Oddity of the Seas

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

The trip would be interesting because we had not been on one of the bigger RC ships to date and also it would be a sample of how Vanuatu and New Caledonia were shaping up after the over two years with no cruise passengers and their money. Things were ominous at Sydney Terminal when we were handed a sheet of paper advising that Mystery Island was cancelled because of wharf repairs. The rumour ...

Save your money and go on a quality ship

This was our first P&O cruise. The photos of the newly refurbished ship were impressive but once on board, it looked very different to the photos. The refurbished carpets & bars were beautiful however they should have at the very least recarpeted the whole ship. Mismatched dagggy old carpets throughout hallways, foyers and staterooms joined onto the new carpet which made the refurbishment ...

I was lucky, no charge to me as I filled in for absent guest. Dining was My Time for evening meals in the Black Pearl restaurant forward deck 3 & Golden Pearl for breakfast rear of deck 3. Breakfast I always enjoy, same order every day, evening meal pretty ordinary but plenty of it, probably about bistro club standard, no silver service here. The dinner meals must have been a bit slow being ...

3rd trip on Explorer since start up..so was interested to see how it had changed. Ship has rust all over hull and is a bad site to see, must be short of paint and staff I guess. We were to go to Port Arthur but weather stopped this so had two days in Hobart, and yes weather was not so good on second day with showers and wind especially in the morning, luckily first day not so bad so most ...

This is our second cruise on this ship since Covid (although we had been on it many times under the Princess flag) We knew what to expect and the experience was similar to our last voyage except this one had a pot day. Food offering was similar to the June cruise, however the MDR food was hot. The choices were the same but I found the meal was more enjoyable by have more of the appetisers and ...

3 night Comedy Cruise to nowhere Many time cruisers on many different ships and cruise lines. Cruised with P and O once prior. Expectations were not high and in some areas this cruise exceeded and others very let down. Fine for 3 nights. Would need to lift their game for longer. This cruise was all about our 11 year old granddaughter and for her it was wonderful. Ship decor...absolutely ...

Desperate for a cruise

We have sailed on P&O many times in the past and have always had a reasonable time. We don't expect much on a P&O cruise and therefore we are sometimes surprised. Likes. I like the way the ship has been decorated, although some or the seats look better than the experience of sitting in them. But overall I liked the feel. The crew were great as usual. I liked the idea of the specialty ...

This cruise was the first one back and I was so eager to get back on a cruise ship. I cruised solo on this trip. I have to confess that P&O aren't my favourite cruiseline, but after 27 months since my last cruise, I felt I had to be on this one. And I am glad I did. The atmosphere and crew were awesome. It was heavenly to feel the motion of the sea once more. Service was good, BUT I ...

Lack of information

This was our third trip on voyager and we felt that due to the corona virus issues we should have been kept far more informed than we were. Seven sea days was a joke especially as the ship could have returned to Australian port prior to the 14 day self isolation bane was brought in. Our junior suite was certainly not what I would have called clean let alone sanitised. We regularly had no room ...

Overpriced and Noisy

My Wife and I had time off organised and we hadn't been on a cruse since we were both 19, so this was our chance to to try cruising again. Ports of call were out of Royal Caribbean's control, due to Covid-19. My major complaint is the up-selling that takes place as soon as your board the ship. We found the price of alcohol on a supposed duty free ship out of this world. I was drinking ...
