The transfers from start to finish, were smooth. We even were allowed to move cabin and stay on later on the last day, to save us having to wait at the airport for hours for our flight. This cost £35 per person and was well worth it. This was the best cruise I have been on.I liked that it was much smaller ship and that it was older. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you.The food was good and plenty of choice. The cabin was spotless and the lad that did for us, Lewis, deserves a special mention, for being so good at his job and going out of his way to help us when ever he could. The ship was clean and tidy and as it's an older ship yes some of the toilets could have a bit of a whiff about them at times. However given the amount of people they serve I think that can be expected , on a whole though they to were spotless and clean. I really enjoyed it, and hope to go again next year. Read Less

My sister from Canada invited me to go on this Cruise with her friends. The ship was extremely clean. The Shows were awesome. There were many other activities including golf and rock climbing. Every night we enjoyed the entertainment. The stage performances were great. The actors did a wonderful job. I felt as if I was in New York without paying the price for the Broadway show tickets. The crews were outstanding. Food and drinks were delicious and non-stop. I still keep hearing the bell and Mr Spread the love. I met many interesting people. We had great times at Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. I highly recommend this cruise for the perfect sized ship and outstanding crew. It was a peaceful and very enjoyable experience. I definitely will take another trip on the Marella Discovery 2 Ship. I thank the captain for a safe trip and the crew for their hard work and outstanding services. Read Less

Our first time cruiseing 6 of us went for my wife’s 60th birthday her birthday was on gala night when we all met the captain but the waiters still came over with a lovely cake played the guitar an sang happy birthday to her! The staff are fantastic they cannot do enough for you they won’t pass you without asking if you’re okay or a good day or good night I would like to give a special mention about pity ardika on deck 9 he waited on us st the bar and was so friendly and helpful and we’ll be coming back if only to see putu! The facilities on board are very good in fact we didn’t get to use every bar/lounge on ship so although it is not as big as a lot of ships we saw on our travels she’s just the right size for us ! We have just returned from a fabulous 14 day Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Explorer – our 10th cruise and second with Tui Marella. The crew were welcoming and hospitable from the Captain to the young man from Jamaica who was cleaning toilets on decks 5/6. The staff go out of their way to build a good rapport and to make you feel valued, particularly in the Squid & Anchor!! We enjoyed the size of the ship and found it so much better than the extra large super liners than we have experienced in the past, particularly on tender days. The entertainment was varied and high quality as was the food in all restaurants. Our junior suite had an amazing view, extra large balcony with hammock. By comparison, this cabin would have been so much more expensive on other ships. We very much enjoyed the excursions and the 12 port stops out of 14 days. The contrast of cities, beaches, towns was just perfect. Negatives – there was a slight sewage aroma which occasionally filtered into our cabin. However this was not too much of a problem as to spoil our holiday. Pricing – we enjoyed our Caribbean cruise in April 2017 so much that we booked this holiday on return. However, in March 2018, we checked availability and we could have bought the identical cruise for £600 cheaper and there was full availability. We therefore believe that there should be a price promise recognition for those who book particularly early. We have earmarked a cruise for 2019 but will not now book this until next year. All in all, we are very much looking forward to booking another Tui cruise. The All Inclusive is most definitely a plus. Read Less

