I thought I would take this opportunity to write a review of our 2 week (7 day back to back ) Caribbean Island Cruise on the Marella Voyager. 21st Jan to 4th Feb 2024. We booked it for my 60th birthday which fell mid holiday. Having only been on one cruise previously ( 10 days Mediterranean on Celebrity ) we stiil feel we are relative novices at this type of holiday. Before I start to make my ...
We had an amazing 2 weeks on this ship. i will say that the buffett was lovely but it was the same every day.
We ended up in the restaurants for a change.
We had a balcony cabin and it was lovely. the house keeping we just could not fault. in twice a day fresh coffee and tea.
If you put your towels on the bsthroom floor you get fresh ones. you get beach towels too.
If You get ...
Overall this was a very disappointing cruise. It was always overcrowded with limited sunbeds during sea days and seats in the evening.
Everywhere you went you had to queue up. We only ever had the use of a waiter on two occasions in a fortnight. Every drink had to be queued for at the bar. The service was really poor. A great selection of drinks to enjoy when eventually you did get ...
We have sailed with Marella, Thomson, Tui for somewhere between 15 to 20 cruises. We have loved sailing with them, but this last cruise has left us questioning whether we should try other cruise providers.
The ship is something of a mixed bag. Crew as always with one exception were excellent. The entertainment was good, I thought it was better than many of our recent cruises with them. The ...
We have always booked with TUI, and as my uncles 50th birthday was approaching last year we decided to book a cruise around the Caribbean! My aunt and uncle unfortunately had to cancel due to health reasons but myself, mum and dad still went. Our flight out was on the 28th December 2023 and we flew home from Barbados (one of the negative factors, nothing on TUI or Marella though) on the 11th ...
Memorable cruise but unfortunately memorable for all the wrong reasons, if you’re looking for a cruise with good food, luxury accommodation, excellent service, then do not book this. Butlins has more quality than this cruise. Food was typical British like Bacon, eggs and baked beans for breakfast. Buffet at dinner had a lot of choice but wasn’t the best quality, cold food and over cooked.
If ...
From booking in our local tui store, this was an almost perfect holiday. Flights, transfers including the police escorts, room, room service, food & drink eat in market place for breakfast and lunch then eat in latitude restaurant most evenings, evening show in show lounge were all 100%. We didn't do many excursions but went a shore every time we could. The main reason for this trip was to visit ...
This was our first cruise with Marella and we were full of expectation for Christmas in the Caribbean.
Our first problem was at Gatwick airport where the push back machine broke and it took 2 hours to dismantle and check all the wheels before we could fly off, granted this wasn't a problem caused by Tui. On arrival at Bridgetown airport we sat on the plan for a further 1 1/2 hours whilst they ...
Just back from our Caribbean cruise, which we mostly enjoyed. I did this cruise in 2020 on Explorer 2, which I would say was slightly better than Voyager, mainly because of the food set up. I understand that the object of serving people in the Kitchens is to avoid waste, but I still observed lots of half finished plates being left, so they need to go back to self serving buffet, which would avoid ...
The ship was clean and well decorated. The dining area was nothing special, low ceilings and dark. No wow factor. Cabin was a good size and it was good to have a decent size shower and bathroom. Entertainment I thought was great. I had very good night's and was up dancing most nights. We really did have some good laughs. The only thing that let the holiday down was the food. The choices were very ...
