Choose a cruise. To relax and for a luxury couple vacation. I couldn’t have chosen a worse trip with TUI. As for food! Dreadful. A massive punch up on board passengers. Staff that didn’t have a clue. Not all inclusive. Entertainment was like a bad red coat holiday. Like a booze cruise Absolutely disgusting. And I complained straight away on board and on returning. Just received an email today. No compensation. And just a sad apology. Shame on you TUI Extremely overpriced 7.5k for the trip. And feel like I have been really ripped off. The sales pitch was so good I thought it was expensive but a real treat. But on return the shop wasn’t as happy to hear about my complaint. And as for the response I am fuming and shocked. If I treated my customers in this fashion. I wouldn’t have a business. Certainly not one that Jane MacDonald has advertised. Read Less

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and to have New Year in the Caribean. We were told this was a new ship and would meet all our needs !!! The cabin was old, tired and next to the engine on the fourth floor. The noise from the engine when at sea and when docking was so loud it was unbearable. We had no sleep and the cabin shook so much all the fittings fell of the walls, Lights were broken, curtains stained and bare wires hung over the bed. The shower was filthy, mold on all the tiles, grout and walls, and rust all over the door with broken fixtures. The toilet was broken and kept overflowing getting blocked. The corridor smelled of sewerage all the time. we asked to be moved and were told the ship was full. The second week the sheep was also full. By this time we were very tired due to lack of sleep and we left when we docked in barbados as I could not stand another night on that ship. The Bar was dirty, veryting was ticky with poor quality drinks. Beware all cocktails come from Slush machines that are all ice no alocohol. You have to pay for water !!! The food was very poor and very tiny portions. We hated every minute on this cruise I have warned all my family, friends and colleagues never to book a Tui cruise they should all be decommissioned. The ships are reconditioned ships not new. Royal Caribean got rid of these ships for a reason and they should be borken up for scrap. Read Less

Joined dream on 18 dec looking forward to visiting Bethlehem and Jerusalem for the Christmas period. We were on the ship for two weeks supposedly the whole itinerary since booking in September was changed we were not told about Jerusalem and Bethlehem stop even though the ship had been doing this for the last six weeks until we got on board so that the company did not have to refund us or compensate us for yet another change. Our cabin was absolutely disgusting there was vomit on the floor which had less stains on the carpet the beds were soiled with other peoples bodily fluid the head pillows were further soiled with blood and sweat and absolutely stunk after the first night in the cabin I developed breathing difficulties from the dirty tired air-conditioning. We spoke with guest relations manager and told him we needed to leave the ship due to the breathing difficulties I was experiencing thing on board. We left the cabin that day to return to find everything of our belongings were taken from the cabin the carpet been ripped up a brand-new carpet laid and glued down the fumes from the blue further exasperated my breathing problems but as there are no further cabins on board vacant they are unable to move us the ship further even due to my illness could not get off the ship for six days and even then they wanted me to pay for my own flights home when we had £200 in our on-board spend account. They agreed after speaking to their head office that we should pay for our own flights on our card and they would then refund us are on-board credit in cash we flew back to Cardiff and had to pay for hotel accommodation there before we could do our return journey back to London. The food on board the ship was absolutely diabolical the cheapest nastiest sausages bacon thick with fat or collect together frozen vegetables cheap wines and poor quality food chicken still on the bone , stale sandwiches with curled up edges for afternoon tea sausage rolls served warm with no sausage. Every day the buffet service was an absolute feeding frenzy with very dangerous hot serving trays which are sat into a bath of boiling water when you reach into the serving tray the steam comes out and burns you on your wrist and lower arms. The ship overall condition is poor and tired and dirty the rust inside and out is very apparent and the boat creeks and moans when she’s at sea . The pollution that she puts out is unbelievable and the smell of fumes within the ship is disgraceful. The Christmas decorations on board were absolutely pathetic with a small 3 foot blowup Santer being your main feature outside your restaurant door Christmas trees were about 4 1/2 foot 5 foot tall with old-fashioned tinsel and decorations randomly thrown on the tree the whole affect was cheap and shabby. I can only like in the bars and restaurant to a good old-fashioned working men’s club. The pool area even though it was really not hot enough to sit out but not supervised properly and the only thing they had adults could use with a hot tub there are signs up saying that children were not allowed in the hot tub and supervise yet every single day the hot tub is full of children with no adults in sight now we seem to care or do anything about it the ship was full of children with very little entertainment for them on a daily basis. The pool area even though it was really not hot enough to sit out was not supervised properly and the only thing the advice dogs could use where the hot tub is there are signs up saying that children were not allowed in the hot tub and supervise yet every single day the hot tubs were full of children with no adults in sight now we seem to care or do anything about it the ship was full of children with very little entertainment for them on a daily basis Since returning home I have been confined to bed with a lung infection in both lungs having to take antibiotics and steroids daily and rest this has been contracted through poor air-conditioning and is a ongoing serious issue at this precise moment. The ship did organise a private transfer for us to the airport so we didn’t have to go on the coach with the other passages I do actually think as much as we requested this it was probably in their best interest to do this to stop me spreading any kind of infection to other passengers I might of picked up on board the ship I arrived on the ship on the 18th of December fit and healthy. Staff of the ship are way too good to be subjected to what they have to work with there all cheerful smiley bright personable people and way too good to be on the dream. I’m so sorry that I cannot add photographs to this but writing it on my mobile phone it does not give me the facility to upload the photographs of the disgusting cabin and other little treats around the ship Read Less

