After four Seabourn journeys, I can say the experience is so enjoyable that I have no interest in trying other cruise ships. Comfort, food, service etc all first class. Furthermore I make three points: (A) whoever thought up and/or designed the Town Square concept should be given a double bonus; (B) the system operated by the banks where one’s account is automatically closed down after(about) an unused five minutes would go down well with those of us who forget to close off our wifi accounts; and (C) the talks by Captain Martin on early and very early and very very early exploration of Asia and particularly the Pacific were outstanding and informative. Is there a DVD? I will buy. Every Australian child should be sat down at school and at home to watch. I knew much, but doubt that my grandchildren know any of it. The decision to terminate in Adelaide rather than carry on back to Sydney as per our original itinerary, was the correct one. Sitting off Sydney with eleven other cruise ships would have been our experience. Well done Seabourn! I should add that I found the handling of the termination of our cruise was impressive. The Captain and crew kept us well informed of the situation, and handled efficiently and at short notice, all the arrangements associated with complicated and short notice re-bookings, and our departure. A key reason disembarkation went without complications was because there were (apparently) no illnesses on board, thanks to competent and active hygiene supervision by the crew, particularly in the dining rooms. My wife booked the cruise this time and did very well as always. The Splendor is a very nice ship which we were pleased to be aboard. We sailed at a very turmultuous time with covid19 on the rise. I cannot praise the staff highly enough on this. Their diligance and professionalism was fantastic in every way. Yes we missed several ports that were planned But at no fault of Carnival, the captain, the crew or the ports. In whatever way possible they tried to give us the best possible experience. The portside entertainment whilst in Port Vila from the local musicians was great. Fahrenheit 555 was deliciously awesome you have to try it. Casino staff and management absolutely amazing. We had so many good conversations whenever we were there. Wait staff 1st class thankyou Daniel, Patrick, Sumali, Jose. HUGE Thankyou to Mateo, Ivan, Jodie, Gladys, Larry, Mihai and all casino crew Ryan, Roan, We had a blast. Black Pearl staff and Gold Pearl staff you all Amaze me. How you carry those trays, balance everything like watching juggling. Evening waiter entertainment was so fun. Thankyou Angela, Leilani, Putu and all we met during our dining experiences. We have cruised many times on alot of different cruise lines but Ovation is the largest ship we have cruised on. Ovation of the Seas has been our bucket ship and it didn't disappoint. No waiting in line to embark, disembark, buffet or for the tenders in port. We had a virtual balcony cabin which was a good size and very quiet. We loved all the toys that were included, flowrider, Ifly, North Star & bumper cars. The best gym facilities at sea. Best production shows we have seen at sea. The adults only area was lovely. Only thing we feel let the cruise down was the food in the MDR and waiting staff could have been improved on. We found the ship very easy to get around and didn't get lost at all. Beautiful art work all around the ship. Looking forward to cruising on Ovation of the Seas again. Read Less

We had been looking to circumnavigate Australia for years and were delighted when we saw this itinerary on Regent. We'd seen others but they were always over the holidays and weren't keen to be away at that time. It was amazing to see the entire continent -- intriguing history, friendly people, amazing wildlife -- plus Bali and Papua New Guinea to boot. What's not to like? Navigator is a ship that gets a bad rap. This was our first cruise on Navigator (our other was on Voyager), and after reading reviews here, we were concerned. Yet needn't have been. Her size means she is easy to navigate (pun intended) and is conducive to meeting people. Folks invited us to dinner (a first for us) and we did the same. Made terrific friends from Germany, UK, Netherlands, Canada and USA. A real family feel -- including crew. For an older ship, she is in good shape and was recently given a bit of a face lift, which resolved some past issues -- I'm looking at you Brown Water. Yes, her stern vibrates, she has no forward viewing lounge and only one specialty restaurant. But none of this mattered once the cruise began. Our mid ship cabin didn't vibrate, we loved happy hour in Stars lounge and Compass Rose was terrific -- and had enough variety even for our long voyage. We love the high quality and all inclusive value Regent provides. The staff was friendly, efficient and ever present. Passenger/crew ratio seemed luxurious. Lecturers on board were entertaining as well as educational. Hugh Neighbour provided geo/political insights, Michael Scott provided wildlife and port specifics, and Mary Atkins provided Australian cultural details. All were excellent. Veteran cruise director Ray Solaire kept us entertained on sea days with games, cooking demos, a Super Bowl party, an Oscar viewing (both at breakfast) and other classes. The onboard entertainment in the theater was terrific -- equal to or better than ships much larger, particularly the production cast. Read Less