We have cruised regularly on Thomson (TUI - Marella) and Cunard. We finally persuaded our friends to join us. The Marella Celebration itinerary was excellent as it included Venice, Dubrovnik and Korcular. Some of our favourite places. Marella is less formal than Cunard, uses Sterling and had a great all inclusive deal when we booked. We did a cruise and stay holiday staying on the island of Kolocep just 30 mins from Dubrovnik. This was our first time on the Celebration but we knew her sister ship, the Spirit very well. Our first impressions were very favourable as though the deck layout is almost identical there is a much more modern feel to the Celebration - less vestiges of her Holland America past. The main dining room food was excellent - we ate all our meals there as it’s so much relaxed experience than the Lido. The included drinks were good enough for the most of us though one of our friends who deals in wine thought the Cote de Rhône to be excellent and good value for money. There were no sea days on this cruise - and I do miss a good sea day to relax. I think all that can be said about the age of the ship has been said before. I love the teak decks and the fact she is easy to get around. What gives this ship her heart are the people who work on it, the value for money and the entertainment. We would certainly return if it was the right itinerary. A first for TUI Marella is a welcome back party for loyal cruisers. You have to go to reception to let them know you have cruised with Thomsons before to be eligible. Cunard contact you and know your status - so me thinks Thomson’s weren’t keeping this info. We even received a little badge! We really found no fault with anything on the ship apart from the embarkation process that takes place on the ship - Long long queues We always choose our cabins after studying the deck plan as we like to be central and not near noisy areas. I do think a deck plan should be given out at departure - like other cruise lines. We knew the layout but our friends hadn’t cruised before. The cabin numbers and decks don’t tally. We were on deck 8 bridge deck but cabin 075. Dining - we dined in the Meridian for most of our meals and were very pleased with the food (better than on the Spirit). We celebrated our anniversary in the Mistral Restaurant which was excellent. Not so impressed by the food in the Kora La - the service was excellent in all the places we ate. Ports of call Bari Montenegro- There is a free port transfer bus to Bar - we then took a taxi to Stari Bar. It cost 5€ agree the price first. Stari Bar is no Kotor but still worth a visit. Korcula - tender port. Lovely old town - birth place of Marco Polo. We went for a wine tasting in a local restaurant- god wine but very expensive. It seems that most wine is produced for local consumption only. Zadar - ship to town transfer costs £7 - drop off near the Sea Organ. Lovely town with Roman ruins and great atmosphere. Venice - Get up foe the sail in - it is so peaceful and the only time you see Venicecwithout the masses. There was no organised transfer to St Marks Square but possible to buy tickets for transfer once off the ship. We realise that there appears to be a hop on hop off water bus that may be worth using. We used the People carrier to take us to P le Roma near the Station. We made a mistake of getting a gondola from here. It costs €80 but not the most picturesque trip. Walk further on - there are plenty of gondola’s around in better settings. We followed the signs to the Rialto bridge. The streets/canals up unti this point are relatively quiet. We then visited St Marks Square. We have visited Venice before so wouldn’t have bothered visiting again as it is always heaving but our friends have not visited before. I would strongly suggest pre booking St Marks or Doge’s palace and trip to Guggenheim art gallery.Eat anywhere away from St Marks or Rialto. Trieste - short walk from ship to main shopping area. Hike up to the castle and church well worth it. Public transport runs up to the castle as well. Split - Diocletian palace and medieval town within is amazing - very game of thrones. Well worth a visit. Dubrovnik - We visited Dubrovnik at night on a sunset trip from Kolocep. We sailed into the old harbour - it was a fabulous trip. For those who are only cruising - the ship doesn’t sail till 10 pm so if you have the energy and inclination get the bus to the Pile gate and spend late afternoon/early evening there before she sails. I decided to book the Greek Mystique cruise as my wife has had surgery recently and really needed to recuperate and recover. After check in at Gatwick we didn't see our luggage again until delivered to our cabin I can not tell you how amazing that was not to have to face the hustle and bustle of the airport baggage carousels! I rater enjoyed the main resturaunt as they operate an open seating dining plan so we were able to dine with new people every evening, which when we usually cruise on Seabourn and Azamara we have a fixed table and dining companions for the duration of the cruise -so Marella has hit on a good idea on the occasions where one may be sitted on a dining table with 'cruise snobs'.Which in the past we have had to endure! We are retired although a young 59 and 61, we tend to book 4 cruises per year one for each season. We have one Seabourn and one Azamrara then 2 cheaper options which this year is Marella and Cruise & Maritime to try the other end of