First river cruise

Review for ms Serenity to Europe - River Cruise

Food aspires to be top notch, but doesn’t achieve it. Waiting staff, some very good others less so. My disappointment was the beds, uncomfortable and hard to get into and out of. No comfortable chair owing to limited space. Ship clean, efficient, and organised. Cruise manager very good at his job. Entertainment was by a talented chap named Randy, one man with a lot to do by himself, he did ...

Rhine Cruise

Review for Lady Anne to Europe - River Cruise

We had been on a Celebrity cruise several years ago and really disliked it. It was the attraction of a much smaller boat with less than 100 people on board that really appealed. Unfortunately with only a few days to go we were told that our itinerary had to change due to low levels of water in the Rhine, we were offered a Mosel cruise instead. We had the opportunity of a refund but given that the ...

Having done many ocean cruises we decided to try a river cruise and this itinerary was ideal, we were fully escorted from St Pancras and the escort/guide was very good. The food in the first week was very good, comparable with sea cruising without the wide choice of menu however for the second week was not quite as good. Lunch was initially served in the dining room but was then changed to the ...

Wanting to visit cities on the Rhine that we had not been to before. Overall it was a good Cruise the Staff like on any Cruise are fantastic. The Ports of call were great & well organised. The food was OK my wife said the Fish dishes were good, my Meat dishes not so. We had been on this Ship 3 years ago & knew what to expect. The Boarding was smooth & we noticed that the lounge/Bar area had ...

World War 1 theme

We chose this cruise to discover World War 1 history. It included two excellent speakers, one of whom had written a book on Pashendaele, and excellent excursions with knowledgeable tour leaders. The ship is small and cosy with extremely friendly staff. There were several ways of getting to the ship and we made our own way. Some did Eurostar, others flew and another group took the ferry. As ...

My friend and I chose this cruise from The River Cruise Line as it went up the Danube to Vienna, Bucharest, Bratislava and other smaller places. It was our first cruise and we weren't sure what to expect. We needn't have worried. The coach took us to Passau where we joined ms Serenity. Embarkation and disembarkation at the various stopping places went very easily. The ship was very clean and well ...

This Cruise, our first, was booked over the occasion of my 70th birthday, Always an ambition of mine to cruise the Rhine and I was not disappointed. The crew from the Captain downwards were very friendly and efficient, I can give an accolade to the executive chef Clinton James for his fabulous food and its presentation. The ship was a delight to sail on despite all the troubles of the River Cruise ...

German Christmas Markets

Being a big fan of Christmas markets, this cruise is an ideal way to see some of the best without the hassle of an airport. My husband and l had never cruised before but were very impressed both with the Tour Manager Ed and coach driver Steve from Cruiseline and the multi talented captain and staff aboard the Lady Anne .Granted, this is a cruise aimed at a certain age group but l wouldn't let that ...

Hull is a lot better than travelling down to Dover.

We chose this because it departs from Hull to Rotterdam on P&O Ferries & then the coach takes us to the Lady Anne ship. This is much better than the long coach travel to Dover. The food on the Lady Anne was superb as was the service of the staff. The only bad thing was the very steep stairs (X2) to & from the lounge to the dining room. Our coach driver, Mark, of Llew Jones coaches for "The ...

Went with the River Cruiseline on the Lady Anne Amsterdam & Bulbfield Spectacular Cruise 26th April 4 nights 5 days (not really because we were travelling for two of these days). Having done some research we decided to make our own way to Dover and opted to stay pre and post nights at the Ramada (room was acceptable but the food was awful) so when our lovely driver David from Port Talbot managed ...