Reason of choosing this cruise because it would bring us to parts of the world which we wanted to see. The route was one we believed was an attractive one, and turned out to be so. Lots of ports but also sea days could be enjoyed. Being on board ment meeting other guests and enjoying the warm embracing of the employees which were so incredibly friendly. Next to that and the every day big programme, which could be enjoyed, the food was SPLENDID. The choices were surprisingly great, the taste of every meal, can actually not discribe it. Hope everybody will understand the high level of it. In short; route was A very nice one. We learned much about many. The crew, completely marvelous. A great thank you to the captain Kristovic for sailing us save and sound to all the directions. Mr. Ray Solaire which was very informative and entertaining. A big thank you to the chef the cuisine Kelly Cochrane for the delicious food. Much appreciation to lovely Lusan and Saga who took care of our cabin. Who did I forget? hopefully no one. The ones, Koko, Maya and Ivana, lets not forget Ronald, we enjoyed having them around. All the employees deserve A BIG THANK YOU. We say ; untill the next time. Read Less

The timing was ideal and we hadn't previously been to a number of the ports of call covered by this cruise We had previously done one Princess cruise and had heard some very good reports about Princess from friends. Overall the cruise represented very good value for money. The Majestic Princess is a very nice, comfortable ship. Given the number of passengers on board, most areas of the ship do not appear crowded. The Crew/Staff were in almost all occasions friendly and helpful. The embarkation and disembarkation process was quick and efficient - I can't recall a ship where this process was done better. Getting on and back on the ship at the ports of call was also handled very efficiently. The Majestic Princess also handled the tender process brilliantly. The three ports that required the use of tender craft/water transfer to the pier proved to be a very smooth operation. I have never encountered a tender process as smooth as this on any cruise ship. The only disappointment was the food in the Dining Rooms and Buffet which, on most days, fell short of my expectations. The fact that you are able to take wine on board (after paying a corkage charge) is a real bonus. Well done Majestic Princess Read Less

This was our first Princess cruise and having sailed on Celebrity many times it was a lovely surprise. The ship is only a few years old and well looked after, everything sparkled. We loved the fact that everything onboard was in AUD$ and reasonably priced, e.g. the coffee card ($36 for 15 speciality coffees), the drinks, the shops. Princess entertainment is first class, the Production shows are a visual delight and the guest entertainers were good. Our favourite was The Voice of the Ocean, such a professional show. Our Cruise Director was a fun guy who made our trip and there was always something happening, activities all day/night long so no time to be bored. The weather was glorious with only a couple of rain showers so no ports were spolit. We had never been to Fiji and the 4 ports of call gave us a good look. The Buffet restaurant was OK although not our favourite place to eat as it was always packed with people rushing around bumping into you. The Symphony dining room was our favourite with every meal of high quality and always hot. Alfredos Pizza makes a nice change for lunch or dinner and its no extra charge. We will definitely sail with Princess again, excellent service, wide variety of things to do and great food. Read Less

We wanted to try out the new Majestic Princess and it went further than we had travelled from Australia so very appropriate choice and exciting for my husband and I. The ship is well organised and caters for all ages and cultures both in their activities and food choices. We chose a Mini-suite and had an outstanding cabin stewardess who looked after us well. In fact, she went over and above her role and we were impressed at her efficiency. The Dining rooms were well serviced, quick and efficient, friendly and entertaining. We were impressed by how the activities were based around different cultures including Australia Day and Chinese New Year. The service in all areas was efficient and helpful. Most of the Ports and Shore excursions were enjoyable and well organised. We enjoyed the more traditional cultural villages and ceremonies. Loved interacting with the children in their uniforms at schools. Read Less