The first and foremost part is what let’s the whole thing down. We were forced to leave our baggage outside the rooms at 2am the night before leaving . I complained and said I wasn’t comfortable and I was told their was no option. My case and my wife’s case turned up in the U.K. missing a £3.5k work MacBook Pro , 400 cigarettes and several items of designer clothes. The security seals were broken and the locks completely gone . After speaking with other cruisers since back they had the exact same issue with security seals tampered with and missing items. When I contacted TUI they weren’t in the slight bit interested and fobbed me off to travel insurance despite me asking for help in trying to track it down. No ownership of the problem whatsoever essentially means I have spent my last penny with TUI and will be telling people to avoid also. All in all the ship has been updated in the public areas but needs renovation in staircases and cabins. The atrium lifts were always filthy. Most staff are pleasant and friendly on the bars and restaurants but the entertainment staff less so (apart from Manuel and Tom) Restaurants are generally good however it’s very chaotic at times and service can be a little all over the place. My 30 year old wife was served a dessert saying “happy 60th Tony” on the plate. The buffet is absolutely atrocious and is school canteen standards, You would easily find a better breakfast in Asda. Alcoholic drinks are good but soft drinks again are atrocious with the syrups not mixed properly due to old machines and poor mixing. Read Less

We wanted to go home shortly after boarding the ship. The only good thing I can take from this cruise is that the majority of the staff are very helpful and pleasant as one has come to expect from Thomson/Marella cruises. Although in the minority, there were enough loud, drunk and foul mouthed party goers to ruin anyone's cruise. They made one hell of a noise in the early hours of the morning in the corridors. Drunk couples fighting and swearing at each other, loud drunks up at the bars, Broadway show lounge and out on the decks. Compared to other cruises there were just too many incidents for this to be a one off. It appears that this itinerary and low cost cruise has the ability to attract the above mentioned people unlike other cruises I have been on. The walls separating the cabins are paper thin. We were inside cabin so got constant noise (snoring, coughing, couples having sex, flatulence, opening and closing of drawers etc) coming through the walls on all four sides including the corridor. The cabin doors have a gap and let in all the noise and light from the corridors. The onboard entertainment was in my opinion well below average and musicians repeated the same songs night after night. The food in Lido's and the Meridian was below average and the vegetables always overcooked. The wok in Lido's was terrible and the person operating that should take a few lessons from the guy who does it on the Dream. The lobster down in the Meridian on the first Captains night was tough and overcooked. In the Meridian the catch of the day was so soggy and tasteless and the same applies to the bacon and hashbrowns in Lido's. Having said this, one could be selective at the buffet in Lido's and come away with a few appetising portions of food. This was the first cruise I have ever done where I came home lighter than when I left. In summary, on days at sea there are some loud drunk people at places on the decks so one has to be selective where one goes. On days when the ship docks, which is most days, one stands in the breakfast queue with others who cough all over you and also the food in the vicinity, then one eats a below average breakfast then goes out for the day. When one returns then one goes to the cabin to wash up along with all your neighbours and you get a chance to hear them using the toilet, showering, having sex, burping, flatulence, listening to music etc. Then one heads out for an overcooked meal but is selective and walks away with a few appetising items on the plate as if one is on diet. After this one heads to Broadway show lounge, only to walk out