the market. The ship Celebration was old as described on CC.reviews, but it was perfectly clean and comfortable. We prefer to have waiter service at meals as my wife isn't always able to stand and queue for periods of time and apart from the very last morning when there was literally not a seat to be had this worked perfectly for us. Our cabin steward was superb so although tips are included we left him cash in an envelope cabin was cleaned and towels replenished twice daily. My wife purchased two Radley handbags which she said were great value. we are not drinkers so didn't opt for the AI Drinks package(due to my wife's medication). We did take excursions which although costly were not exhorbitant but much more importantly safe for my wife's comfort. We ate in Mistrals which was a delight -highly recommended especially drunken prawns delicious! The Ports of call were delightful especially KOTORin Mo ntenegro and sailing out of Dubrovnik at night ! STUNNING. keeping the best till last- just has to be the entertainment. THE showteam were leaving and a new team and Cruise Director was starting the week after we disembarked. They were amazing and the show Africa was wonderful. We really thought it couldn't get any better until Monday when the Guest Act came on to do his show. His name was Christopher Gee and he was superb, my wife laughed so much it was sheer joy to behold. And his comedy impressions were stunning-the thing we could't work out was how can every voice he did be so accurate and yet he even manages to look like each person he takes on. His Tommy Cooper had everyone in stiches, and his Eric Morecambe had us all fighting off a tear at the much loved comedian but the absolute hIghlight was his one man tribute to Dave Allen it was so perfect even down to him holding a whiskey glass with only half a forefinger, his attention to detail was astounding. He recieved a richly deserved standing ovation! The neXt night was his second show and there simply wasn't a seat to be had and extra chairs from the bars were brought in, but the show was totally different Alan Carr/Michael Macintyre/Ozzy/he also did an hilarious BORIS AND Donald Trump had us ill with laughter very up to date you could hear a pin drop and that was after midnight. He was very personable young man and told us he will be on Marella Dream later in the year so we are booking that one too! We love the shows and we don't watch a lot of comedians to be fair- but I just had to post this review as everyone is quick to complain but not always ready to say a big well done Marella for booking a comedian impressionist that did nor offend one single person no un PC material or smut involved just FUNNY!!! The entire ship was talking about him the next day. in all one has to commend Marella ,especially at their price point as I assure you we have got much less from paying 4 times more!!! Read Less

Where do I even begin, This year I was fortunate enough to experience the best holiday imaginable. I booked my holiday through TUI for a two week carirbean cruise on the Marella Discovery 2. This was my first ever cruise and the price and itenary were incredible. The whole holiday was seemless from booking, to flying to arriving to resort to embark the ship. TUI and Marella staff were always on hand to help. We were greeted with the smiliest faces at Montego Bay where we were checked in and directed to board the Cruise. That night we were instructed and reassured on all safety procedures and given a guided tour of the cruiseship to find our bearings whilst our suitcases were delivered to our cabins. Everynight we recieved an entertainment planner for the days entertainment and events as well as an update on the days port, local information, weather for the day, currencys used and things to do. The cruise was all inclusive and having stayed in many 5* all inclusive hotels around the world the food and drink on the cruise may as well have been 10*. The variety, standard, presentaion and flavour were fantastic. There were many retsuarants to use and the only problem i faced was trying not too eat too much or picking where to eat. The staff on the cruise were the best team of staff i have ever come accross on my holidays. Everyone was so warm and friendly and really helped to personalise your holiday and go out of their way to make it special. In the mornings you would have a wake up announcement from Captain Chris and the Cruise Director Martyn who would start you day off with a lovely update on the weather outside, the port, when you could get off the cruise and overall a lovely start to the day. When you go on shore there are so many different things to see and do to experience the fantastic culture and sights. We always booked out excurions through TUI on the cruise and everything we did added value to our holiiday