First time, but won't be the last!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Explorer

This was our first cruise and as a couple in our 40's and 50's we really didn't know what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and with my partner being a coeliac nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic food options in all restaurants, you just wouldn't get service like this in a hotel. Everywhere was so clean and staff were super friendly. Branded drinks were ...

The good: The servers were well trained, always pleasant, very efficient, and eager to serve. Our room was well maintained and when there was a problem it was solved quickly. The food was wonderful with a variety of options. The excursions were timely and organized. The not so good: we felt nickel and dimed. For example, we upgraded to include beer and wine but it only applied when we were ...

Oceania is not what it was

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Sirena

We have just returned from a 12 night cruise on Oceania Sirena from Tenerife to Southampton. Oceania used to be our favourite cruise line both for its itineraries and the quality of the food. We had a particularly memorable 35 day cruise around Australia on the same ship back in 2017. We were on this cruise because we had booked to go on the third cruise of their new ship Vista in 2023 but this ...

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Azura

The ship is very poor and needs a full refit. Lots of toilets out of order, hazard tape on floor, viruses on board. Main dining room up selling of food now if you want quality. Long wait for tables in evening. The buffet areas close when they want them to, mainly roast chicken diner and curry both lunch and evening meal, choice of food is very poor. The headliners team do provide good shows but ...

Disappointing Experience

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Azura

We booked a suite on Azura 20 months prior to the cruise for a special birthday and received written confirmation that we were allocated first sitting dining with a request for a table of two in line with P&O’s Select booking. However on embarkation our butler advised that we had been allocated freedom dining as the fixed dining venues were full. We advised that this was unacceptable and the ...

A solid effort from the little fish in the big pond of cruising (2 Regular Marella Cruisers)

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marella Explorer

Party: 2 adults aged 30 and 64, previously cruised three times with Marella (Dream, and Explorer 2 x2), with NCL 4 times (Jade, Breakaway x2 and Prima), and 3 other cruises in the early 00s on now defunct lines. We don't have any disabilities, we didn't use the casino and we didn't travel with kids, so we can't comment on these. If you have read my reviews before you'll know that we cruised ...

Things ain’t what they used to be …

Have cruised many times, usually on P and O, this time we flew to Tenerife, cruised around Canaries, Madeira, mainland Spain, Sardinia, and Greece. We really enjoyed the ports, flights were good too. The staff on board Azura were lovely, very hard working and always willing to please. Our cabin was a balcony and light and airy, but showing its age. However, we found all the cutbacks took ...

Nice break away

I travelled as a solo woman in her mid 40’s. I chose this cruise as it wasn’t much more expensive than booking a land based holiday, the comparing solo supplements etc. I flew in on the Saturday with Tui, but it was on an airplane ran by Titan airways, so P&O contracted to TUI who contracted out again to Titan. Made the thank you announcements quite long! Flight was comfortable and plane ...

Noisy and congested

The ship is smart and kept clean and tidy. There is a large crew of very efficient staff who are friendly, polite and always willing and available to give top-notch service. The ship is a good size and easy to find one’s way around. Embarking and disembarking are quick and efficient. The cabins with balconies are compact with good storage and are well serviced with a nightly ...

This was my first cruise, I originally booked as a solo traveller but a friend asked to join me, I booked directly with P&O so changing my booking was really easy. From start to finish the trip was well organised, P&O sent regular updates and lots of pre-cruise information. The food was great, with lots of variety, the entertainment was varied and to a good standard and the crew were awesome, in ...