We figured we'd probably never fly to Vanuatu or Fiji so why not try cruising. This South Pacific 14 day cruise offer popped into our inbox and we signed up - no consideration for the ship or the time of year - but it turned out to be a great decision. We had such a good time! The Majestic Princess is a very big ship but we never felt crowded. It did take us a while to find our way around but all that walking helped work off the extra food we ate. It was a largely older group of people on board, but there were families and quite a few children too - a nice mix. Embarkation in Sydney took quite a long time but was well organized. Once on board we found our balcony stateroom and met our steward (the lovely Sherill, a real gem). One of our suitcases was damaged in transit to our room but I spoke to the Guest Services desk and the suitcase was fixed (totally new handle) by the following day. My only gripe would be that there is a lot to do on board but much of it is aimed at getting you to buy something. I'm sure this is only news to newbies like us. We thoroughly enjoyed the shows (get there about 30 minutes early to get a seat) and made the most of the Movies under the Stars - whoever selects the movies does a great job (new releases - some not yet released in cinemas in Australia). Trivia was fun, we also tried Bingo once. The virtual tours of the bridge and engine room, and the cooking demonstration and galley tour were highlights for us. The fitness centre was great, though a bit warm at times. The weather was perfect so we made good use of the pools too. The Hollywood Pool Club (adults only) was, obviously, a little quieter than the fountain pools and you could find a nice spot to relax and read without getting too much sun. We had Anytime dining but also ate at the World Fresh Marketplace, Alfredos, the International Cafe and Crown Grill. We found the food to be of a consistently good standard across all venues. I really liked the Noodle Bar and regularly had the wonton noodle soup for lunch on sea days. The port visits were amazing. We did a couple of tours through the ship and two independent tours. The tenders were always very well organized. Noumea - we did the Amedee Lighthouse Island tour. Would thoroughly recommend. A great day snorkelling with the turtles. Saw sea snakes. Delicious lunch. Great dancing and demonstrations. Walked to the top of the lighthouse for a magnificent view. Lifou - no tour. Another gripe - the ship didn't tell anyone about having to buy passes to Jinek Bay on board, so there were a lot of people turned away when they couldn't get access. Beautiful island with lots of photo ops. Good swimming. Nice walk to the church on top of the hill. Would have been better if we could snorkel at Jinek Bay. Port Vila - probably our favourite day. Did a tour through Vila Hope Tours - visited Rarru Falls, the Blue Lagoon, Hideaway Island, the Tanna Coffee Factory and duty free shopping in town. Our tour guide William was charming - informative and funny. Dravuni Island - stunningly beautiful but tiny island. Walked and swam and relaxed. Suva - Jewel of Fiji tour through Viator tours. Amazing day - long boat ride up the Navua river through the rapids, swam in a waterfall, bamboo raft down the rapids and lunch, dancing, kava ceremony, local arts and coconut demonstrations in a beautiful village. Wonderful guide - Malachai. Savusavu - so hot and humid. Pretty place. Walked around town and had a beer in the pub. Latouka - we did the Oolala cruise to Savala Island tour through the ship. What a day! Fun boat trip to and from the tiny island - served homemade pineapple and banana cake and a singalong with the Oolala team. Perfect weather - we swam with the baby reef sharks, snorkelled on the reef, kayaked, took a glass bottom boat tour to feed the fish and ate a BBQ lunch. Everyone was in high spirits - singing along on the way back to the ship. Great end to a wonderful last port day. We had nothing to compare it to but we loved this cruise. We felt very well looked after - it was relaxing but exciting too. If you've never cruised but are curious, just give it a try. You won't regret it. Read Less