experience and was unique and great for getting out of the country what we wanted to see, do and experience. We never faced any issues with our cabin and never struggled for size. The cabin was cleaned twice a day and two sets of towels also. We were always left chocolates at night and the cleaners were lovely, always said hello when passing in the corridors. TV channels were fab, plenty of films and programmes to choose from and we loved that there were Marella channels to keep you posted with excursions. We always tried to tune into Cruise Director TV to find out whats been on and whats upcoming chilst on board. The pool on the cruise was a great size and perfect way to cool off on a hot carribean day. There was never any issues with sunbeds as there was deck 9 and deck 10 to lay out on. The entertainment team will keep you entertained with poolside games and quizzes as well as laying back to onboard bands and and talented voices to sing poolside. Waiter service aorund the pool was an added bonus as you didnt even have to move to get a drink. The entertainments show team, actor hosts and family hosts really made our holiday. They were all so friendly and always smiling and laughing. The level of enterainment on the Cruise is one of the most professional, talanted and sought after I have ever seen. The entertainment lounge and gameshows venue were always full and you could see from just looking around all of the guests were constantly happy and enjoying as much as us. A big shout out to the whole team and we really hope we get to see you on furture cruises. Your an assest to Marella and TUI and the way you interact and are constanly around your guests socialising and entertaining is incredible. we dont have children but even seeing the childcare team around the pool helping with quizzes and interacting around the cruise was also amazing to see. All of the staff want to inteact with the guests and really go out of their way to make their holiday. The cruise also has a jogging track, a virtual reality room, casino, climbing wall, minigolf, outdoor cinema, nighclub, shops and full spa just to name a few extras. I would 100% recommend a cruise on the Marella Discovery 2 for the best holiday you can ask for. Read Less

This was my second cruise with Thomson, first the Dream 5 years ago and I took some persuading to go on this and I really did not want to leave the ship! Got to the ship at about 11.30am, embarkation was smooth and easy going. Ship compared to the Dream is amazing, we had chosen out aft cabin before we left and were not at all disappointed with this, having our 17 year old son with us there was more than enough room for us all. Bags emptied and put away and nothing left lying. Lots of little cubby holes to stash everything. Nice touch of the Clarins toiletries in the bathroom, kettle and coffee machine also. Sooooooooooooo much to eat and drink, we did not pay the extra to visit the two paying eateries as there was lots of choice. Drinks..........to much. lol There was always something going on whether it be a quiz, or film under the stars, in the show lounge or live music. There was a climbing wall, putting, an escape room, childrens clubs, swimming pools, hot tubs. The ports we stopped off at were really good, we did two trips one to Herculaneum and to Monaco. I would highly recommend this ship to anyone. During the cruise we were docked beside far far larger ships and I just hated the look of them as they just looked to me like floating flats. Albeit I have not been on one and it may be different. Read Less

Im a bit of a cruise veteran with over 130 cruises since 1986! However 130 of the cruises was as catering staff on the superb liner the Cunard QE2 (late 1980s) and only 2 recently as a passenger! Last year summer 2016 we tried the Thomson Majesty (which was very good value albeit an aging ship) so we decided to try the newly refurbished TUI Discovery and last week we boarded for the Cosmopolitan Classics cruise from Palma Majorca. I can honestly say that the cruise was absolutely faultless and it really is a lovely 5 star hotel. Cabins are very spacious , we had a inside cabin on deck 6 which was big enough for 2 people no problem, cabins have aircon which is also very good, SKY TV is available wherever you are at sea or is port so no problem keeping upto date with world news & sports news. Restaurants - The food is very good throughout the ship, Deck 9 - The Islands restaurants is a buffet help yourself with plenty of good choice, also on deck 9 is Snack Shack doing mainly fast food, chips & sarnies & again very nice quick hot food.