Relaxing cruise with good food, friendly staff, and good weather

Had not cruised for years. Wanted a carribbean cruise that stopped in Roatan as we have friends there. I had read good reviews about NCL, so thought we would give them a try. We weren't disappointed. Food was excellent as well as the staff. The complimentary buffets were so good, and offered so many choices that we did not even consider any of the specialty restaurants. We had good weather so ...

I chose to cruise on the NCL Star because my family loves NCL. We had a great experience on the Getaway a couple years back and wanted to experience Norwegian's smaller ships. We also wanted to try different ports, so we decided to sail on the Star. After reading many bad reviews, I wasn't so sure I was going to have a good time. Well, those reviews were ... I just disagreed with them. I have ...

Cruising has changed in the last 20 years. My expectations have also changed. Given todays climate the cruise was quite good. Food, fine, excursions good(overpriced, but convenient). Got the dining package and enjoyed the meals. Only irritation was a $15 "corking" fee for the "free wine" delivered to my stateroom. The wine came with strawberries and a cork screw. Ate the berries and took the ...

One of the best cruises ever, and believe me, I've been on most of the mega ships and this is up for competition. Honestly, I've read some negative reviews online, and I have no idea what they are talking about. The dining options are great. We would eat at 3 different restaurants a night and not get tired of any of them. All of our waiters were really nice and fast (took nine minutes average for ...

We choose this cruise because it was coinciding with another trip we had planned. We had a good time we booked our own excursions and liked the Roatan Catamaran cruise as well as the Maya Chan Beach Resort day trip the best. the Al Tun Ha Ruins was beautiful but the service we chose had a vehicle that did not have any air conditioning; which made the 1 hour ride to and from the ruins kinda ...

Received a great deal for a two bedroom suite, third and fourth person free, specialty dining for all, adult beverage package, shore excursion credit. Suite came with a butler, who delivered canapés every afternoon. While the suite was roomy, with a separate entrance for the extra bedroom, there was not very much attention to detail with the housekeeping. Only of those magazine subscriptions ...

Here is our evaluation of the cruise: Great entertainment-very high energy and diverse acts Food- pretty darn good in the dining rooms. While the food was ok in the Market Café, the ambiance was not good; very institutional like. In fact, no atmosphere. So, for that I could not give 5 circle rating. The Sangria was excellent as well was all the drinks (had the Unlimited Beverage ...

Since this was a family trip, (15 of us 7 kids) we thought it would be nice to cruise. It was over President's week, and this seemed like it would work best. It turned into one of the worst vacations I have ever taken. Check for 15 people seems to be something they are not used to. We checked in by family, but the ones waiting were nearby. There was a cruise employee that stood there and told ...

My family and my dads friends went on the ncl star on 4-10-16 it was awesome Embarking and disembarking were a breeze. Arrived at port at 10:30, checked in and sat in the port lounge and was called to go on at 11:30. Getting off was even easier. You pick the time you want to get off and they were right on schedule.food was awesome and yummy special thanks to Cindy for getting us off the ship in ...
