you as we were told that to certain destinations by foot was not possible but it was, again another ploy to sell you their excursions which are grossly overpriced as are their drinks, note you will be paying a daily gratuity ...
The embarkation check in process was abysmal. We had submitted our pre-boarding forms electronically along with photos and brought copies with us. When we got to check in, NONE of that work paid off. Their computer system could not call up the data provided electronically, so we had to supply it AGAIN while the person entered it finger by finger on the keyboard. Then their system could not ...
1. The day before the cruise a Typhoon hit Tokyo. We understand that you cannot do anything when mother nature hits but there was no communication, no notifications or emails from Princess explaining that there is a delay in the cruise ship coming back into port due to the Typhoon and that there was any delay in embarkation. There should have been an initial email warning of the approaching ...
I see SILVERSEA is getting mixed reviews. SILVERSEA advertises and charges in the ultimate luxury category but after two cruises, my experience is it is clearly not. I described our experience in a previous local post as: "misrepresented in the advertisement, lack of planning very evident, mismanaged on the ship, disregard for passenger interests, and the withholding of critical information." ...
Friends suggested it would be a great vacation my first in over 20 years I saved up all year for this snd everything about it was a huge disappointment the captain snd staff did nothing to make me feel safe in the upcoming typhoon and I left the ship due to my great for my safety along with 8 other people in my group there was NOTHING remotely luxurious about this ship it looked old and in need of ...
After waiting a year and a half for this cruise, we embarked in Tokyo, at 2:30 on Sept. 28th. At 4:00 we had the life jacket review, and immediately thereafter there was an announcement of an important meeting with the captain in the lounge. Upon entering the lounge, we found the captain on the stage with a huge map, showing the coming Tyohoon Trami, coming straight southbound into our voyage ...