- Mens Attire for both is very casual , shorts acceptable Deck 9 - The Glass House , indoor small restaurant overlooking the indoor pool by day similar food to The Islands by evening there is a great Steak (cooked on hot stones) for a small supplement of £10.00 each but well worth it, Between 10pm - 1pm Cooked chicken and curry is available is your peckish after a few beers! Deck 5 - Gallery 47 is the Italian restaurant waiter service (overlooking the 47 restaurant below) Very nice restaurant for a special meal with fast service and a choice of starters, mains & desserts Mens Attire Long trousers & collars required Deck 4 - 47 Degrees is the main restaurant ,very plush (on par with QE2 restaurant back in my day!) english fayre menu but very nice indeed. Mens Attire as above Deck 11 - Surf & Turf Steakhouse- This restaurant is an absolute must on your visit! Its busy and first come first served so book early, we managed to get a table on captains cocktail reception night so it made it extra special and honestly the fillet & lobster tails was the best steak i have every tasted, fantastic service from the restaurant staff as well . The highlight meal of the cruise for me. Additional supplement £27.95 each but so worth it. Mens Attire as above. Deck 11 - Sushi bar & Kora La indian restaurant , we didn't try either so cant really comment Bars - Loads of bars everywhere offering all inclusive drinks as part of the package beers on tap Fosters & Strongbow , Beer bottles , Budweiser, Becks, Peroni & Corona plus premium brands Vodka, whosky Baileys & Tia Maria plus numerous cocktails - We didn't upgrade to the extra premium drinks as there was no need really! Deck bars on both 9 & 10 decks also with a few floating bar staff on trolleys and one by the Snack shack also the Venue Bar , broadway Show Lounge, Live Lounge & the very impressive Atrium all all well serviced by waiters who do a fantastic job. Best bar for us was Bar 11 , every night it opens at 5pm till 2am (still all inclusive as well!!) Missy the DJ is superb and keeps everyone in the party mood, You must visit this bar as the view alone is just stunning. TUI have upper their game with tech on this ship, an app is available for smartphones which shows you everything about the cruise, you are issed with a smart card which is your cabin key & on the reverse is a barcode which you flash to the barstaff & they scan it very quickly with no further need to sign anything or give your room number etc , Very impressive and so quick which keeps the queuing down. There lots to do on this ship you will not be bored from young families to the silver surfers there always something going on! Well done to TUI as they have done a great job with this ship and they should be applauded for making the once stuffy cruise life a more family orientated enjoyable experience. Ignore the moaners honestly there is nothing at all to fault this ship, literally the best holiday we have ever had and we will defiantly be booking again. Enjoy it as you will love it ! Read Less

Just returned, 24/09/16 to 01/10/16 from our Mediterranean cruise aboard 'Tui Discovery', Thomson's latest cruise liner acquisition, flew to Palma De Mallorca, where we embarked our ship, embarkation was fairly smooth although we did arrive at the ship's gangway without our passes being validated, though this was a simple process it did mean returning through the queue we had just vacated, it may be worth mentioning at this stage that 'Tui' runs a cashless ship system and that the ship's currency is in : GBP Pounds Stirling, although we had time to explore the departure city, [midnight sailing] we chose instead to explore the ship, our cabin N0.2577 Deck 2 nicely fitted out, plenty of storage for 2 people, complete with hairdryer, kettle, television, safe, and daily supply of tea bags, milk, and coffee, only downside really the shower cubicle could have been a little larger and a fridge would have been nice, however we felt the cabin adequate for our needs. The ship has a modern design and decoration throughout, floors and carpets are spotless, however the first one thing you notice is how friendly the ship's crew and staff are at any time of day, the ship itself has many bars and restaurants, with the later almost in double figures, 2 of them incur a small surcharge, though all serve the most superb food dishes, our favorites were the Island restaurant, self-service with so much choice, 47 degrees, and 47 gallery, for the wife and I the food and service was 10/10. Entertainment another 10/10, different themes every night with 2 shows, and a weekly guest comedian, in our case 'Andre' who was excellent throughout his 2 shows, and not one swear word, highlight for me was Wednesday when they had a legends theme, they played David Bowie's 'Space Odyssey' with spacemen coming up through the stage floor, and the pyrotechnics bellowing out everywhere, brilliant, fantastic tribute. Shore excursions whilst not cheap are a must if you wish to see places of interest, or enlarge upon your knowledge