We chose this cruise as we had always wanted to see Gibraltar a d it's a place well worth a visit, however the cruise experience is pretty dire, we are regular cruisers and can honestly say this is the worst ever, we don't usually moan but this is a much needed warning.
The ship is very old and tired with what seems to be a shortage of staff, every day we had to queue to get into breakfast, ...
Currently on board Discovery 2 this ship is very tired with threadbare carpet on the stairs showers with no water pressure, food is ok but nothing special ate in the Kora La yet again not brilliant but ok, we are regular cruisers with tui and all i can say is this is the worst ship in the fleet.
We had a junior suite the balcony was disgusting rust and flaking paint, you no longer get clarins ...
The ship has had some refurbishment but only in the bar's and restaurants the cabins and more to the point the plumbing hasn't, our toilet stopped working second day others on the ship had also had this issue. We were on deck four and had to put up with the smell of sewage in the corridor and in our room. On our first day there was the smell of sewage in the Latitude restaurant. The day after ...
Marella Voyager - avoid. Unlike other Marella ships this one lacks any welcoming atmosphere. Reception is hidden away and underwhelming. The staff in The Kitchens food area are miserable looking, never smiled once and clearly don't want to be there. You have to queue for food and then move along as you point out what you would like as some staff struggle with English. The chicken is processed ...
Have been on 35 previous Thomson/Marella cruises. Always been 100% satisfied. But not with the Voyager. Food was awful. In some cases could not eat it. They have changed the Market Place buffet to The Kitchens. With themed choices. Indian, Chinese, Greek, etc. The food choice was the same every lunchtime, and evening. Which was boring. Some of the food that was served, was uneatable. Toast for ...
We booked this cruise for our wedding anniversary on the strength of susan Calman TV showing We booked the royal suite, but we're we on the same ship OMG nothing like what she showed, canteen meals in latitude restaurant awfull Tui you should be ashamed of yourselves!. Speciality restaurants were are saving grace, but when you pay £5500 for one weeks holiday why the hell should you pay more. ...
We booked this cruise as our honeymoon choosing to upgrade to a junior suite
The whole experience was absolutely disgusting and horrendous from start to finish
The toilet would not flush in our suite meaning we had to use the public one, had to call engineers out two days running. On the third day the waste had leaked into the cabin resulting in the majority of the carpet wet through, the ...
Whole cruise was shockingly bad. Ship is in need of urgent modernisation.Cabins need upgrade, bathrooms still have shower curtains ! Balcony was filthy, table stained. Smell of sewage. Cabin steward didn’t even introduce himself so no idea of his name, but he did keep the cabin clean.Squid &Anchor pub now closes at 11pm which puts pressure on the other couple of bars which are then overcrowded. No ...
I have been with marella a few times. Never glamorous but used to be functional and efficient. Not now. The food in the main restaurants would appear to have come from a 1970’s prison ship and we had mild food poisoning after 2 nights. I know they are cost cutting but the cooking was amazingly bad. Maybe the worst I have ever seen in a commercial setting. The deep fried long hair in the calamari ...
Oh dear. A disappointing experience. The ship is kept very clean. The balcony was large and the hammock was a nice touch. Muster drills are now on video and are faster than before. But:
Tui/Marella has now sunk so far downmarket that I am surprised they don’t market this as a submarine. The ship is now so mediocre and lacking in character, charm or features that it now resembles a floating ...