This is a great cruise liner, very new, excellent staterooms, and mostly excellent service. Our room attendant was the best, always excellent service and always smiling. Give him a raise! Many activities on board including IFly (!) bumper cars, rock climbing, video games, ping pong, sports court, free Zumba and stretch classes, craft (could do better with the craft classes, just gave out kits), lectures, many pools etc. Teen club was good but too many boys hanging around outside. Entertainment was first class. Some of the other passengers let their kids run around without any supervision which I did not like but not much that RC can do about it. Complementary meals and service was good, ranging from fine dining to the massive Windjammer buffet restaurant which has to be seen to be believed. I cannot understand all the whinging in other comments. I mean really, someone got the wrong parmesan? Seriously? Overall very good and highly recommended. Read Less

I’ve been on Ovation which I found too big, too busy and a bit like a Westfield shopping centre vibe and with over 4000 passengers, the queues for everything were horrendous. The Voyager was so much more fun! It’s newly refurbed or ‘amplified’ to have more fun features & we found it had just the variety and atmosphere that we love! The fittings and style were lovely and our fave bars were High Notes on Deck 14 & Sky Lounge Deck 12 followed by Schooner Bar. Music everyday, an atrium deck full of activities and a party feel, loads of cool places to sit & watch the waves. Shuffle board & Flowrider with an Ice rink & ice show - everything was great! My best advice is if you’re planning to stay in a balcony cabin, go for the extra ‘Spacious Balcony Cabin’ - the cabin itself is bigger as is the balcony. It included a 3 seater sofa bed and there was so much space without too much expense. The food on board is great but we weren’t as impressed with the specialty restaurants except for Giovanni Table which was lovely. Service was great, attention to detail was also good and my fave aspect was the adults only Solarium area which is open to the sky so no chlorine fumes like on Ovation. I’d suggest buying the KEY package. It includes your internet plus other bonuses like prioirity boarding, a nice lunch, priority tendering, farewell brekkie & fuss free disembarking among other things. It was great value for adults without kids! We loved everything about it and are already looking to book another trip on this comfortable & stylish ship! Read Less

Initially we were very excited about our Christmas cruise but became concerned after reading many reviews. We have cruised on three different cruise lines in a Europe and South Pacific and the second time on RCL. The ovation is amazing, from the very quick seamless embarkation, clean stateroom, service, activities and food choices amazing! We had 2 balcony staterooms one for us and one for our 4 kids. One kid ended up in our room on the fold out sofa. Kids ages 9, 12, 14,16 and not one complaint of boredom even though they had no WIFI for 10 days. When I was researching I couldn’t find a review of Christmas, RCL do an amazing job, there are Christmas decorations, activities, Christmas movies, craft, Christmas food including cookies and milk leading up to a big day of celebration, Santa’s arrival, free gifts for kids under 18. These were very thoughtful and useful. In terms of drinks, we bought the deluxe package, I’m not a big drinker but it definitely works out, bottled water, fresh juices, specialty coffee and wine and cocktails, book on cruise planner prior when it goes on sale. Lots of sales of jewellery and watches, don’t buy in first few days, as they go up to 75 percent off! My sister in law was seasick, they sell tablets in the merchant store but give them away for free at reception. On Christmas Day we booked a specialty restaurant “chops Grille”, food 9/10 but they didn’t have the same Christmas frivolity as the other restaurants, they offered us this for 49 usd adults and kids above 12 and 10 for kids, they said no charge for kids at the end. No Christmas pudding or turkey on menu but apple pie was to die for. They work so hard to make sure everything leads to a great holiday, free ice cream all day on the pooldeck, blankets for watching movies under the stars on the pooldeck. We bought a paradise lotto ticket, $2.00 a game and won $100 usd which we used to credit our account. The activities director is a crack up and there are so many family friendly activities and challenges you can join in or just watch. Caribbean music on the pool deck really makes for a great atmosphere, there is the main pool, a second undercover pool and the adult solarium. The food in main dining is great, the buffet has a theme section each night and the variety for gluten intolerant, vegans and vegetarians is great, not that this was us! Oh and the gym was huge and free, we used it most days. Overall a great experience, would love to do it again next year! Everyone had a great time, I couldn’t fault it, and we are well travelled. We found this cruise on the internet. Wanted something to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Special offer: Ocean view cabin for the price of an inside cabin. When we finally check, two days before we left, we found out that we were bumped up to a balcony. Went to guest services on the Splendor to ask who we should thank...... apparently the computer at Reservations. Over the moon! Every aspect of this cruise was perfect. From embarkation to debarkation. Yes if you are picky you might find fault, but my wife and I would recommend every person in NZ and Ausie (or anywhere) to get on the Splendor and visit New Caledonia. Isle of Pines was our favourite place to visit. The best experience was to travel on a ship for the first time. Most of the staff members were friendly and helpful. Great shows (Aerial) and the 70/80's show. We are just sad it's over. Read Less