of a certain town or city, we did 2 in all, the 'Godfather Villages' and 'Herculaneum', both were fascinating in their own right, with the villages tour we even met the actress who played 'Michael's [Al Pacino] Mother-in-law, she had a photo still taken at the time, amazing, Herculaneum, unlike Pompeii was covered mainly in silt and mud and so well preserved, as are the mosaics, all in all a great holiday, we chose the holiday mainly for the places of interest itinerary, however this ship really is a class above others, especially in food and entertainment. Finally I really must mention the cabin stewards, who carried out their daily and nightly duties, all went down so well, as did the chocolates they left on our pillows. Happy Holidays and Thank you for reading. Read Less

Some friends asked us if we would like to cruise with them to the Caribbean . My partner had always said he would never ever cruise unless it was to the Caribbean . So we agreed to go , although it was 9 months away I was counting down the days (like a kid at Christmas ). It was decided to go with Thomson Cruises. For a first time cruiser it was brilliant . From flying with the Dreamliner , fantastic !! from when we left the plane to when we got to our cabins it was no more than 40 -45 minutes . The cabins were clean & tidy if a little tired, but there was plenty of space for clothes and everything you needed to hide . The food was top notch in the restaurants. All the staff were all brilliant , and everyone smiled at you no glum faces any-where. The entertainment was very good and the staff productions were brilliant . We only used taxies what ever port we stopped at , they took you wherever you wanted to go (normally the beach ) for a fixed fee of 14 dollars . On the day of departure our plane was not due to leave un till 6.00 p.m .but we were allowed to stay on board until we were due to leave for the airport .,which I thought was very good customer service. For our second cruise we wanted to try a bigger ship, so we are going NCL Epic at the end of September for a Mediterranean Cruise. Read Less

Forgot to write a review at the time but just want to say what a fantastic cruise we had! We did the transatlantic from the canaries over to the Caribbean. It was our first cruise and we loved every minute of it. The ship was great- very clean, great food, fantastic staff! The entertainment was out of this world, wouldn't find better in the West End! We were in an outside plus cabin which was a great size for 3 adults. The theme of our cruise was big band and we enjoyed music by the fantastic Greg Francis Orchestra! I did the river tubing excursion in Grenada with Thomson which was such good fun, would highly recommend it to others. As it was Christmas time, they ran a gingerbread house decorating competition and we won a trip to the hot stone restaurant on board. The Atlantic crossing was so calm, you wouldn't have even known you were on a boat. The whole process was made so easy from the beginning from being picked up from the airport and escorted to our cabin to them holding the plane on the way home due to the transfer bus being delayed by traffic. I wish I could go back and relive every moment of the cruise as it was so magical and really was a dream...can see where it gets it name! The passengers on the ship are so friendly and have even stayed in contact with a few. So impressed by Thomson that have booked another cruise around the canaries at the end of March 2016. Read Less

Just returned off of the Celebration having been before was not expecting the glamour of the larger cruise liners but it still lived to our expectations if you are looking for a fun time without the glitz then would recommend this ship which I understand will be Adult only in June. There were only a handful of children on this cruise anyway but in my opinion that will make it even better. If you like a drink then get the drinks package the only (Not so Good)was the bars kept running out of diet coke and tried to parm you off with coke zero while this is only a preference it made you have to ask again and waste a drink which they got a bit touchy about but soon resolved they also try to sneak the odd local brand drink in so continually had to specifically to make sure it was Bacardi and not Ron Blanca. Flights and transfer all OK and smooth although Marmaris is 1.5 hrs from Dalaman but it's not to bad. We had a suite on our first cruise with Thomson but as not available opted for deluxe outside which was slightly smaller but ideal for us Some dirty ports in Egypt but that's not their fault so if your not going to the Pyramids stay on the boat! Overall hats off to Thomson we had a great time we travelled with Cunard In April on the Queen Victoria I would rate the service atmosphere and entertainment far better on the Thomson Celebration Read Less