halfway during a lacklustre performance or because some really drunk person is spilling their drink on you or others in the vicinity, yet continues to be served alcohol. So then, not wanting to go down too early one heads to one of the bars to hear the same musician/s singing the same songs they sang the night before. Then one cannot help but notice the loud drunk people and the continuous flow of well behaved people sitting down in the vicinity of the loud drunks then getting up and leaving without even finishing their drinks. After a beer one decides enough is enough and heads off to the cabin early only to be kept awake most of the night by your snoring, coughing, neighbour and of course the foul and loud mouthed drunks socialising in the corridors outside your cabin when returning to their cabins in the early morning hours. We chose this cruise to celebrate our Ruby anniversary, and wife's 75th birthday. Upgraded seating on plane, luggage allowance, and to a extra large balcony cabin. Start with the cabin. You can't control the air con. It is either hot or cold. everyone had dry cough's, and colds. The bathing area is at least 8 inches higher than the cabin floor. This is awkward, and dangerous at our age. The toilet is a joke, you sit on the toilet with your left arm on a sink, and your right arm on a toilet roll holder. The cold water is warm, and the shower door only get by at a squeeze. The wardrobe doors are directly outside the bathroom door. So be careful. The gap at the bottom of the bed is about 18 inches wide. With a tv sticking out. Watch your shoulders. The bed is metal framed, and the mattress was in need of being replaced. Not packed up with blanket, and mattress protectors. The food choice in the market place was repetitive, poor quality, and cold. The entertainment was abysmal. In the Squid & Anchor you had a quiz, followed by virtual reality entertainment. In other words a projector screen with musicians on. This was repeated on deck 11. The lounge had a piano with a couple of singers. Heard better in the local. The broadway had such as an illusionist. Who just did card tricks. And what shows they did, where performed by the entertainments team. They put enough ice in the drinks to sink the titanic, and it took you half an hour to get served. You had to pay in the coffee shop, and if you went before 10-00 it was double the price. You could only smoke in 3 places on the ship, outside the squid and anchor at back of ship on deck 7, Outside the coffee port on deck 6, if it was open. And on deck 12 between 10-00 and 03-00. Weather permitting. So you have to leave your partner, if they don't smoke. Whilst you went up and down the ship. There are different levels to gain access to certain venues. This is because the middle of the ship is not open. It gets confusing, and tiring. The lifts sometimes close their doors on you. I have bruises to prove it. Read Less

Should of known what was coming when the manager of the store at the forte Birmingham gave us incorrect information regarding parking and checking in. From parking the car at the port following a twenty minute queue it took exactly 3 hours to board the ship. Totally unprepared for check in with 8 stations open and the card registration crashing constantly. The ship itself as a previous Royal Carribean ship was OK The staff were uninterested and personally witnessed what I believe was 5he staff helping themselves to wine from the islands cafe and transferring into implements at the waiters station. The shows in the broadway lounge were pathetic and the one act they brought in which was a magic/comedian act made ourselves and a large number of people walkout as it was worst than you would see in a working mans club. For the first three days I was bombarded with staff trying to upgrade my all inclusive package to a premium package, this was indicative of the cruise with regard to trying you to spend more and mor3 money on nothing more than crap. I have cruised many times before and this is by far the worst overall experience I have experienced. This is no mor3 than a poor performance of Haven on the seas. Don’t waste your money. Read Less

