We have sailed on 5 cruise lines and once before on Royal. We chose this cruise specifically for the itinerary.
We flew in the day of the cruise and embarked right on the ship with no wait. It was nice to see Royal hires so many senior citizens to direct you through the terminal but that should have really been my 1st inclination.
We boarded with no issue and were herded to the open dinning ...
Pre-cruise:
Stayed (2 nights) at the Hampton Inn Ybor City - great location - safe - right in the heart of Ybor City. We dined at Bernini on 7th Avenue - not to be missed.
Embarkation: Vision of the Seas
Smooth, pleasant, quick, and we appreciated the extra assistance from the staff helping us with the wheelchair.
Cabin:
Large accessible cabin on deck 8 - very quiet - and steps away ...
Overall a very pleasant cruise. Our fourth cruise with Royal Caribbean and ninth overall.
Ship is older and smaller but nicely refurbished. We had a junior site on the 8th deck.
Our cabin steward was outstanding and the staff was pleasant and accomodating.
The entertainment was excellent except for James Stephens III who was pompous and obnoxious and a no-talent in our opinion.
The ...
This was our 8th RCCL cruise but this one was our 25th. The one plus was the great music. How can a ship run out of bagels, muffins, Sam Adams within 5 days????? The ship was always clean but seemed to lack personnel. Cabin Steward had brought wine and got ice bucket when req'd but never any glasses, didn't even ask. We had a Jr. Suite too. The food was actually good in the MDR but service was ...
This was our 6th cruise with Royal Caribbean and the first of the Vision of the Seas. We flew down 2 days early from the north east as we usually do in January accounting for weather delays. We stayed at the Marriot Waterside which is very near the port. Its a nice hotel on a marina canal with restaurants and bars. It was only a few minute cab ride to the cruise terminal from the ...
This was our 6th Royal Caribbean cruise. The 10 day itinerary was Tampa, Key West, Aruba, Curacao, and Grand Cayman. Vision of the Seas is an old ship. It was pretty clean and only had the basics of any cruise ship.... complimentary dining, specialty dining, casino, fitness center etc..... no other special features except for a rock climbing wall. This made for a lackluster experience and all ...
Departure: Terminal 2, somewhat disorganized, escalators not working, one elevator, so we took the stairs. Otherwise, check in was went fairly well although they did not have tables where you can fill out the health form, so that was a little discomforting.
Once on the ship, getting around thanks to the interactives near all elevators. Went to the Solarium for the Park Cafe roast beef ...
This was my boyfriend's and my 5th cruise together, first time taking Royal Caribbean. We've sailed on Norwegian once, and Carnival three times, and our first time taking a cruise that was more than 7 or 8 nights.
I suspect that because of the time that we went, plus the length of the cruise, was the reason that the ship's demographic tended to skew older this time. I recall our cruise ...
We love cruising and enjoyed this one on the Vision, a mid-size ship with nice venues that is easy to navigate. The cruise director staff were excellent -- high energy and lots of fun. A big surprise came when ship's captain Marek Slaby entertained us at the C&A social even by singing to us. He also entertained passengers in the Centrum (along with other talented officers and crew) belting out ...
This was nothing more than a shopping cruise. The only way to get to the beaches was to book a tour. Every stop was in a shopping area. I could have stayed home and went to the mall. The food was not as good as food I have had on other cruises and it seems that if you wanted good food you had to pay extra..as much as $70 a person..to dine in one of the specialty restaurants. You could also order a ...