Recently went on a Thomson Dream back to back cruise sailing from Palma. Overall we had a fantastic time and our worries were totally unfounded. As with many other passengers we to had watched the BBC review last year on Watchdog. Our cruise party consisted of eight passengers, two had never cruised before while four others had cruised with Celebrity last year and my wife and myself who have now cruised four times on four different lines (Previously Celebrity, Ocean Village, Island Cruises). From the time we embarked to our dis-embarkment the crew were fantastic the entertainment was geared up for British passengers which was probably 95% if not more of the total passengers on board. The food was excellent in the Orion restaurant an there was also a good selection in the buffet restaurants, although we did prefer the more formal waiter service in the Orion. The ship was looking a little tired in a few places but the main areas were good and you can see there is work in progress to improve facilities. One main concern was the before we cruised was the toilet facilities especially on the pool decks and public areas which we thought may be dodgy after watching the watchdog review but it was obvious that these had been completely refurbished and our worries were unfounded. The overall atmosphere on the ship was great which was night and day compared to Celebrity where people seemed afraid to let their hair down and were more concerned with their own self importance. My wife and I were worried that the ship may be a let down for the people in our party who had only on Celebrity Four of our party had only been on Celebrity Eqinox before but they much preferred the Thomson Dream and apart from the obvious size of the ship in comparison thought that most of the amenities were similar. The only possible downside to the cruise was probably the very busy itinerary of ports, we could of done with maybe an extra day at sea as it began to get a little tiring as the two weeks went on. I suppose it was our choice to visit every port though! As mentioned before the ship is obviously a work in progress for Thomson and if they continue to renew some of the older more tired parts of the ship I do not see why there would be any compaints. The cabins were nice and spacious but the bath, although very clean, had seen better days as had some of the corridor carpets are worn other than that everything seemed in good order. I would recommend this ship to anyone who likes to be entertained in a friendly atmosphere. The all inclusive package was also good, although I'm not really sure that it was included in the price as advertised when we booked as the cuise was not cheap at any stretch of the imagination!! Lastly, a big thank you to Dennis, Thom and Alan who looked after us in the Orion Restaurant and provided a memorable night for one of our party on her Birthday. Overall a great holiday!!! I obviously can't speak for everyone who has sailed on the dream, but i do think some people get on the ship and concentrate all their time on finding faults. On one of the previous reviews, one of the passengers complained that the only place on the ship to get any peace and quiet was in his cabin.Did he not visit the argo lounge, the library, the deck behind ladontes or the side of the ship which was decked out with sunbeds and a lot of snoring. The word nitpicking springs to mind. Well humpty,jumpty.trumpty,stumpty.grumpty and lumpty had an unbelievable time. Let me start with negatives.Thomson should employ someone to look after sunbeds because far too many people put towels on sunbeds and then get off the ship to visit a port and return 6 hrs later. You then see people walking round the ship looking for a sunbed which can cause friction. Also you can get an odd whiff but very rarely. Trips are a bit expensive and some of the ports repetetive and boring. Positives. Staff fantastic, food amazing.entertainment unbelieveable. You really have to try and vary your options of an evening to take everything in.Quizzes of an afternoon in sirens and evening in the medusa were a great laugh. The shows in the amazing atlanta theatre were of a really high standard, great dancers, great voices, some really talented people. Auctions, comedians, bingo wahay, competitions, karaoke, you really could not ask for much more. If like us you are on the all inclusive package, you will not be disappointed, but be warned,do not go to casino after a few too many, because when my bill came under the door my missus found it first,oh oh. The only people who were'nt smiling on board were professional whingers. The captain was also good for a laugh and we will definitely be sailing on the old lady again.Agood time was had by all. P.S.9 euros return to rome if you go by train 45 mins. Read Less
