As avid cruisers, we had a world trip organised from Feb-Oct 2020, which includes 7 cruises. We even started up our own blog for the trip thriftydrifting.com . A week before our first cruise was to depart our home in Fremantle, WA, the cruise was cancelled ( due to Covid19) , with everything going haywire quickly we had a few weeks up our sleeves so quickly booked in on back to back Cruises on ...

We really enjoyed the people we met. The ship is fantastic, with a friendly crew. The shipboard experience was good. Lots to do, trivia, lectures, activities. The dinning was, as expected, very good. With lots of good choices meals and the buffets. We were okay with the initial change in itinerary, adding two overnights in Vanuatu. We understood that we could not get off in Neumea because ...

First time cruiser and a little disappointed.

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Splendor

Decided that as this was a fun ship we would take our youngest daughter and eldest grandson with us. We were so looking forward to the experience but unfortunately we were a little underwhelmed. The colour scheme of the ship reminded us of Willy Wonka - tacky. We were advised four days before the cruise that the Isle of Pines was not allowing cruise ships to dock. (Coronavirus). We were diverted ...

Not many people I spoke to could access the web site to do the on line check in,before we sailed. Web site told everyone to arrive at terminal at noon, so we spent more than two hours lined up before we got on board, some of that time it rained, lucky for us only drizzle. Web site definitely needs to fixed. Cabin and food good,Lido service area a bit cramped at times. We had two ...

Nothing to rave - even for first timer

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Splendor

I think this carnival cruise is pretentious type. I was not really impressed with their buffet menu, especially their breakfast. They have app to check the program, where to eat and chat with other passengers. Unfortunately, for chatting feature was not working most of the time for us so it was a waste of time. The breakfast are flat and boring. Sometimes in their app showing that their buffet is ...

For many years we have wanted to visit south pacific islands and had finally settled on a 14 night fiji and pacific islands. First of all, through no fault of RCL, the itinerary was changed due to the coronavirus the itinerary was changed. We had a rear facing junior suite which was spacious but dated with a limited view but was nice as a retreat when we didnt want to be beside the noisy pool ...

We did a 10 day cruise out of Sydney Australia to the South Pacific. We chose Radiance of the Seas for the departure date and itinerary offered. Unfortunately this itinerary started changing immediately after we booked (prior to Coronavirus) and continued changing right through our cruise. Understandably we were on the ship with week Coronavirus starting making news and quarantining other ships ...

Poor for Adults, Great for Kids

This cruise was very average and nothing to recommend people on, most of the staff are fantastic (and completely over-worked). The ship was OK but looking poorly for a twelve year old ship, and the layout as good once you got accustomed. Hygiene is not Carnival strong point, so you have to be pro-active here as most of the passengers are not. The Good: -The kids facilities are good, the ...

Splendor is a maze to navigate

This was our 7th Cruise and we chose Splendor because it was supposedly refurbished and we enjoyed Spirit so much. I believe a cruise is what your make of it and we enjoyed ourselves, but somethings were disappointing. The ships decor I think is very ugly unfortunately, ceilings very low and areas very dark. The glass lifts are like walking into a hallway very narrow. Overall the ship is very ...

My husband and I aged 54 and 52 had an interior room on deck 6 (6376) for a 9 day South Pacific cruise at a total cost of $83 per day each, now thats exceptional value. As the old saying goes "You get what you pay for". The ship overall look is older style with very gaudy decor, clashing colours and overall ugliness in some areas. "You get used to it". Stateroom was a good size clean ...
