The bad first - Covid and health protocols were lacking. Nobody checked us on embarkation and Covid did make it aboard. Thankfully we avoided it. There are few hand wash stations abound the buffet and nobody checking. Too many people picking food with their hands instead of using the utensils provided.
Only two launderettes on board. and one was closed and only two washing machines available ...
we cruised with another couple which always makes the trip more interesting and fun.
Ship was generally fine, but with a few strange sections, like the Dragon Lady being accessable only from rear of ship.
Cruise Director Rory and Jarad were fantastic and really made the cruise fun.
We purchased a refreshment package for $25 and it was good value.
Restaurants ( free) were all great ...
First Cruise on Carnival Splendor since Covid, bit of step back from Celebrity Eclipse few weeks back, but hey the price difference says it all.
This was a transferred from a transfer etc from Covid so I was happy Carnival gave us spending money so we could sit back and have some drinks etc. yippie.
I think it is easier just to list what I thought was good and not so good.
Good - ...
There were many things to recommend about the trip/ ship, but a few things you should know.
First, the good. The entertainment was pretty great. My cabin was just fine. The specialty restaurants had great food. The buffet was pretty good. The acupuncturist seemed excellent. A couple of the parties were very fun and memorable - like the one for crossing the equator - blackness all ...
Our experience with Carnival was very good, that's why we decided to go on 10 Days cruise around Pacific Islands - march 2023.
Cabin, food, restaurants, was all as we would remember from the previous experience.
Entertaiment, however - very poor, nothing good, boring and cheap.
We purchased an apple watch (another remainder to ourselves - not to buy staff like this on the ...
Hey there, It took me a while to write this review as I had to calm down and make sure I was in the right frame of mind to write my review. For those of you that are diehard Oceania cruiser’s, sorry but you’re truly missing the boat. I planned my cruise for almost a full year as it was a Bucket list cruise (can never afford to do this Cruise again). Sydney to the South Pacific, wish I could say it ...
So I decided to do a three day cruise for my 60th Birthday with my friend, overall cruise was good. Staff in the dining area were very good so was the food and most staff friendly. We were in a spa Balcony and enjoyed the perks very much, variety of food in the Lido was minimal but the pizza was amazing, our cabin 1016 was clean and tidy although cabins are cleaned once a day only.
TV was so ...
Quite a few years ago we took a trip to PNG on the Golden Princess. It was a tired old ship and with its bird beak bow, rear end that made it look like a shopping trolley and a bridge held up by two poles it looked a rather comical. Also it was a bit of a rabbit warren and had a small badly designed buffet area.
Two and a half years ago we noticed that P&O Australia had a cruise planned for PNG ...
Although the crew were fantastic, the ship is in poor form. It really is rough around the edges which is interesting since P&O had 2 years to sort it. Parts of the ship decks inside and outside stink of a sewerage or waste type odour. Since sailing on the Pacific Sun, Jewel, Pearl & Aria, there is a substantial lack of activities - unless you are interested in bingo and trivia every 3 hours. ...
There were some good and some bad aspects to the cruise experience, overall P&O are providing a service and product reflective of their expected or anticipated guests and not aiming at 5 star levels for any of their services and price point.
The SHIP - overall liked the ship and the facilities generally provided onboard, much better and more cosy than the Allure of the Seas - mega ship, the ...
