We chose this cruise as we had always wanted to see Gibraltar a d it's a place well worth a visit, however the cruise experience is pretty dire, we are regular cruisers and can honestly say this is the worst ever, we don't usually moan but this is a much needed warning.
The ship is very old and tired with what seems to be a shortage of staff, every day we had to queue to get into breakfast, ...
Currently on board Discovery 2 this ship is very tired with threadbare carpet on the stairs showers with no water pressure, food is ok but nothing special ate in the Kora La yet again not brilliant but ok, we are regular cruisers with tui and all i can say is this is the worst ship in the fleet.
We had a junior suite the balcony was disgusting rust and flaking paint, you no longer get clarins ...
Firstly, thank you Marella for making a difficult cruise very pleasant.
We booked this cruise when it was first advertised months ago thinking there was a good chance that it would be cancelled......it wasn't and we arrived at Southampton on the 10th September, with some exitement but fulll of intrepidation and expectance of difficulties from Covid 19 new proceedures. We had pre booked a ...
First real opportunity to cruse since the pandemic started and Marella have always been a good company to cruise with.
Firstly it was nice to board a Marella ship at a southern British port (it would be nice if this could become a regular thing!!)
The procedure for boarding the ship was very well organised from arriving at the port to boarding the ship.
Once on board the ship you could ...
We haven’t been on cruise for a few years now and thought it would be good to get away without having to fly. We chose this cruise as it was adults only, all inclusive and reasonably priced. We also wanted to try Marella as we have heard good things, usual comment was ships are a bit older but service and food really good. The reduced capacity meant that it never felt crowded and relatively ...
Second cruise with Tui Marella but first as a solo. Met some lovely people as 2 solo reps. Hard to find a quiet spot except in my cabin as background music everywhere and usually of some screeching woman. Asked them to turn off but staff couldn't. Not at all relaxing. Terrible smell from drains or kitchen near dining rooms. Perhaps due to age of ship. Everywhere spotless clean and sanitisers ...
First holiday after lockdown !
Online check in etc was very good and easy to use.
Good website and on board app.
Embarkation including testing was excellent - fast and efficient.
All inclusive holiday with a great selection of drinks .
Adults only !!! Very important for us.
Excellent friendly service all round.
About 1/2 full ship so lots of room , easy to get served and ...
We were kindly invited to join a friend (who I had worked with for 4 months on an NHS Test & Trace mobile testing unit) and her partner on this 2-night sailing as they wanted to try it to see if they would like cruising. Obviously, they were conscious that with all the current COVID-19 protocols in place, this sailing would not be like any ‘normal’ cruise, but hopefully it would give them a good ...
Oh the great debate: to cruise or not to cruise amid a global pandemic? But like most folks, after 15 months of restrictions, we decided to take a punt on a Western UK cruise - thinking that was least likely to be cancelled.
I’ll be honest - we would not have considered a spin around GB under any other circumstances.
We had not travelled with Marella before. But we’re impressed by the fare ...
This was the inaugural cruise for fare paying passengers and was for three days visiting Dover and Portland and due to COVID when not sitting eating or drinking all passengers and staff had to wear a mask when moving about the Ship and had to undertake a daily temperature check.
Any way we were given a boarding time of 12 o'clock on the day of departure and when we arrived were shocked to ...
