All went wrong from the flight we took 7 hours 30 mins to get to Malaga we sat on granada runway for over two hours. We have not long come back from this ship Marella Celebration well where do I start the ship has paper thin walls I could here the people in the next cabin snoring it was so bad and you can imagine what it was like when people came back from the casino or late night drinking. Also you sat in theatre/ show and you can watch everything vibrate It’s so bad people say you get use to it you don’t the ship is so old her sister ship has been scraped off I wonder why do not take children on this ship for me I would worry about them all the outside steps are so steep. You could not get a sun bed unless you get up at 6am just not enough they say they remove towels but they don’t Food very basic in self serving restaurant. Safe in room £35 for holiday I have never paid for safe on any cruise I’ve been on before WiFi nearly £50 which most of the time it did not work Another thing i was not feeling well at the end of cruise found my blood sugar very high (34) can’t be certain but I don’t think I was getting Diet Coke Good bit is the staff sorry not for me would try the newer ships but not this boat you will be sorry if you book look at newer ships this one is over 35 years old and her sister ship was scrapped I wonder why Read Less

We have done over 20 Thomson cruises and although most of the ship particularly the cabins are tired we have always enjoyed the entertainment and cruise. This one was shocking....the entertainment team spent more time on deck 6 smoking than they did entertaining, they put on a deck party that lasted 35minutes where they just all danced together and did not involve any of the passengers and when were in dock there was no entertainment at all on the decks. All the shows were poor and pretty much everyone felt the same way one of the comedians thought it was funny to tell homephobic jokes and although we are not gay it was very uncomfortable. We were at sea for 6 days and they did nothing extra on the decks, most people had to make their own entertainment. I could go on and on about how disappointed we were and in fact couldn't wait to get off the ship and come home. There was no sail away party and even when the outside decks were full with passengers no extra entertainment was put on. If this is the future of the old Thomson cruises now called Marcella we certainly won't be doing another one Read Less

short flight out was best part all downhill after that ship had leaking pipes everywhere, now 30 years old and showing it,swimming pools were oblong tubs, the wife best describes it as pontins on water not a cruise i want to repeat one port of call in the dominican rep la romana was just dangerous, dock was a commercial one for container ships and if you attempted a walk ashore you put your life in danger even the police had machine guns , decent food in the canteens(yes i do mean canteens as in the old factory ones)sunbeds were in short supply people were up at 5am to get one,the german side of the company keep the best ships and send the uk the scrap end shipswe regularly saw maintenance carrying very large pipe sections around the ship, only good thing was the crew but they deserved a better ship to crew,as it is we will be avoiding thomson `cruises` Read Less

Having been on a number of Thomsons cruise in the past (with no problems) we decided to try the Enchanting Vistas repositioning cruise on the Dream. Wish we hadn't bothered now. The only good thing about that ship was disembarkation! The food was sub-standard, often cold (custard mainly). Lobster on the Captain's night was so tough and overcooked that it was impossible to cut! Bread was sweet, toast was pre-cooked the night before for breakfast the following morning (we saw and asked), desserts, ok so a cupcake is nice but....... The ship lost a third of it's staff in Palma before setting off and was full of trainees who didn't have a clue. You could die of thirst waiting for waiters in the lounges! Reception staff were either trainees or didn't wear name badges. Tour to Sorrento and Pompeii was a farce, under an hour in Sorrento??? issues with guide in Taormina! Now I got a refund on 1 tour which left my onboard account at a minus figure and was given cash back but I have appending amount of £15 in my bank account, so watching that. Family had £1 to pay, had £14 pending but have had £22 taken out so all going on a complaint to Thomsons. This ship has rotting windows, rust and is shabby. Needs a total refit to be any good, ship and staff! Book any other ship but this. Credit however does go to Carlos in the main Restaurant, his professionalism and witty charm made our evening meals a pleasure (even if the food lacked quality). His trainee Luis was also very very good and saw a big improvement during the week, again credit to Carlos who works extremely hard (as do all wait staff) to make sure your evening meal goes smoothly. This cruise should never have been allowed to sail, the staff were simply not prepared/trained to deal with a full ship of passengers. Disgusted at Thomson right now and will not be considering another cruise with them for a very long time, if ever! Read Less

We have cruised with Thomson before and had a great time however this cruise was different. We new that there was a problem from the first night. Our cabin was on deck 7 directly beneath the Medusa lounge. The noise from the Medusa lounge was to say the least horrendous. All we could hear was very very loud thumping music which carried on until after midnight. We did request a move and after a few days we were offered a cabin ( guess where ) directly beneath the disco!! needless to say we declined. To make matters worse around 4a.m.most mornings we could hear what appeared to be furniture being moved about.Consequently we only managed about 3-4hours sleep each night. We have since complained to Thomson so called customer services and to the CEO however both responses were to say the least disinterested !. Thomson keep saying that for an extra fee we could have pre-booked our cabin. If this is the case then Thomson should at least advertise the fact that certain cabins are noisy. I would rate Thomson alongside Ryanair i.e. if you want to sleep on your holiday then you should pay extra for the privilege !! Thomson would do well to remember that there are plenty of other cruise lines out there. One final point to note that the quality of the food was nothing like what we have previously experienced on Thomson. It was luke warm and poor both in quality and quantity.Thomson you need to get your act together. We went on this cruise with a very open mind after seeing it featured on Watchdog and reading many bad reviews. We took hope in the fact that the ship was going into dry dock for repairs and "refurbishment". How wrong we were!!! This was an absolute nightmare of an holiday,if ever a ship was wrongly named then this has got to take first place. The corridors stink and the carpets are filthy and threadbare. The walls are covered in big black marks were pictures have been hung and are no longer there. The lifts, (when working) stink and are of an hiddly piddly nature, you can go so far in one lift then have to get out walk to either the front or back of the ship to get another lift to continue your journey. Why don't you just walk up or down the strairs to get to where you want to go I hear you ask?? Because more often than not, the stairs are fenced off and you aren't allowed to walk down them. The aircon did not work in either the cabin or throughout the ship. Cabins of a good size but the bathroom dated and dirty, the bath comes complete with a permanent black scum mark all around it. Drawers extremely difficult to open. Work constantly being done whilst passengers are trying to eat. People allowed to smoke next to uncovered food causing smoke to taint food. Hygiene standards not maintained with regards to hand cleaning. I could go on and on but I would be here all day. This ship was not sorted whilst in dry dock, resulting in so many delays reaching our destinations. Until we actually left Madeira for the transatlantic crossing we were unsure if we would actually sail. The ship was sailing on one engine and limped to our destinations in Europe causing cancellations to excursions. There is a constant shuddering which can be felt throughout the ship, even lay in bed you can feel it through your pillow. I strongly advise anyone due to travel on this ship to think again and look to transferring to another ship. We have cruised with Thomson's previously and not experienced anything like this. I would never go on this ship again Read Less
