Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Majestic Princess

The Majestic is one of the latest ships in the Princess lineup , so we thought we would give it a try. Embarkation was smooth and quick. We decided to bid for an upgrade from a balcony to a Deluxe balcony cabin , our bid was successful but we found out that the couple in the adjacent cabin just asked for an upgrade equal to ours and were given it (free). BEWARE!!!!. The cabin was ...

A friend at work recommended a cruise, in a moment of madness we booked through luxury escapes for 10 nights leaving Sydney for New Caledonia and Vanuatu. The ship is tired and showing its age, tattoos looked compulsory, probably with their room number so when they are inebriated they can find their way back. There is nothing interesting to do unless you enjoy drinking, belly flop competitions or ...

Ship was to go to Far North Queensland but due to Cyclone we went south instead. I was happy to go south, but could understand people being disappointed with change, but there was no way we could have gone to Cairns etc. First time on Brilliance, had previously been on Quantum last 4 times, and I actually enjoyed the smaller ship, it took us back to the old days ( well not that old ...

Incredible experience

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Majestic Princess

I wanted to cross the Pacific Ocean, and this was a wonderful way to do it! The ship was only 1/3 full most of the way, so it was very laid back and relaxed, with plenty of room and no queues for anything. The food was great - even the buffet was better than I was expecting. The main dining room meals were beautiful, and the specialty dining meals in the Crown Grill were also good, but not a ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Viking Mars

Always wanted to visit Australia and New Zealand. Love both. A special treat was the visit to Hobbitland. The cruise featured great lecturers. You could watch these live or view them later on the tv in your cabin. Some of our fav things about Viking cruises are as follows: no nickel and diming for extras like drink packages, no annoying photographers, no assigned seating or times, no ...

Three days at sea with not much to do. Trivia game, working on a puzzle; we did not even see a movie posted on those days. Looking for things to do in the evening all we saw was music here, music there, and more music on stage. Only four hours in one town--not nearly enough. Akoroa would have been a better stop than Lyttelton (though we did go up the gondula). Did not like having to leave room ...

We had been to Australia and New Zealand previously, but neither to Melbourne nor the South Island of New Zealand. This was a really good cruise. We would have preferred a bit longer in Sydney, but understand the time restraints. Excursions, especially in New Zealand, we fabulous. Going to sites from the Lord of the Rings filming, including the surrounding countryside, was breathtaking. Sailling ...

My husband and I went on a Viking river cruise prior to this cruise and loved it so much that we were ready for a bigger adventure. Austria and New Zealand have always been on our bucket list and we decided this trip would be a perfect 40th anniversary trip. We were not disappointed! The ship was only a year old and luxuriously appointed in Scandinavian design. We took advantage of all the ...

We had Australia and New Zealand as the last of the Continents tht we have visited. We arrived for a pre-cruse experience. We expected a long flight from New Hampshire, and it was. When we arrived, as a few others did for this cruise, we could not fdind the Representative for Viking. Of course finally we did. The HOtel was excellent and the service there was above great. After that we headed to ...

Failed to meet any expectations

We chose this cruise based on itinerary, since we wanted to visit several islands. I had read rave reviews of the food, but that’s so subjective I didn’t have real expectations. The food was very inconsistent; great in day and not so great the next. The fish was awful - other than the tuna, I found bones in EVERY fish dish I ordered. We ignored the entertainment, as it just wasn’t for ...
