Truly Amazing and our Favorite Cruise Ever!

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

I have been dreaming about a trip to French Polynesia since I was a teenager (I am now 65) so my expectations were high. Paul Gauguin exceeded my expectations and totally blew me away with the exceptional service by the entire crew and staff. Everyone greeted you with a warm welcome and smile every time they say you; at restaurants, lounges, on the stairwell and in the hallways. The restaurant ...

We boarded in Papetti and cruised the lovely Pacific Ocean. We had done the reverse of this cruise from LA to Papetti 5 years ago but the10 hour flight back on Air Tahiti Nui in coach overnight almost ruined a wonderful trip. This time we did the reverse taking a daytime flight to Papetti and cruising back. Much better idea! We were welcomed on the ship like it was old friends. The staff is well ...

Oceania is not what is used to be.

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Regatta

We booked the pre cruise hotel in Tahiti with Oceania Le Tahiti. It was overpriced relative to the website listing and it was certainly second rate. The room was dingy and it took several tries to get the AC to work. The staff was not only not helpful but at times could best be described as surly. Oceania asked for full passenger info and photos to get a boarding pass and upon checking in ...

We are avid travellers and have been on numerous cruises including many with Oceania. Here's an overview of our most recent cruise with Oceania on the ship Regatta. The food is very good when it comes to your table hot. There were a few times in the dining room when the food was luke warm and we were served food on plates and bowls that were chipped or damaged. The buffet food is hit or ...

Felt Underwhelmed for the Price

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Regatta

We were on the Regatta from Australia to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa x 2 and French Polynesia. My feedback is as follows: 1. Staff - very friendly and generally eager to please. However, tend to be a number who lack training, so service is variable. 2. Cabins - please don't pretend they are state rooms, it insults the passengers! Generally basic, but good enough, but shower area is tiny. Bigger ...

We were Concierge Level 2. Overall this was a fabulous cruise. Stateroom - great space, wonderful comfy bed. The linens were extremely nice. Alway fresh, soft towels and face cloths. Soaps, shampoo and lotion were very nice. Ship -the ship is beautiful. Very elegant, tastefully decorated. A very classy ship. There are lots of areas to relax with very comfortable seating. The ship was ...

Paul Gauguin 10 Night Cruise

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Paul Gauguin

The Paul Gauguin is a smaller cruise ship which enables it to go places where the large vessels can't. Although it is nearly 40 years old a major refurb in 2021 was done well and has since been maintained so the ship overall, cabins and public areas present very well. The scenery is spectacular particularly viewed from the pool deck with Pina Colada in hand. Staff are well trained apart ...

A Longtime Princess Cruiser Sails Oceania

We’ve been on over three dozen Princess cruises and until recently we didn’t have any reason to stray from them. But the dream itinerary that we wanted to do was no longer offered by Princess. We booked the 10 day French Polynesia cruise a couple of times with Princess during Covid and it was cancelled. The final cancellation was because they sold the Pacific Princess and Princess no longer had ...

Tahiti is wonderful

Overall a great experience. Lost Moorea due to weather and Nuku Hiva was a waste of fuel. Should have added more time in Bora Bora. Ship is old but kept up pretty nicely. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Crew is great led by Ray, cruise director, who was everywhere. Boarding: This was a mess with a long line as everyone seemed to board at the same time. Conversely, the disembarkment was ...

Failed Luxury

There were several ups and downs. Ours was not a luxury experience. We were not on the transfer list for the prepaid ride from the airport to the hotel. Took a taxi and had to hagle with ship crew to get reimbursed. The hotel, Tahiti Pearl, was in a beautiful spot but I would put it on par with a Best Western with a view Embarkation was the worst I have ever experinced. We waited in ...
