Not a luxury experience

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

This was our first Regent cruise. We have previously sailed with Viking,Virgin, Celebrity, Holland, MSC, NcL and Carnival mostly in suites. We are childless couple in our sixties and started cruising in 2018. We are active and enjoy great food and drink. We always enjoy ourselves. This cruise was disappointing from the very start. The ship is older but not well maintained. The crew was ...

There were several ups and downs. Ours was not a luxury experience. We were not on the transfer list for the prepaid ride from the airport to the hotel. Took a taxi and had to hagle with ship crew to get reimbursed. The hotel, Tahiti Pearl, was in a beautiful spot but I would put it on par with a Best Western with a view Embarkation was the worst I have ever experinced. We waited in ...

Six-star cruise line, five-star ship

Regent is going considered a six-star line, but as an experienced cruisers we found this to be a five-star ship. Here are a few notes (issues and highlights by category): Accommodations: Exceptional suites, extremely lean and despite their age are very well maintained, albeit with a somewhat outdated color palette. Very comfortable bedding, ample closet space, shower and tub separated, ...

Overall a great experience. Lost Moorea due to weather and Nuku Hiva was a waste of fuel. Should have added more time in Bora Bora. Ship is old but kept up pretty nicely. Air conditioning worked perfectly. Crew is great led by Ray, cruise director, who was everywhere. Boarding: This was a mess with a long line as everyone seemed to board at the same time. Conversely, the disembarkment was ...

This was my 80th birthday present and travelled with my 79 year old wife. We are both active and have no mobility issues as the vessel has no elevators. We have been to Hawaii a half dozen times, but Tahiti has always been on my list. We are experienced travelers having spent time in six continents. I did a lot of research and Windstar seemed to fit the the bill for us. We are from Maine and have ...

From the very second our taxi dropped us off at the cruise port in Papeete, we were blown away at the services. Friendly greetings, clear and concise directions on how to board and a person at every turn pointing you in right direction. Champagne greeting with the cruise host and then a little presentation and then to our room and our luggage was already there as well as a fully stocked ...

Hubbie and I booked this to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It is the best value for money to see the French Polynesian islands hands down. The crew was outstanding and the mix/ diversity of guests was wonderful. Made some life long friendships in just 7 days. Loved the semi-casual nature of the ship, the itinerary, excursion options, entertainment and food on the private motus and of course the ...

I had researched this cruise for 3 years and I knew the ship was 25 years old this year so we expected an older ship. However, upon arrival, we were greeted with the kindest smiles and a beautiful ship that was recently remodeled. We stayed on Deck 4 with a window view, which was perfect for us as we were hardly ever in the room. We spent lots of time by the pool. We went directly to the spa and ...
