We chose this cruise for the itinerary.
From checking in with no ques ( Manchester ) to having our luggage outside our door within 1 hour of getting to the room everything was easy sailing.
As it was a special occasion we chose to upgrade to a junior cabin suite on the 8th floor.
Wonderful views each morning at on the balcony as we docked.
The crew were fantastic both our cabin steward ...
My wife and I flew from London Gatwick to Barbados in January 2018 to join the Marella Discovery cruise ship for a two week back to back cruise in the Caribbean. Overall it was a good cruise but as usual nothing is perfect.
The flights.
We flew both ways on the Dreamliner and it didn’t really live up to its name. Its at least as noisy as the A380 and not as comfortable. The TUI system of ...
Booked just 5 days before start of Cruise, bit dubious over the size of ship as I prefer smaller more intimate ones and wary of the 'All Inclusive' standard of food and drink. However, glad I went ahead as I really enjoyed the whole experience. The ship is well kept and despite her age provides a comfortable and modern cruise experience. I had an outside single cabin on deck 3. Adequately ...
Had only been on one cruise before and that was on the Star Clipper. Thought we’d try a bigger ship to see if it would convert us to cruising. The Premiun Club service was excellent from start to finish and the whole luggage handling process was incredibly stress free. Our cabin was adequate, clean, had a balcony and we were well looked after by Adi our steward. The weather was mainly hot and dry ...
This was our third cruise with Thompson’s and compared to the first two the food was poor. In the Islands restaurant it looked so unappetising, and was bland. They are needing more staff, tables took ages to clear, not the staffs fault as they work so hard. Food in 47 was often Luke warm and one night in the Italian part it took 1 hour 20 minutes and we were still to have our desert. We paid in ...
Paradise Islands cruise - St Marteen and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, St Kitts, Antiqua, St Vincent and Barbados.
The ship was amazing. It still has the smell of fresh carpets. It is immaculately clean. Hand sanitisers all over too.
We were surprised at the number of staff on-board - there is someone to tend to your every need.
Getting off the ship and finding something to do ...
I have written to tui 4 times to complain about the holiday but have not had any satisfaction.
The dreamliner plane and staff were not good. One person landed without a seatbelt, and the seat in front of us was not in an upright position as it was broken.
We were herded from plane to ship.
Some staff on the ship were unhelpful, and rude.
The food was dreadful. Very monotonous, ...
Had a great time on the discovery.outside cabin deck 2 looked after by the superb supandy served it's purpose for us.only thing missing was a fridge.the safe in our room was operated by swiping a credit/debit card.i took an expired card (after reading review)and all was well.we dined most nights sharing tables in the mdr.we met some great people and had some fab meals.we had one bad experience.one ...
this was our first cruise for my husbands 60th birthday there was eight of us and i have to say totally disappointed with it all for what we paid everyone said you love it and you go again but certainly not with this company.Food was always warm the main restaurants was nothing to talk about then there was another one called 47 food was ok but always cold waiters was lovely the entertainment was ...
Well, we have just recovered and accepted the fact we are back from two fantastic weeks in the Caribbean, aboard the Discovery. So, here is my review.
Let me say at the outset that there will be a few gripes, but more whoopees! But I have decided to voice them, mainly for the benefit of those who have cruised Thomson/Tui before as there were a few contrasts we observed. Even so, whether you ...
