First cruise

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Azura

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

This was my first cruise, I originally booked as a solo traveller but a friend asked to join me, I booked directly with P&O so changing my booking was really easy. From start to finish the trip was well organised, P&O sent regular updates and lots of pre-cruise information. The food was great, with lots of variety, the entertainment was varied and to a good standard and the crew were awesome, in ...

everything was great , food, service ,entertainment . embarking azura was very smooth and we were soon onboard. the staff looked after our main luggage from the transfer coach and it duly arrived at our cabin quickly . in the evening we decided to use the anytime dinning option as we wanted a table for two and were looked after by waiters john and arnold who couldn't do enough for us .the food ...

Excellent Service All The Way

Please dismiss the ' moaners and groaners ' reviews, they are totally out of order. Jet2 P&O charter flight from Manchester was good, on arrival in Tenerife one does need to collect luggage, and it's a short walk to the coach, it then arrives in your cabin very quickly. Coach transfer around 45 minutes, embarkation very quick we were on the ship within 5 minutes. ( For a very special treat ...

Much improved from summer reviews

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Divina

This was my very first Transatlantic cruise. I booked it early because the low price was too great to miss out on. Then I started reading the reviews coming out during summer and was worried I would have a bad experience. It seems the cruiseline was reading them also. Most of the staff on our sailing had only been working on the ship for 2 months or less, which means they fired all the old ...

We booked as a late 50th for me and a first cruise for my partner - a PF grade on a select about 8 months out. It was more about seeing what she would think of a longer time at sea - she's done a fair bit of minicruising and this was my 4th cruise but first Oceanic. Booking and the Flycruise element - easy but for some reason I couldn't select a cabin, even in an upgradeable fare class. Not ...

The absolute best trip EVER

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azura

Loved it, start to finish, loved it! It sounds gushy but for once I have no complaints about a single thing on a holiday. (except Tenerife airport - who couldn't organise a p*&!up in a brewery!!) Staff were amazing throughout the entire ship, the ship itself was clean, tidy, well run. We were always kept informed of what was going on via the daily newspaper popped in our door - every day, ...

Stressful and underwhelming

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Azura

Cruise for Christmas! Sounds lovely right Except for bacon found in a vegan meal. Plastic found in the buffet tikka masala and rude receptionists who get defensive when you tell them something is wrong rather than helping and then ignore you until you go away. A virtual queuing system that doesn’t work despite the receptionists and restaurant staff swearing by it. All the specialty restaurants ...

Better than expected, and great value

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Azura

I don't often write reviews, but having read some of the poor reviews left recently for this ship (which I feel are overly critical), I felt I should. We sailed in the Canaries in early Dec. We are experienced cruisers (Elite members on Princess, and sailed on many other lines), but have only done P&O a few times. Reading the recent reviews, I wasn't expecting too much, but then again, this ...

Inaugural Sailing on Carnival Vista

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Carnival Vista

We are frequent cruisers and had previously sailed in the Carnival Breeze - Mediterranean Cruise and loved it. Flew into Venice Italy and spent a couple of days there, took shuttle to Tenerife, Italy to board the ship. The shuttle service at Venice Marco Polo Airport to the Port located at Tenerife, Italy was very disorganized; a disaster. Had to walk a good distance from the airport ...

Few frills, few faults

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on MSC Armonia

User Avatar

After reading some of the reviews, our expectations were not that high but thought that, for what we were paying, it would be a cheap break. As we were already in Tenerife, we were not part of a large group so Check In was extremely efficient and quick, but unfortunately, no one told us that there was a shuttle to get to the ship, so we had quite a walk along the dockside. We were on board at ...
