Good value for your money

Review for Empress of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

Nice and small boat, superb itinerary, Habana and Nassau were great. Good service, small distances to walk, a little bit crowded restaurants. We misses the Royal Promenade to meet and walk at night. Enough elevators and stairs throught the ship. Miami offers a lo of entertaintment so you can arribe before the day of departure to enjoy the night life. Embarcation process was good, received ...

Booked the cruise with family friends to visit Cuba and overall as far as where we visited (Havana and Cozumel) it was an excellent experience. Good food, great people, and a fun getaway. Being on many cruises and being that I’m a bit younger, I feel as the entertainment portion of the cruise wasn’t as appealing to me as other ships I’ve been on. Don’t get me wrong, the shows they had were ...

Great cruise with a few bumps

Review for Empress of the Seas to Cuba

We mostly chose this cruise because we like RC and wanted to go to Havana. The big hiccup when we departed was some people waited several hours to get on the ship (we came early and had no problem) including our travel mates who are diamond+ and still took nearly 3hrs. Then when everyone was on they ran out of burgers at the poolside picnic so people were VERY hostile. Our dining room wait staff ...

Picked this Empress Cruise because it was going to Havana Cuba and was spending 2 days. We are not far from the port and friends dropped us off early, 9 am. Terminal opened at 10 am and we were some of the first onboard. We were in the Windjammer eating lunch a little after 11 am. Our cabin was a studio OV with a porthole on deck 4. It was as far forward as one can go on the port side. I have ...

Buyer Beware

All in all this was a good cruise with two exceptions. First, we waited in line 1 hour and 45 minutes to have paperwork processed and board the ship. Other people waited up to 2 hours and 15 minutes. For people in our age group, the wait time is unacceptable. We should have been issued numbers and provided seating to wait for our number to be called. The second issue we had was the tours we booked ...

Poor cabin spoiled the experience.

Family members wanted to see Cuba. I have sailed on several different cruise lines, but never had a poorer cabin than on the Empress of the Seas. Paid an upgrade price for a seaview - note NO balcony or access and the "partially obstructed" view was virtually totally obstructed except for a nice view of a lifeboat! Very difficult to enter bed without lumps on the head from metal bunks over ...

A special time with great employees, food, and independent guides

We choose this cruise solely for the destination of Cuba, The Empress of the Seas was docked at the Havana port for almost 2 days which was wonderful. Virtually all crew we encountered were helpful and upbeat. The 1800 passengers were walking around with jackets on for the first two days because the ship was far too cold and apparently it could not be corrected. The food and entertainment was ...

Visit wonderful Havana with a wonderful crew!

We choose this cruise for the two day Habana, Cuba visit and it was awesome! The port is right in the heart of Old Habana and so easy to get around. The ship is a smaller and older ship but the crew more than makes up for it! They are wonderful, friendly, eager to please and do whatever it takes for one to enjoy the cruise. (However some fellow guests could have been more aware of their ...

To visit Havana and to sail on Royal Caribbean, again, I choose this sailing, because it gave me an overnight in port, allowing us more time to explore. Embarkation was a breeze. We are Diamond members, so we were among the first group allowed on board. Terminal in Tampa is comfortable and the staff is very pleasant. My cabin review follows this section. Our attendant, Clover, was quick, ...
