This was our first cruise with Marella. The ship was clean and we'll maintained, the waiting staff and cabin stewards work very hard and we had no issue with them.
Food was poor quality and often overcooked, dry and tasteless. Choices were sometimes limited at breakfast, the only consistently good choice was the omelette station. Portions were small in the Gallery 47 and 47 restaurants, some ...
We booked this cruise 18 months in advance based on the ports then the itinerary changed without us being told. Only found out when we came to book excursions. Also none of the assurances given in the Tui shop were true.
All inclusive - well technically it is, but having paid for premium AI the number of drinks they ran out of made it very unworthwhile. They also ran out of food items ...
We would recommend Marella as a budget cruise option. This was our third cruise with Marella, but we feel there has been a decline in the standards since our last cruise 4 years ago.
Marella still provides more stops than other cruise operators, and the all inclusive nature of the cruise is appealing.
But we noticed that the food in particular was significantly worse than last time. It was ...
We chose Explorer 2 because of the locations visited we have done four cruises now with them over the years but now unfortunately since Covid the quality of the food is appalling Luke warm if you’re lucky and over the years I have used them the menu hasn’t changed . The staff are excellent and always a smile although some of restaurant staff don’t listen to what you want of the menu and couldn’t ...
(P.s.this is a very long review so skip past if you like)
We booked with tui marella as far as i can see its the only cruise that includes your flights and transfers but i could be wrong on that.
Well firstly sorry this is so late (4 months later) but i felt i still needed to do the review as i loved my time on this cruise. This was our first cruise so we dont have anything to compare it ...
1st things 1st - The Marella Voyager is a new to the Marella fleet - we were only the 3rd sailing it had done. Apparently it’s had a full refurb, but there was still some noticeable refurb issues that looks like had been missed. Missing bulbs in various locations, cracked/smashed ceilings in the lifts, rusted paintwork on decks and issues with plumbing.
Food / Restaurants - the have done away ...
We have done around 14 cruises with tui / marella.
Lovely ship but was let down by restaurants!. Been gluten free! I have never had any trouble on any other ships regarding been catered for! . Voyager didn't seem to know much about menus and what exactly what gluten free was!. Had to wait for gluten free bread for 15 mins and then only 3 small pieces offered. Spoke to chef about gluten free ...
Tui Western Med Marella cruise June 2023
Usual TUI disorganisation at Manchester airport. Food in the 47 & 47 gallery was not up to expectations & some of the portions were meagre to say the least. I ordered a side of fried potatoes & received two slices of potatoes. Entertainment in the atrium and squid & anchor was quite poor. The squid & anchor was closed on two nights until 8-45 pm for ...
Have been on 35 previous Thomson/Marella cruises. Always been 100% satisfied. But not with the Voyager. Food was awful. In some cases could not eat it. They have changed the Market Place buffet to The Kitchens. With themed choices. Indian, Chinese, Greek, etc. The food choice was the same every lunchtime, and evening. Which was boring. Some of the food that was served, was uneatable. Toast for ...
This was the first time using Marella and the last. We thought that by using them as it a smaller ship this would be a lovely restful cruise. WRONG!. The ship seemed to be fully booked as there was no room to be had on the sun decks on the sea day or when passengers returned from trips, it was crowded. You could not lay on the decks if you wanted a rest as the ship played loud music most of the ...
