Poor for Adults, Great for Kids

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Splendor

This cruise was very average and nothing to recommend people on, most of the staff are fantastic (and completely over-worked). The ship was OK but looking poorly for a twelve year old ship, and the layout as good once you got accustomed. Hygiene is not Carnival strong point, so you have to be pro-active here as most of the passengers are not. The Good: -The kids facilities are good, the ...

Great entertainment, pity about the smoking

Overall our holiday was good, but there were a few things that brought down the enjoyment. Our stateroom was assigned by RC on the starboard forward part of deck 6 and was above the deck 5 smoking area. This meant when we wanted to use the balcony, we got cigarette smoke in the air. Fresh air was why we picked a balcony in the first place. We also were deluged in cigarette smoke when waiting ...

We have cruised Princess several times . looking forward to Majestic but have to rate it around a 3 out of 5. Layout seems to be a bit disjointed ! ie seems whereever there was a small area with nothing in they just plonked something there - ie small bar area. - another internet area - there are 2 of these 1 has 2 terminals and a very very small selection of books(ie library) and the other from ...

…..BUT COULD DO BETTER. Most of the usual PRINCESS pluses were apparent. Great entertainment, hard working cabin, food and wait staff. A decor not as over the top as some competitors. Lower booze prices and the chance to bring on-board 329 2 free bottles of wine + pay corkage on more. This particular ship is one of the bigger cruise boats out of Australia but had no shortage of bars, lounges ...

Having sailed with carnival before on the legend I was really looking forward to this new ship. The experience was mixed The good - variety of food - options to eat and drink - 24 hr food pizza but other open late like deli - amazing shows The bad - the dining room staff were ‘boring’ and never available - not once did we get asked if we wanted a second drink - on ...

Cruise saved by the service of the staff, poor structure of ship

I chose this cruise as a single parent with a young child. The cruise staff were outstanding, especially the kids' club (3-5 yr olds). Honourable mentions go to Miss Candy (Mary Jean), Miss Pizza (Roisin) kid's club, Yaowaluck ("Lucky"- amazing cabin steward) and Head waiters, Joel, Roy and Welly. However, v disappointed with the layout of the ship, especially since the ship has recently ...

We were excited to go on the Carnival Spirit once again (this was our 3rd time with Carnival). Things started off rocky when we were advised that one of our ports Mare would not be visited due to ship maintenance. We got a $50 per person credit on our accounts but was looking forward to going there as i haven't been there yet. Once on board it was a pleasurable experience, The ship was ...

Insufficient Facilities for the Number of Passengers

Chose this cruise as we wanted a New Year getaway and have done the same trip on Legend and enjoyed it. Elaboration and disembarkation were fat, professionally and seamless. Cabin was fine. We only slept there so we didn't need anything fancy. A lot of the same stuff as Legend. Lidocaine deck, Serenity Pool, Red Frog Pub, etc. Food seemed to be just a little poorer than last time but ...

Good family ship

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Spirit

We were part of a large family group on this cruise. The ship is well setup for families with teens and younger children, and being a holiday cruise there were lots of them - everywhere! You have to keep in mind, Carnival is a 3 star cruise line, so don't expect the same level of service and amenity you might get with other " relatives" of the Carnival family. However, it is definitely ...