So I don't usually write reviews but our experience wasn't great, so thought I'd best have a moan after all! Starters. Our cabin was clean and functional, no issues with that, the location however wasn't. We were just by the coffee shop near the Atrium. We didn't realise it was a poor position until the evening when the music could be heard until late. Indeed, the last night the "leaving party" went on till at least 1am, not something you want when you have to vacate the cabin by 8am the next day. Be warned, if you are near the Atrium see if you can get moved or prepare to stay in the bar till late waiting for a drink! Dining. The food was ok but the restaurant hours were restrictive. We generally like to eat later in the evening but all the restaurants closed by 9:30 with only a snack bar open till later. This snack bar only provided left overs from the day which were handed to you when you asked. Want to experience the a Charles Dickens novel? "Please sir can I have some more", visit the snack bar! Which leads me to bar service.... I'm not sure some of the reviews were on the same ship as myself. Waiting to get served at a bar was tiresome with all the bars we visited only having one staff member serving drinks behind the bar and usually one waiter loitering. If you don't mind waiting upward of 40 mins to get a drink from the waiter, I guess it's fine. Going to the bar was hit and miss as well. The bar staff didn't understand the concept of queuing. Twice I pointed to a person who had been waiting longer than myself only for the barman not to return once they had dealt with that customer. Maybe it's a British thing, but everyone I queued with moaned about this service, with some suggesting there were more barman on previous years. As you can note with our cruise date, our trip occurred during the World cup while England were still in it (yeah shocked! never expected that when we booked). The entertainment staff did their best to get the England games on the TV and the bar staff worked hard while the England games were on, but the other times... it soured our experience. On the plus side, the Itinerary was great and would like to visit Croatia again, just not with this company. Read Less

I chose this cruise because it covered NewYears eve and my wifes 70th birthday. The best part of the cruise was the firework display provided buy Funchal, thank goodness TUI didn't have anything to do with this , other than docking in Fuchal. The ship was in the midst of a virus issue and underwent a chlorine deep clean of all the ships plumbing in Tenerife the day before we left for home. This entailed getting nearly all the passengers off the ship and onto a complimentory tirp (10 coaches I counted). New passengers where boarding in Tenerife when the trip got back to the ship. More chaos ensued as both sets of passengers had to board through the same gangway. The next day the Captain announced to the new passengers not to believe what had been posted on social media in the UK about the virus onboard, but said it had been mostlikely been brought onboard by previous passengers on a previous. cruise. What a cheek !! Why did it take nearly two weeks to deep claen the ship!!!! Food was abismal, luke warm at best. Bacon at breakfast could have been used to tile a roof it was that hard and overcooked. I didn't fancy complaining about the food as you never now how upset the cooks can get!! Waiters where cleaning tables in the self service restaurants with spontex cloths and on sign of them using antibacterial even though the passengers were religiosly using and being prompted to use the hand sanitisers. The cabin flooded on Wdnesday night along with many more at various times throughout our week (good, sorry bad news travels fast in lifts). Hense the eventual deep clean. This cruise was the first for my partner and the third for myself. My partner has been put off for ever cruising again. This ship should of been weighed in along time ago, we were never told that the norovirus was present on the ship before we embarked, had we known we would not have went. You could not serve yourself at all to ANYTHING .. not even a glass of water. the food and service was terrible... over cooked / undercooked / small portions , it was awful, the waitress had a cold and was sniffing all over the place. they all looked miserable as hell and would ignore you most of the time. There was nothing to do on this ship due to virus even the pools were empty half the time. The excursions were expensive and all very samey, if you wanted to do your own thing there wasn't much going on in the ports obviously so you had to get cabs to get anywhere which is ok if you know where you want to go. The only thing that saved the day was the entertainment gang, they were fabulous and should be on a better ship as they are wasted on this one. Our inside cabin had paper thin walls and we could hear conversations and tv's on both sides of our cabin, at night the constant vibration of the engines did not let up and creaked and groaned all night long , the air condition was so bad that I felt I was suffocating by the early hours of the morning every morning, two days. before we disembarked I started to get a bad persistent cough and sore throat which developed into a cold and severe chest infection which spoilt the weeks holiday after the cruise, its the 4 jan 2018 as I right this and I'm still ill and only started to unpack today, we got home on the 28 dec 2017. I strongly strongly advise anybody to avoid this ship like your life depends on it...Thompson should be absolutely ashamed to advertise this old tub as a cruise ship, everything about it, its crew, amenities, restaurants etc is way over its sale by date... I could go on and on and on.... AVOID AVOID AVOID Read Less

