We decided to book this cruise at the last minute, we were lucky to get a cabin! We booked a balcony room and we were given a Junior suite which was a lovely surprise. We really loved the suite it was spacious and the walk in wardrobe was excellent, and we got priority boarding as well which was also a great treat. We had sunny weather for the entire trip, my favorite stops were Mystery ...

Time to lift your game HAL

We had sailed with HAL on 3 previous cruises. We chose this cruise for the itinerary and had just been on Celebrity Solstice six weeks prior to this one and so comparisons between them were fresh in our minds. Where Solstice is clean crisp lines with what we thought were much higher ceilings, Noordam is lower ceiling, less open spaces, fine arts but darkened lounge areas. Noordam did not ...

Kids loved every aspect of this holiday as did I. The water slides were obviously a massive hit.. The water park great for my 6 yr old ASD boy.. Pools were pretty cold but no-one seemed to mind that as the spa just beside came to good use..especially after 10pm. Food FANTASTIC.. elegant dining night was a real treat for us. Icecream & Pizza on offer 24/7 was a dream come true for my 11 yr ...

Of fourteen cruises this was my third with HAL. It was nice to renew our acquaintance after a five year hiatus. I'm happy to say that HAL have maintained their high standard, mostly. More on that later. We came down to Sydney by train and four of us took a taxi from Central to White Bay. I was amazed at how much luggage space was available in the hybrid Toyota, it all went in the back, no bags ...

Background and embarkation We chose this cruise as we had been to New Guinea only once and the ports appeared interesting. and it has been on our list for some time. The other reason for choosing this cruise being to experience the Noordam, we had previously cruised on her sister ship “Oosterdam”, a ship we were quite fond of, so we were eager to revisit this class of HAL ship again. We ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to have Christmas and New Year on a cruise and the HAL had been recommended by some American friends. We had a wonderful surprise when we were upgraded from a SS midship to a Neptune suite at the back of the ship.A really big cabin with an L shaped veranda at the back. Having access to the Neptune lounge was a plus, the 2 concierges could not have been ...

This was my fifth cruise. First time with HAL. Booked at last minute due to price and itinerary. Booked a guarantee VH verandah cabin and received a VC cabin on deck 5. Very happy with cabin. Loved that the cabin came with full length bathrobes and Ellis products and bar fridge that actually worked. Bed very comfy and stewards worked hard to keep cabin spotless. Aircon worked well. Had ...

Best holiday for a person on their own

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Carnival Spirit

I chose this cruise because it was sailing out of Sydney and I have always wanted to do that. It was also going to New Caledonia where I haven't been before. It was my first cruise experience and I was a little nervous about doing it on my own. It was the most social holiday I have had on my own. I must have spoken with 50 people at various times during the cruise. The overall experience was ...

Not bad but getting old

We were offered a very good deal which included Balcony, airfares and $500 spending money at a travel agents mini expo otherwise we wouldn't have chosen to do this cruise. We found it very relaxing but wouldn't want to be on there during school holidays. Eat in the Dining room for breakfast and dinner, staff were fantastic and very talented - the nightly show in the dining room was sometimes ...

Saw an advertised “special deal” on Carnival - $749 for 8 nights so wanted to see if we would enjoy a longer cruise in possibly a different region with them. Food in restaurant, service and staff excellent. Ship was kept spotlessly clean. Cabin 4118 was spacious and our Cabin Steward, Ketut, maintained the room to a very high standard. He addressed us by name at all times, enquired about ...
