Best cruise we've ever taken

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Sirena

It had been four years since we've cruised O and this is our fifth O cruise. Chose this because for years we've wanted to return to both Tahiti and Oceania for some time. Flying into Papeete and seeing Sirena for the first time and we knew we'd made the right decision. The ship is lovely. So many have commented on refurbishment not having been completed but after 18 days on her could not see a ...

Great Dining and Service - Rest Below Expectations

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Sirena

My wife and I took the 10 night South Pacific Cruise from Papeete to Papeete. The embarkation process was a breeze, with smiling and helpful crew members guiding us all the way. We had to kill time in the buffet restaurant till our Penthouse Suite (see review below) was ready, but the wait wasn't too long. Our butler was professional and helpful. The food and service in the main dining hall ...

Disappointed compared to Riviera

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Sirena

Days at sea were restful and wonderful. Food was bland and had little flavor. I found food on Riviera to be delicious last June. For example, the steak at Tuscan steakhouse was flavorful, like it was dry aged and came with gorngonzola butter. Steak on Sirena had very little flavor and no butter was offered. Food offered on buffet at dinner largely mimicked dining room food. If I don't like ...

Positive: - Food: if you’re a foodie, this is the cruise line for you. The ‘cafeteria’ type food served in the Terrace was average at best, and breakfasts are nothing special. Dinners, however, are first rate. Especially in their 2 specialty restaurants (no added charge): Tuscan & Red Ginger. Delicious. - Beds: super comfortable. Good pillows too. - Service: as one would expect at ...

Excellent Cruise/Horrible Air Arrangements by Oceania

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Sirena

Excellent cruise, super food, great bridge instructor and games, superior service by cabin attendants (Mia and Liane), and a great opportunity to meet like-minded travelers. The size of the ship (~600 guests) makes for pleasant opportunities for making acquaintances. This cruise was ideal for us in that we much prefer sea days to port calls and this cruise had ten sea days out of a total of ...

The Best of ANY Cruise on H.Am/N.C.L./CELEBRITY/PRINCESS/CARNIVAL & OCEANIA

The South Pacific, swimming & snorkeling was the bait. Our wives decided no good shopping there, so we said wer'e going anyway! With an old Merchant Navy buddy from the 1950's, I took off & had an amazing cruise, with an amazing crew on the Oceania mv vicSIRENA. During our on-board experience we noted ALL restrooms we spotless, Breakfast was always ready at the times listed, A great Gym & ...

Lovely trip with a few bumps

We arranged a group of 10 of us to celebrate some birthdays in Tahiti for a 10 day cruise on the Sirena. We chose Sirena due to its itinerary as it went from Papeete to other Leeward islands. We are Diamond Plus on Royal Caribbean, and also Celebrity. This is the first “high end” we’ve done other than Silver Seas Galapagos. Most reviews have done an accurate job on ship’s description. While ...

Excellent food and service but little beyond that.

We chose this cruise because of price, destinations and timing. We have over 50 cruises mostly on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Princess. This was our first on Oceania. We stayed a week in Tahiti at the Intercontinental in an over water bungalow prior to the cruise. Embarkation was flawless and fast. Disembarkation was smooth in Sydney with the exception of taxi availability. It took 1-1/4 ...

Beautiful smaller ship with excellent crew

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Sirena

This was our first cruise on Oceania, the 12 day ‘Pure Polynesia’ on Sirena. We tend to be land based travellers, but some places are just better by ship. Sirena is a smaller ship, which we prefer. The ship, refurbished in 2016, is beautifully decorated and maintained, with lots of dark wood and brass, immaculately clean. Being a smaller ship there is not that much room for guests to spread out, ...

We initially were made aware of this cruise by Go Next which was actively promoting this cruise last year, however we ended up booking it through our own travel agent for a slightly better deal. As others have mentioned, French Polynesia is beautiful, remote, and quiet. It was extremely hot and humid when we visited, but we enjoyed it immensely. Oceania did promote this accurately as not ...
