Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

For a little perspective, this is our 68th cruise, but first on Princess. We are Elite/Diamond members with NCL and MSC (Yacht Club only), and have cruised also with RCL, Carnival, Azamara, Viking (River only), and some others that are no longer around. Japan was on our bucket list and had a cruise booked there with NCL during the end of Covid, but that was canceled as Japan was not yet ...

Bucket List Success

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Journey

A bucket list experience that was just perfect. We did use Viator for all of our shore tours and they were great. Onboard was so great from food, to staff to our cabin. The first time we didn't have a balcony but had a large window on the 4th deck a few cabins away from Guest Services - loved where our cabin was. Wonderful sea days, so much to do. Went to specialty dinners and was disappointed ...

Not as good as previous cruises.

Not as good
2-5 Cruises • Age 60s

Staff great. Food great. Itinerary to Japanese islands not good. First two islands just fish markets (1 or 2), very grey and bleak. Not even a cafe. Jeju disappointing. Dirty compared to Japan. Certain passengers from a certain country were intolerable (and there were a lot of them). Spitting, pushing at meal times, pushing on transit buses and in lifts (never wait for people to get out). Never ...

Great cruise on the Jewel

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

This was a first-time for us with a lot of sea days in the middle of ocean, and I wasn't sure what to expect but it was great! The crew aboard the Jewel had many choices of activities during our sea days, most free of charge. We did hit some higher waves for a couple of days, but the Jewel and her crew handled it perfectly (avoid the elevators and it was all good :) ) We embarked in Tokyo, ...

An onslaught of ineptitude

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

At first glance, you’ll see the list of complaints about all that Norwegian could have done better, and think that there is just another “Karen” out there. But, after a while, the small things start piling up, and what first appeared to be a couple of kinks in the system, soon become an absolute avalanche of incompetencies. But first, the good things: The rooms were spacious and clean and the ...

Loved the land portion, the boat's a bore

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

Japan and busan were delightful, but this boat is a bore! most of the entertainment has been soloists - a juggler, a magician, a pianist, a harmonica player - and this is in the main theater! the ship is small and there aren't many options provided. the same two violinists, one pianist and a small band rotating around doing the same songs over and over. the food has been unimpressive. some ...

A lovely cruise but itinerary could be improved.

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Journey

Had some reservations about Azamara as the company had changed hands since our last cruise with them. However, we were happy with the ship, cabin comfortable, excellent cabin attendant Raymond. Food good in dining room and buffet. We enjoyed the destination lectures. Agree with previous reviewer, the drummers from Kagoshima were amazing. Also the buffet on the deck before we reached ...

This cruise met or exeeded expectations.

Azamara's ships are older and beginning to show their age but are clean and well-maintained. Our wheelchair-accessible suite was comfortable with plenty of storage. The bath including roll-in shower is small but with good access. The cabin door is power operated. We found the food as good or better than expected with the exception of Aquilina. Choose Prime C instead. The main dining room is also ...

Avoid NCL Service is going down the Tube!!

Review for a Asia Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

NCL is going down the drain. Disorganized embarkation. People running everywhere. Was told to leave luggage at the curb. 2 Pieces of luggage arrived at 5 pm the 3rd one at 10 pm. Disembarkation was a total nightmare. Luggage was supposed to be there at 8.30 am showed up at 12 pm. No NCL Personnel to be seen anywhere. Luggage was picked up by local sea port employes and hand carrried/pulled (2 ...

Worst cruise ever

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

This was our 11th cruise and 2nd princess (1st experience was Emerald Princess in September 2022 and was excellent) but was the worst ever. 1. Waiting for 2 hour at Yokohama even everything done online but to pick up the medallion. Suggest to narrow the check in window to minimize overcrowding passenger during peak hours. 2. Water shuttle horrible. Some disrespectful passengers picked up ...