My partner was assaulted on the second evening, onboard security failed to act after being repeatedly asked to deal with the offending drunk There were numerous other fights an arguments during the course of the cruise My partner has a lactose issue and the alternatives were abismal,at one point he asked the head chef what was in a particular dish and he had no idea. But the most annoying and disrespectful thing he found was being referred to as “its not butter”followed by smirks from the serving staff. After twenty five years cruising we have never seen anything like it. On the bright side the cabins were adequate and clean ,the deck staff were courteous although the drinks waiters on the outside bars must have been on commission as they constantly pushed the drinks packages. The itinerary was fine but the cost of the excursions would make a glass eye wince. Care with your luggage? Also not a priority, the handlers in Corfu were seen kicking the cases. Overall if you fancy a punch up and a cheap curry this is a Millwall fans Nirvana,if not save your money and put it to a reputable cruise company that’s not in smoke and mirrors industry. Read Less

We are retired,we holiday at least 6 times a year and at the Glasgow cruise show in 2016 we were taken in by this cruise as it was somewhere we had wanted to go for years it sailed from a port only 90 miles from our home and we had a free few week, so why not!. Departure was a farse. Massive 'Q's' o get into the car park and no toilets. No bus to take us to the ship [it was only 100mts away but we were not allowed to walk so had to stand in the rain for twenty minutes]. When we finally got on the ship our luggage was waiting for us and the cabin 203 deck 6] was quite spacious, plenty of wardrobe space and two windows facing the front [sorry 'Prow'] pity they didn't leek like sieve]. first night crossing the north sea was a bit rough, force 9 gale as we crossed the north sea, but we are experiences cruisers so woke up and had a hearty breakfast in the 'Lido' restaurant. . Had lunch in the meridian restaurant nice staff and food I would compare to 'Witherspoon's, Ok but nothing exceptional and dinner was the same as were all the meals we had there except the 'Escargot' which would put most french restaurants to shame as was the 'Red Snapper', so they do have some exceptional chefs. The 'excursions Sales Pitch' was a wonder to behold. It was done like a 'QVC' questions & Answer session with the cruise director and other members of his team telling us why it we would be so much better to go on the organized tour rather than doing it yourself. First stop would be Flam and we could go on the official Thomason Carriages for £98 English commentary and that if we went ourselves it would be 150, What they did not tell you was the 150 was Norwegian currency [10.6 to £1] which was under £15 and that all carriages were the same and all got the english commentary. It was the same for all other excursions, over priced and over hyped. on night two after the storm had subsided I noticed a very distinct vibration in the cabin to the point that you could not drink a cup of tea without spilling it. Morning three I woke up thinking I had 'Parkinsons' as I had the shakes [and it was not due to drink, if only it was] it was due to the shake in the ship and as we found out it was worse when the ship was docked and the main engines shut down. I gave Thomsons the benefit of doubt that something had come loose or got damaged during the storm and that is what was causing the terrible vibration that went right through the whole of the front of the ship. I have since found out that this has been reported for over twenty years on this ship. During the cruise I got more & more tired because of sleep deprivation because of sleep deprivation as did others. Reporting the vibration got lots of engineers looking about our cabin, but no improvement. Entertainment: the comedian who was on two nights was great. The entertainment team I believe this was their first cruise and it showed, bit like a secondary school concert,a bad secondary school concert. During the cruise when docked the ship was told to turn the music and sound down because we were causing sound pollution as the entertainment director thought it appropriate to make the ship sound like an 18-30 Benidorm Hotel ans all of these beautiful tranquil & peaceful Norwegian towns should suffer his choice of 'Garage Music'. We were in a church service in Stavanger Cathedral and all you could here was the music coming off Thomson Celebration and I felt ashamed to be one of the passengers. Overall the main crew are fantastic and hard working, but they have the most arrogant European officers I have ever encountered in 40 years of cruising. he ship and it's sister ship have been reported for the vibration problem for at least 20 years but Thomson [now renamed TUI] have ignored it. IMO the Celebration should have been scrapped long ago. Not only does it give you the 'Shakes' the so called 'Deluxe cabins' the windows leek. Over the next 12 months I have 4 other cruises booked already, Luckily none with Thomsons. And have they replied to my complaints? Not a word or acknowledgment in any form. Read Less

