This cruise did not start out good. We embarked in Tampa upon checking in we learned of RCCL new point system. This was our anniversary cruise and we were to make diamond status, we learned that we are considered emerald. This was a disappointment, but understood. Sailing was pushed back to 11pm,so the shops and casino didn't open until the next day. Our Junior Suite was nice good size and the bathroom had room to move around in. We had our "emerald" coupon book in our stateroom upon our arrival. We ventured to the excursion desk only to be told the excursion was sold out and we were told we would be put on a waiting list. The excursion was an off road jeep tour in Costa Maya, we had done it on a prior sailing and had so much fun, we wanted to do it again. This was one of the reason we choose this cruise. The dining room was also nice. We didn't see the head waiter but once or twice. Our lead waiter was very good but soft spoken which made it hard to understand or hear him. Our assistant waiter was Sophia who always went above and beyond even when she saw us in the windjammer. The food was good, we don't eat allot of sea food, but on the alternative menu the chicken breast was very good. We like our table mates and convinced them to inquire about the jeep tour also. They were told that tour was cancelled, not sold out as we were told. We saw the "Elvis" show and "Piano Man Show" both very good. The next night at supper our table mates asked us why we weren't at the pass cruisers party, well we never received an invitation. Being more than agitated at this time I went to the service desk and explained all that had gone wrong they listened and the staff all did what they could to correct the issues we had. When we got home I email RCCL customer service and pretty much were told oh well hope you will give us another chance to earn you business, this was the icing on the cake. I'm sure we will cruise with them again as we are book on the Oasis in Sept of this year. I just expected more from RCCL. Read Less

My husband and I have taken 18 cruises aboard Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and NCL ships, to the Caribbean, Alaska, the Baltic,as well as the Mediterranean from the Canary Islands to Egypt. So we are experienced cruisers. On 17 ships we ate most of our dinners in the main dining rooms and enjoyed them. On the Radiance, we ate there the first two nights, were appalled, and never ate there again. My steak was so tough as to be inedible. My chicken was a hard plank that showed no signs of being meat. My husband's tenderloin was so thin as to be nearly transparent. He described his other entree as "ok." The food in the Windjammer was acceptable. It was like any other buffet you would find. I did note that approximately 1/3 of the food was cold, however. Cold gravy. Cold spaghetti sauce. Cold potatoes. etc. Don't ask me why. With such traffic, how could it be cold? One night they had make-you-own kebabs. My husband waited thirty minutes for his and it was "still on the grill." Let's move on to entertainment. The Piano Man show was excellent, and we had a reasonably funny comic and another good production show. But jugglers? Please. Haven't we moved past jugglers? Still-- I had no real idea of what entertainment was being offered on board. We apparently missed out on the real fun shown on the last night's showing of the cruise DVD. There were drunks dancing. Drunks playing some game called Quest that apparently involved them slithering on the floor like snakes. There was a group of old women around the pool with men standing before them performing what looked like lap dances between their legs. And, best of all, drunks dancing (again), bare chested, wearing brassieres pillaged from somewhere. A whole conga line of them. As we were watching all this, amazed, I heard a woman behind me say, also amazed, "Were these taken on THIS cruise??" This is a very different Royal Caribbean than the one we sailed on five or six years ago. Not only was there no lobster; there was no class. Did we accidentally board a Carnival ship? Read Less

This Saturday I returned from a five day cruise on the Radience of the Seas. When we arrived at the port we were able to immediately check in much to our suprise since it was just past noon. We were through the lines in no time with out any problems and the staff was truely friendly and helpful. Upon arrival to our room we were able to book our excursions through the television and was given an instant confirmation which was nice and saved us filling out the forms and placing them in the box near the pursers desk. The only thing that I was suprised about was that there were no laundry rooms to use on the ship. I have traveled on several other cruises and never experienced this. Fortunately, all our clothes were fine but some of the other family members were struggling with paying the staff to do their laundry. The weather was warm up to the last day at sea and then the wind was really strong. I could not get over how friendly the other passengers were and the staff aboard the cruise ship. It was so much fun to talk and visit with the workers. They work very hard to please the passengers. Overall the cruise was wonderful and as usual Royal Caribbean never fails in pleasing their passengers. Read Less
