What a great cruise. This was a 10 day cruise that started in Tampa then stopped in San Juan, St.Kitts, St. Maarten, St.John, and Tortola. We were looking for a cruise that would allow us to relax and rest, and this one was just what we ordered. This is our first cruise with Royal Caribbean International, we have been on Carnival and Princess. The Grandeur Of The Seas is a smaller ship than we ...
We drove from Sarasota to Tampa, arriving at 11:00 AM. The ship was at terminal 3 and I was directed to where the valet and porters were standing. The parking was in an open lot at this location, but was surrounded with a fence.
The porter unloaded the luggage and my Go Go scooter and we were directed to an elevator up to the embarkation lounge. There was no line and no waiting and were on the ...
This was my first time cruising with Royal Caribbean and it was a spur of the moment booking due to a GREAT Deal! I don't want to compare the rooms since I stayed on the 2nd floor on this ship and my rooms with Carnival have been balcony rooms. I'm glad I did have a lower floor since I heard of a few 8th floor balcony travelers experiencing problems such as leaks, not being able to flush toilets ...
It was Gasparilla Day when we embarked on our cruise, so we knew traffic would be heavy so we left early. We only live across the bay from the Port. This was the first time taking a cruise out of this port and we found navigating it very easy to do so. The only thing is that now upon embarkation port officials call over the Royal Caribbean representative when you have liquor in your carry on and ...
Embarkation: Fabulous and that is what made us choose this cruise again. Valet parking is smooth as silk. We arrived about 1 p.m. in 5 different vehicles. The porter is right there and it is a great start to a trip when you do not have to handle your luggage or have difficulty parking. The begins!
The RC staff was friendly and helpful from every aspect. We all had our sail pass info ...
We got to the pier at 11:30 am and it was a breeze going through security and checking in.We were through the security check in 15 minutes and walked right up to an agent to check in. Once we had our Sea Pass we walked right to the picture taking checkpoint to get our faces into the security system and then straight aboard. We had a nice lunch in the Windjammer and then to the cabin to await our ...
We have been on nine cruises so far, and this one was the only disappointing one we've ever had. We found this particular ship to be lackluster in the areas of food, entertainment, bedding, and knowledge and helpfulness of the crew. The ports were nice, but the ship dampened our enthusiasm for cruising.
Food: I lost 1/2 pound on a 10 day cruise. If it wasn't for the cookies, I would ...
We arrived in Tampa 3 nights early and had a great time exploring the area. Kayaked down the Hillsborough river (a wonderful state park right in town). Stayed at Sailport Resort at Rocky Point. It was nice to have a kitchen, not have to eat out all meals.
We got talked into a shuttle service from the hotel to the pier & return from pier to airport. While nice, we were in a towncar, it was ...
Background Information: This was our 7th cruised and third with Royal Caribbean International. My wife and I are early 60's and we were cruising alone. We selected this cruise on Grandeur of the Seas strictly because it was over the Thanksgiving holiday and price for a Ten day cruise. Our itinerary was two sea days, San Juan, St. Maartin, St. Kitts, Antigua, Tortola and Two sea days. We booked our ...
Observations on this cruise:
• Our waiter was just not up to par. We never really got to know him very well. He brought breakfast to our room on day 7 and did not even recognize us! In the past we wanted to take home the waiters/waitresses. This time we hardly know them! • Our assistant waiter was never introduced and we still do not know his name. • All food seemed to be a lower grade than ...