Our first night was wonderful our second night we went back to our room and tried to sleep but the noises coming from around the room cracking and creaking when at high seas were so loud we could not sleep after some time i phoned reception to ask if there was any other room because it was impossible to sleep , we were moved to a very small basic room, In the morning i asked to be moved and reception told us they had no rooms only the small one we just came from i said we paid more money for our bigger room so nothing was done to help us out, I said if nothing can be done is it possible to have some ear plugs sent to us but none came to the room so we persevered for the week but was not happy with this room at all. Our third night we were in the disco having a lovely time myself and my partner were sitting down talking to an oldish man there was a few men at the side of us standing up, they started pointing fingers at one another and started to push each other and all fell back onto me and my partner I received a black eye and a bruised face and my earring was ripped out of my ear, my partners Rolex watch was scratched and his very expensive chain was snapped and his shirt all ripped , we were very very lucky that nobody had any drinks in there hands. it was a terrible shock that such a thing could happen on a cruise ship as we have been on quite a few Thomson cruises and Royal Caribbean cruises and never seen anything like this. There were a lot of loud noisy Sun bingo v.i.p people in the disco dancing about with drinks in there hands on the dance floor. There should of been somebody in that disco to control these very loud people e.g . security /stewards ect but nobody was there drinks are available on this ship from 10 till 2am these people had too much to drink and were out of control and me and my partner were the innocent party I received injurys and my partners shirt and jewellery were damaged. Me and my partner went to the ships medical facility to have my ear looked at and they said I needed stitches I said no as I don’t like needles so they patched me up and we went to bed, the medical centre phoned me in the morning and said I needed stitches so I went and got some put in, (not what i expected to be doing on my holiday) and was asked to return for a change of dressing. Thomson Dream (Cuban Fusion and Mayan Treasures Itinerary) This was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime with my wife and too many things just did not meet the expectation of what we were told by Thomson at the time of booking. So what was a wonderful holiday was marred by a lot of issues that was not handled well by Thomson. We booked a 2 week cruise from Montego Bay, Jamaica to see the west Caribbean stopping off at: Cayman Islands, Cuba, Mexico, Belize and Honduras with a few excursions booked through Thomson as well as with other tour operators. We booked in an outside cabin and everything was as expected decent sized room with a bit a dated decor as this ship is getting a bit older. The problem was when the ship set sail from port, the room vibrated heavily due to the ship's engine that caused rattling of the structure and anything that was not quite secure. When we reported this issue to the reception team, we were notified that no spare rooms available so we had to endure the first week with little sleep due to noise and vibration. The next week when a room was available to move us in to, we were charged a £70 supplementary as it was a room with a larger window! We have mentioned that any other hotel would not charge a change in room if the initial room was unsatisfactory as we could not even get a good nights sleep but Thomson has officially responded that their cabins are subject to noise and vibrations, and this is out of their control therefore no compensation would be offered to guests - very bad customer service and response. Reception staff are quick to be defensive and state their rights, without really understanding the issues you are trying to convey. The dining on board has a variety of food on offer everyday from their waited service in 4 restaurants in the evening to 2 buffet style restaurants as well. The food is acceptable but I would not say outstanding by any measure. We have been to other holidays with Thomson and I would say it's on par with their 3 star all-inclusive resorts. Entertainment offered a good variety of choice throughout the day with trivia quizzes to evening west end style performances with a very energetic team of performers. Excursions are quite expensive booking through Thomson and their strict regulations have lead to a number of excursions being cancelled and guests refunded on the morning of the trip. We had a snorkelling trip cancelled in Cayman Islands due to high waves but when on we got on shore there were more tour operators carrying out the same excursion. We knew a few other excursions was cancelled during our trip due to similar reasons or lack of people booking onto it, so quite a few people on board was not pleased to hear. We did book onto another excursion (not with Thomson) and we almost lost out on $600USD because Thomson changed the itinerary without letting us know. We were due to dock in Belize a day later than expected and only happened to stumble across that information when we spoke to reception team and saw a print out of an updated itinerary on the desk. So watch out if you are booking something not through Thomson, because they will not offer compensation, another complaint that we have logged with them since returning. The ports of call were all beautiful places: Georgetown, Cayman Islands; Havana, Cuba; Cozumel, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Belize City, Belize; Roatan; Honduras. Would definitely go to the places we visited again but never a holiday with Thomson (TUI). Read Less

