We are frequent cruisers and had previously sailed in the Carnival Breeze - Mediterranean Cruise and loved it. Flew into Venice Italy and spent a couple of days there, took shuttle to Tenerife, Italy to board the ship. The shuttle service at Venice Marco Polo Airport to the Port located at Tenerife, Italy was very disorganized; a disaster. Had to walk a good distance from the airport arrivals, across a street, down a long sidewalk, cross the street again and into a parking lot carrying all my luggage in the rain and following the Shuttle Guide walking swiftly. Felt really bad for older persons and persons with disabilities. Once we arrived where the buses were located they could not makeup their minds which bus would be loaded first. Yes, all this while we were in the rain and it was cold. At the port it did not get any better. Employees were not sure what to door where to direct us that we ended up carrying our own luggage on board. Once on board it was smooth sailing. We recognized many of the crew from previous sailing with Carnival. They really picked most of the best Crew Members from there fleet. The ship is beautiful, tropical and spacious and filled with activities. The ports of call were awesome. We had previously visit some of the ports on our itinerary but opted to go on different tours. My husband and I enjoyed our cruise on the Carnival Vista soooo much that we booked for the March 5th, 2017 sailing from Miami, Florida. So far booked 5 rooms so our family could also experience this ship. Defiantly looking forward to the Carnival Horizon to set sail in 2018. VIFP Platinum Members, soon to be Diamond Members Read Less

We booked this repositioning cruise as our second trip on this ship. We paid a little extra for cabin 373, which we had on the last cruise, it is a four berth cabin used by two guest, as we were grateful for the extra space as well as wardrobe and draw space. The cabin had TV, kettle, safe(at extra charge) aircon. and a fridge. The shower was small but had a hair dryer, tissues and very usable soap, shower gel and shampoo. Towels were changed daily on request and sheet every couple of days. The cabin and it's size were described acutely in the ships details. Guests must remember that this ship is elderly and small, only 40k tons, and cannot be compared with larger ships, 95k tons and above. The cabins will therefore be smaller and the ship will bounce more in a rough sea. Our cabin was clean and well serviced by the chambermen who couldn't do enough to help you. We tried the waiter service, buffet and The Bistro (extra charge)restaurants . The food was varied and plentiful. You could eat from 6am until 2am if you wanted to. In the waiter service restaurants some portions were a little small but served as part of a 6 course meal. The Bistro was fabulous and well worth the £19.95 per person extra. Our only complaint was that meat tended to be cook "well done" when we like it less cooked and on occasions the food was not hot but was changed immediately this was pointed out. We booked two tours, one in Rome and one in Florence. Our first with Thomson. Both were well organised and efficiently run but perhaps a little expensive. We had a great holiday and would use this ship again but all cruisers should be realistic about it's age and size. A lower cabin is better in rough seas that a upper one. Read Less

My 86 year old Mum treated me to this cruise and paid for a Balcony. Price included drinks package. Embarkation went smoothly and soon shown to our cabin,No 916. This is when the disaster started. The WHOLE of the balcony had a lifeboat in front of it with the supporting frame work on either side so the only way to get any view at all was to stand up on tip toes and peer over the top of the lifeboat. Overhead there was a VERY noisy air vent making talking IMPOSSIBLE! This made the balcony totally impossible to use. We requested a move to another balcony but told the ship was full. I cant begin to tell you how upset my lovely mum was. For her a big part of the holiday is sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. On making a formal written complaint we were told the balcony was classed as 70% obstructed and they had had complaints before! We were offered £5 PPPN plus £50 for our disappointment. This we turned down and will pursue our claim via the courts if necessary. Bathroom. Toilet lost its flush 3 times but worse than that smelt disgusting the whole 2 weeks. Mould on the grouting. Basin cracked. Food. Poor choice and always COLD! Salads consisted of a bowl of lettuce plus a thin (and I mean thin) slice or 2 of tomato if you were lucky! On Captains night Mussels were on offer. They meant MUSSEL, singular! What a joke. Drinks package. OK of you drank the house wine. All spirits seemed very weak and not sure what happened to some of the alcohol content in some of the cocktails. A vast majority of drinks you had to pay a supplement for but coffee included and that was very good. Ports. Great port stays. Just as well as they made up for the ship. Only went on 1 excursion. Very expensive. For the rest we took the local transport. Very easy and cheap to use, especially into Rome. A day travel card 12 euros and took 55 minutes. Ships cheapest trip £85. This was our third and very definately our last Thomson cruise. Read Less

Just returned from our fifth cruise on the good old M.P. around the Norwegian Fjords and perhaps it was one too many. As usual embarkation/disembarkation was fantastic. Sitting in Captains club at 09.15hrs and in car, cases loaded and on our way back home 09.26hrs. Brilliant. The ship as we have come to expect was extremely clean throughout, especially our cabin. The food was excellent in both the Waldorf and Marco's. The itinerary was well thought out. However I don't know if some of the crew have moved ship (Is it really up for sale?) but the service in the bars was AWFUL. We sat in the Palm Garden each night and waited, and waited and waited for our drinks order to be taken, but to no avail. So went to the bar and there was the waitress chatting to the barman. On the last night we said we would see how long it took for our drinks order to be taken, But after half an hour gave up and moved into the Captain's Club. (Starboard side) which was no better, plenty of waiting staff chatting at the bar, so moved over to Port and got served straight away. Never used to be like this. Plus on the Gala night in the Waldorf when we are all in our best bib and tucker, the wine waiter (Starboard side) did a trick with a tray of wine. After placing 3 glasses of free sparkling wine to some of the diners on our table, he then proceeded to tip the remaining 3 glasses over my wife. She was soaked from head to toe, posh frock soaking (Spoilt ?) So ladies if you are dining in the Waldorf on Gala night, ignore the dress code and come in your muck (As bring a raincoat). There really seems to be a dumbing down of staff on the M.P. Which is a shame ,as we have had some brilliant cruises on this vessel. Will have to go elsewhere for the next one by the looks if it.