It has The Palace and normal classes. But do not let this put you off.We sailed normal class and it was good as any other ship We as seasoned cruisers enjoyed the ship and crew ,things done a little different than the normal western type of ship ship. We would rate the ship just below Princess over all, how ever the production shows are outstanding, the best we have seen at sea any where in the world .5 Star shows each night,do not miss any of them. They do many things very well , including letting you collect tender tickets the day before you need them so no rush on the day. My husband and I absolutely loved this ship. There were lots of entertainment and there was always something to do. If you are not into their activities, then you can spend your time eating at their amazing restaurants. The Pantry has plenty of options but the food in D Angelos and Dragon Lady and Waterfront are superb. 400 Gradi has awesome pizza and meats and cheeses but you need to pay. However, the quality of their food is as best as the top restaurants in the Sydney CBD yet at half the price. D Angelos and Dragon Lady were included in the fare but were just as good too as any 5 star rated restaurant. The staff were all lovely and we throughly enjoyed their classes. All of their staff were helpful and knowledgeable and always looked happy to see you. Drinks are also reasonably priced. We didn't get to swim in the pools though and do the waterslides but they looked enjoyable as there were quite a lot of people. But it is alright as we got to swim a lot during the shore tour. Our cabin was very functional. Although it was a bit small compared to a hotel room it was in no way less in quality. Their airconditioning worked well and they had plenty of space and drawers to put all your stuff in. Their shower area even had more racks than most hotels we have stayed in which was amazing. Our room steward was very caring and was always happy to help and kept our room clean. We enjoyed the cruise so much we booked another. Would highly recommend P&O Explorer. Read Less

Ship : it was a bit overwhelming at first , as I have not yet been on such a big Ship. However once we found and navigated our way round it was easy to find places .American dollars was a bit annoying and having to buy aust sockets was too . Cabin : our Cabin wasn't sorted out for 2 single beds , however as soon as we requested them to be separated . It was not too long after we returned that night it was done. Our cabin was lovely , the heating/cooling was a bit difficult to get used to , however room steward came and showed how it worked . the Fahrenheit took a bit getting used to. Entertainment and Activities : my favorite was the Ifly and bumper cars . I highly recommend " the key" program as that will get you passed the huge line ups (if they become an issue) My mum enjoyed the shows as I did . Service : was brilliant - always smiles and ready to assist . Our room steward was friendly and willing to assist when we needed . Guest services were also amazing - especially in assisting my elderly mum. Ports and shore excursions: the team to assist us to disembark and embark back onto the ship were ultra helpful - again especially with my mum - they went out their way to assist and listened when I needed help with mum. We chose this trip as it went at a suitable time and to different islands to our last cruise. We found staff always happy and helpful. As I am celiac, we chose set dining in the dining room For breakfast and dinner. This meant I ordered the night before and they were then able to accomodate my requirements. My husband had a few meals that were not as hot as they could have been however compared to barreling in the smorgasbord area on deck 7, we would take the dining room food any time. The other area was good for a quick meal, but certainly not a relaxing one for us. I would happily recommend this cruise to anyone. We booked excursions on the boat as well as some that were not organised by the cruise line. Definitely preferred the private tours as they were much more personable. You start with a cocktail of your choice and appetisers, bread, followed by a further four courses and champagne cost $125...so worth it. Production shows excellent, headliners mostly a hit, a couple of misses. Overall we had a wonderful time. The water shuttles if you’re in a hurry to get off can be a bit of a wait. Chose this cruise because of the many ports to visit. The magnificent 'Majestic Princess' as Captain Sagani calls her and he is right. Everywhere you looked there were beautiful paintings, sculptures and decor. Our deluxe balcony stateroom was great, we enjoyed a drink on the balcony on most evenings watching the sunset before heading to one of the many bars for a drink before dinner. Anytime dining worked well for us, we had no problems getting a table in the dining room, the pizzeria or the marketplace buffet area. All meals were good and enjoyed having an option of where to eat each night. There was plenty of room for the 3500 passengers in bars and on deck, really enjoyed the Hollywood pool area. Tender service to shore was ok but a little slow at times but loved all the ports we visited, we enjoyed the two excursions we booked which were well organised. Some bar and wait staff were not as nice and friendly as others but the activities staff were great and very entertaining. As the passengers were much older than expected we learnt to be patient with all the walking frames, walking sticks and wheelchairs, some of the oldies were quite rude unfortunately. Overall we had a fabulous time and will look forward to going on this ship again. Read Less

