Chose this cruise for the unique opportunity to see both French Polynesia and Hawaii, and the ports of call did not disappoint. What did disappoint was the lack of effort and variety that comprised activities while at sea. With 4 straight days at sea, we were hoping for a full option of things to do, but the daily itinerary was pretty much recycled from one day to the next. There were not a lot of ...
Excellent service on the ship. Small ship, not too many people, this is good. Too many giant screens, not necessary at all especially when listening to a band playing music. The band Hotwire is excellent, if you want to dance.
Disappointed that all communication are in English only. On other companies it is in multiple languages.
Food was just ok. Japanese and Italian restaurants ...
We used the NCL Promotional Air - Most everyone had to as there are only two scheduled flights to Tahiti per day. They got us to LAX then had 3 maybe 4 charter flights to Tahiti. Lucky for us we were on one of the latter flights that was maybe 2/3 full so we could spread out. The seats in the economy section of the “Air Tahiti Nui” Airbus A310 were most uncomfortable. We arrived with no ...
The crew was great. Very friendly and glad to be working again after Covid. The food in the Garden Cafe lacked variety, was cold or over cooked, everything was in some sort of sauce, and they run out some basic items like butter. The production shows were great but there was a lack of other entertainment. Casino was closed while in Hawaii waters despite being well off shore. The Local was the ...
18 months previously, my wife and I did a cruise on Oceania Insignia, which was quite enjoyable. This cruise on the Oceania Regatta was a disappointment. Unfortunately for the Regatta, we had just done a cruise on the Cunard Queen Victoria and there was no comparison. The Queen Victoria is far better. We have done 26 cruises on 11 different cruise lines. The cost of cruising with Oceania is very ...
My husband and i took this special cruise to french polynesia for my 60th birthday celebrations. We had a wonderful time and the service was good however it was not impeccable nor outstanding. I was expecting a cleaner cabin 227 hence found carpet was delapidated and our attendant was not accomadating since we had to ask for basic toiletries on our first day and ice cube! In addition we bought a ...
Good deal on single room price to a destination I had never been before.
Getting there was a challenge. Flight from Minneapolis was 2 hours late. Had to change terminals in Los Angeles and since changing carriers too, no help with luggage which was difficult for me with bad legs. In international terminal, nobody knew anything about Air Tahiti. Had to drag bags around for an hour before ...
A Tahiti/French Polynesia cruise has been on my bucket list ever since Windstar initiated this itinerary. I'm a solo cruiser and particularly enjoy the Windstar cruises because of the more intimate, convivial feeling with a relatively small passenger size--about 130 in this case. Not an inexpensive trip for a single, but worth it.
Embarkation was smooth.
SHIP: Delightful 4-masted motor ...
Water activities around the Society islads was the aim. That was great. The ship itself is sufficient but limited. One bar one restaurant (ok there is the so called "candles) but actually that is just setting the tables on the pool deck with table clothes. No good in poor weather. The ship doesnt actually "sail". It operates by engine power. The sails are just for show and the "sailaway" is ...
I may be the only person who didn't enjoy this cruise and i accept some responsibility for this. The ship itself is beautiful; if you are a couple or family travelling together, it is perfect. if you are single and don't drink and aren't american then you will feel sorely left out. My travelling companion cancelled at the last minute due to hospital admission, so I was left on my own to enjoy ...
