We had previously cruised with OV & when they were taken out of the UK cruise market we were left pondering who would fill their shoes for us. We enjoyed the relaxed, informal atmosphere that OV portrayed & the none of the other cruise lines appealed. We tried the Thomson Spirit, but something was lacking so we put cruising on hold for a while. Then we were pursuing cruise holidays & this ...

Trusted Thomson..... Having been on approx 12 cruises under the Thomson flag, starting many years ago with the good old Topaz. Have sailed on other ships, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Cunard, but Thomsons have always come out on top for value for money, food, entertainment, but most of all the friendliness of both staff and fellow passengers. Can't help but feel that Tui, Marella or whatever ...

Fantastic experience from start to finish. All the staff were smiley, happy and couldn't do enough for you. Ashley in 47 Degrees Restaurant made our week and because of his service, happy go lucky, anything we wanted was no trouble attitude we went to the restaurant every night and asked for his area. He remembered every night what drinks we had with the little touches ie: ice, lemonade, sweet, ...

Disappointing Cruise

This was cruise #8 for us. We have previously cruised with Ocean Village and NCL. So we are not novices. Embarkation was very quick, in fact, it was the quickest we have ever gone through this process. Well done Thomson. We had muster drill at 5pm but we were slightly suspicious that they told us we didn't need our life jackets. This was a first. As annoying as doing this drill is, it has to ...

Where are all the seats!

This is the second time we have been on the TUI Discovery and we were some what disappointed. The ship is beautiful and warrants a far betting rating than I can give her, this was mainly due to the lack of seating available. We spent quite a lot of the fortnight at sea because of the poor weather, this of course isn't to be blamed on the ship or the Captain, but when everyone is confined inside ...

Having started cruising some 15 years ago with the Thomson Spirit being our first cruise ship and followed this up with other Thomson Cruises we went on to sail on Royal Caribbean, NCL, Princess and some of the European ships with MSC and Costa. Two month ago on the Caribbean Princess we found that all the entertainment was a bit too much orientated toward the American passengers so having read ...

Just returned from 7 day cruise on Tui Discovery 26th Aug ~ 2nd Sept, boarding all went smoothly and in our cabin (7124) before 11.30 . There was a delay with luggage due to technical issues. Had previously sailed on the ship under past owners Royal Caribbean Splender Of The Seas so knew the lay out.The cabin had small balcony with 2 chairs and table, patio doors and balcony metal work all showing ...

First time but was recommended by travel agent, however we had a wonderful time, all the bars were great and friendly staff apart from the grumpy git who mixed the cocktails in the Glass House ( not one smile all week - he shouldn't be doing this job ). Cabins basic but clean, our cleaners were very pleasant - especially Zarina. Food was great and plentiful as were the drinks. Excursions were too ...

Well Done TUI - FAULTLESS CRUISE

Im a bit of a cruise veteran with over 130 cruises since 1986! However 130 of the cruises was as catering staff on the superb liner the Cunard QE2 (late 1980s) and only 2 recently as a passenger! Last year summer 2016 we tried the Thomson Majesty (which was very good value albeit an aging ship) so we decided to try the newly refurbished TUI Discovery and last week we boarded for the Cosmopolitan ...

Boarded ship on the 5th August at Palma, cabin was really a good size on deck seven. Looked round the ship which seemed really good as we have been on quite a few thompson cruises and this was the most impressive of there ships to date. We then called in for a meal at the self service resturant the island, that's when things went down hill, we could not find a seat and the selection of food was ...