This was my 5th cruise first time with Carnival. The room was excellent, lots of space, couch, desk, table, 2 really comfortable beds. The outside areas were good and unlike P&O the music, which is always 'dance/night club music' and at volumes louder than any Heavy Metal concert I've ever been to, Is easy listening and you can talk with out yelling. The entertainment is good, the shops are good, I don't drink but the bars are good as are the bands, etc. The only real problem is the food "Buffet" which is very American, and never changes . I have more choice in the food court at my local mall. Sorry Carnival but the food is better on P&O. Carnival needs to adopt the Pantry like P&O has. More variety and things other than fish and pork all the time which I don't eat if it wasn't for the 24hr pizza place i'd have starved. Its actually worth going on the ship just for the pizza's. BUT, having said that the food I was able to eat was awesome. The last night I had roast beef in a flavoured gravy and I want back again and again...the wraps at the deli are great. The bbq isn't bad. Its just that the menu doesn't change much. The chicken curry pies are awesome. The chips are usually hot, never had any that were cold. As for the restaurant, I don't like eating my dinner or lunch in sections up to 15 minutes apart. Nice food though. The staff are great, the service is good. They all seem to have a good sense of humour. I'm going on the new Splendor in 2020. Can't wait. Read Less

GREAT!!! First time experience with Carnival Spirit 28th/9th to 06th/10th. I loved both on Sea & land experience. Carnival Spirit keeps guest onboard as happy and safe as possible & the cruise ship staff have to maintain standards for guest at sea for 24 hours of your intended stay. You must Appreciate Every single staff for there work ethic and I mean every single staff. You could not fault the staff I loved the environment they created for themselves to maintain a work life kind of a balance. All Of The Staff Members need a raise. Getting the chance to meet the culture and life on the islands was insanely Beautiful I mean the memories you guys aloud me to See, Taste and Feel will never be forgotten none the less I strive to travel the Seas another day with Carnival Spirit. Carnival Spirit is the fun ship the shows they host at night inside the Pharaohs Palace and Versailles Lounge are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED go and watch. I Personally loved having live entertainment I mean you dont get that everyday. What is also AMAZING is you are bound to meet new and intresting people. I have compliments for each and every single day I was aboard that ship but I'm going to end with this last little quick review. Everyone is free for this date to be with my siblings post 90 th Birthday Of our mother. We have enjoyed our stay as All staff were accomodating especially the Food services staff.,Emmanuel, Rodrigo, and Jennifer .There was also a cleaner ,Casmina who were very polite ,hard worker and courteous Shops are good as well. It has varieties of perfumes, souvenirs and goods on special prices .Entertainment is good ,entertainers, singers are wellI prepared and professionals,We enjoyed watching them. I hope that there will be church service for us Christians on Sunday or even video of church service. We did not go to Moreton Island due to strong wind, it will be impossible to go there on small boat. The Captain decision not to go there is acceptable. Of course, safety comes first,It was well compensated by giving us refund which we used for shopping souvenirs, bought photos ,treated ourselves with yummy seafood dinner and drinks.I hope our bonding will be more when we got time together. Thank you Carnival Spirit for giving us this memorable moment. God Bless you all!, Read Less
