Economy New Years dream cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Explorer

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was fantastic. The weather made it for everyone. The service in the Latitude bar was good (thankyou Ronaldo & Ririn). The ship is dated, the cabin with extended outside balcony was tired & worn, the balcony being as big as the room which we thought was weird, The beds were uncomfortable and the bed linen and towels were old with that yellow ...

Disappointing Cruise

Let's start with the staff. Most of them were polite and extremely helpful. The entertainment staff put on some great shows. Johnny the cruise director did a fabulous job. A cabin is a cabin. We were inside. So we got what we expected. Unfortunately, we had to ask for the milk and coffee to be topped up as it wasn't done so. Ok, only a small thing. But it means a great deal. You feel ...

Great food but dirty cabin!

Had great food on this cruise and the entertainment was first class too. Shame about the cleanliness. Had to call the domestic staff in to address the issue and still fell short of acceptable. Have left the feedback for the cruise line and they haven't bothered to respond. I would travel with them again but I would be prepared to clean my own cabin next time. With covid and norovirus I think we ...

Poor week

We have been with TUI many times before but this last trip has been the worst. From the start the Covid pass checking process was a shambles, you couldnt here the safety video and the whole thing took to long. The standard of food on offer in the buffet has gone down in my opinion, from the meat selection to the standard of cooking, even the vegetables were not cooked properly, the selection ...

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Marella Explorer

Did a stay and cruise. Tenerife and the Canary islands. Once again same as 2020 food in hotel far better than cruise, this never used to happen. Waiter and bar service, can't criticise the staff they work very hard. The staff numbers are well down on the day when they were owned and run by Thomson or Island Cruises. The shows, again the singers and dancers were very very good, it's the content its ...

If this ship is to go by then Marella standards have fallen fast

We are frequently Cruise and always choose our cruise for the itinerary and as Explorer was the only ship in the canaries at our chosen dates that is the ship we chose. Embarkation was smooth and luggage delivered promptly. Our first evening we went to dinner in the main dining room Italian section. We put the poor service and the very mediocre food down to the fact it was the first night and ...

Staff and ship lovely. Food is great. Make sure you don't miss out on the tapas as it's amazing and inclusive just make sure to book it on the app. Vista is also a great place to eat especially the carbonara which for just five pounds more is prepared in a giant parmasan wheel at your table and is super tasty. Good service. What let's it down is the passengers. From threats of physical ...

A very noisy cabin. Marella's standards have declined, our last cruise with them

After an uneventful flight from Stansted, when we arrived at Tenerife we were directed by a Tui rep. to leave the airport and turn left.! There we encountered a large crowd whom after asking other passengers were made aware “we” were queueing - for over two hours - for coach transfer to the ship. This was totally unacceptable as we had left home at 06:30. When we eventually got on the correct ...