We chose "Highlights of the Med" for the itinery and to experience our second "Thomson" cruise. We sailed on TUI Discovery, basically a floating 3/4 star family style , resort hotel ,fully aware (We researched it!!!)we were not sailing on The Thomson Dream!!!We had a great holiday , enjoying ports of call we specifically wanted, cocktails we loved on AI, great food , always great service from lovely Philipino staff and some of the newer Eastern European staff( TUI has wisely Buddied the newcomers with their Philipino colleagues hoping they will absorb best practice!!!)space in the attractive public areas and a good pool area. As an experienced Thomson cruiser , be advised if you want "the glorious Thomson Dream " do not book "TUI Discovery"--do your research!!! As older folk with nine great grandchildren , for us TUI Discovery was normality but not for all our fellow cruisers. I wish to commend the Captains decision to avoid StRaphael and take us direct to Barcelona for our own comfort. Read Less

It was rubbish not like the other Thomson cruises I have been on no seating in the showrooms and bars really hard to get in the main Resteraunt tried to book a meal in the alacart on the second day of the cruise only to be told it's fully booked for 2weeks how is this possible the people who are on the ship for two weeks are booking the Resteraunt for the next week which is not fair on the people who are only there for one week no entertainment from the staff through the day like other ships I think they should get the entertainment team and cruise director Paul evens to show them how a ship should be run and how to entertain there customers very poor for a holiday I think I will go back on the majesty they know how to look after you and entertain you Read Less

This was my forth cruise and it was one of my worst and that's being kind. Before I go any further I read CMANotAHappyBunny's review and I couldn't agree more about the majority being said. But now I will express my own (full) opinion as this is what it's all about.Embarking/disembarking the ship was always a struggle; there were passengers exiting or returning back onto the ship at the same time, so it took a good 10 mins to get where you were going. When checking-in on the first day, I had to go all the way up to deck 8 from embarking the ship on deck 4 which was rather repetitive and tiring after coming off from a 9 hour flight. I was grateful for the welcome drink, but there was no welcome conference to my dissatisfaction. No lifts were able to be used on the first day and this continued for most lifts in the week, due to them being "out-of-order". This needed to be fixed but was not. Not all the lifts went to deck 11 which was a nuisance too.My first impressions of the ship was that it did actually have an okay interior but nothing fantastic (it was shabby looking, in places e.g. deck 9 and 11's outdoor furniture, the games room and water-closet cabins to name a few). The exterior was far more better looking; the ship actually looks new from the outside (everyday the ship was docked there were painters re-painting the already perfect white exterior of the ship, this I found very aimless). More attention needed paying to the interior. Decorators and maintenance are very much needed for the ship's interior for it to appeal to a mass amount of people.Absolutely nothing to do for children, so I was rather happy I didn't bring my 9 year old son along and I was intending to come on this cruise again with my son but that won't be happening anymore from my experience. The day, evening and night entertainment was abysmal especially the Broadway acts; they were weak in star quality. Do not and I repeat DO NOT bring young people aged 2 years old - 18 years old on this cruise as they will be nothing but bored.4 restaurants and none of them satisfied my wife or my taste-buds, we were very letdown. Gordon Ramsay is definitely needed on-board the ship to instruct the chefs but in no way do I blame them for having to cook such bad food, I blame the Maitre D.My cabin was not thoroughly clean to my dismay. The same bedsheets were kept for the whole week after I asked for them to be changed in the middle of the week. Bloodstains (or what appeared to be bloodstains) could be found in odd areas on the sheets. The carpet had odd stains. The only area which was clean was the toilet and sink area. I must mention that various toilets were blocked all around the ship at different times with leakages and smells of sewerage. Whoever did not smell sewerage on the ship was used to bad smells at home. The shower did not work properly, it was either too hot or too cold, trying to get just warm water (after 10 minutes) was a struggle. The itinerary was changed during the cruise so I was not able to visit Falmouth, Jamaica but had been stuck in Montego Bay, Jamaica for 2 days at one of the worst ports I've ever visited. The day at Aruba was changed to Sunday, a day when and where nothing is happening so it was very boring to say the least. Grenada's port was not the original, we were not in St. Georges main area of the island, this again being a nuisance. Barbados on the first day left little to do as we had to be on the ship fast because of previous flight delays. Overall, the port destinations from the original itinerary were a false alarm for a disappointing setback. There were some nice staff on the ship but the cruise isn't about the staff it's about the enjoyment of the cruise overall and for myself to say 'if it wasn't for the nice staff I wouldn't even be able to give the cruise a rating', is very bad on Thomson's part. Besides, the same staff won't be on the same ship forever. Read Less
