The Radiance was a big disappointment

We chose the Radiance because of its itinerary in New Zealand and Australia and because of the good experiences we have had on several other Royal Caribbean ships. Unfortunately, our experience on the Radiance fell well below our previous Royal Caribbean cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Overall, the ship seemed to have many issues that need correcting, including the menu choices ...

Very good but could be better

We sailed on RCCL’s Radiance of the Seas for 28 days from January 3 to 31, 2018. This was two 14-day back-to-back cruises that took us from Australia to New Caledonia, Fiji, Tonga, both islands of New Zealand, and back to Australia. First let me say that the ship’s staff and managers worked very hard to please. Airline employees are experts at saying “no,” while RCCL’s employees try very hard ...

Bit boring at night.

We were looking forward to a fun, party type atmosphere like we have had recently on Explorer, Rhapsody and Celebrity Solstice. Those ships had dancing almost every night to a really uptempo band playing great dance music and there was either a party in the public area or the nightclub was pumping. This voyage had a largely young to youngish age group looking to have fun at night but the ...

Could have been nice but ended badly

Old but correct ship partially renovated. Service on board was a little bit to festive or let's say relax even if attendants where nice. No touch of class compare to other ships. We had an excellent room attendant on our 10 th deck. We are not young people even if in good shape and we were travelling with our grand daughter that dreamed on this cruise and overall enjoyed. Stateroom for three ...

Expected better.

The ship is getting a little old, so they say, and some of the activities on newer, larger ships are just not here. There was not a decent water slide, except a tiny one for the kiddies' pool. On Carnival, by contrast, I had a great time as a 47-year-old on the Green Thunder. That's the kind of inclusion that RCI needs on more of its ships. Embarkation and disembarkation were very easy. ...

Great Christmas & New Years Cruise

I choose to do this crusie as I wanted to do my own thing for Christmas and New Years. The Interna Stateroom was fantastic couldn't fault it in anyway except the fridge didn't work but I didn't need to use it. The embarkation and the disembarkation was the smoothest run part of the cruise. Unfortunately they Port disembarkation was a disaster, at Arkura we waited 2 hours for the tenders to ...

Chose this cruise because we had never cruised to Adelaide before. Travelled in a Grand Suite with my wife and adult sister, we also has long time friends on board. Stayed in Sydney for three days in an apartment at Darling Harbour so no stress with flight times. Had a great time exploring the many attractions on ond off the water, had a great burger at Betty’s Burger near the convention ...

A lovely way to travel!

We wanted a short cruise in order to relax before the stresses of Christmas. We certainly found the right one to do it! Although we left Sydney late, due to someone being disembarked because of illness, the cruise was very relaxing, exactly what we needed! The only "bad" thing was our room steward who was either new or very disorganised, as our room, some mornings, took a long time to be made up. ...

Amazing New Zealand

Chose this cruise because it sailed around both Islands. I have never been to the South Island before. I caught up with Mum in Tauranga. A cousin in Wellington and a brother Christchurch. I love Wellington. The South Island is amazing to see, different scenery to the North and in some ways a different culture. The South Island appears to be More English in culture. The ship itself, ...

Second cruise, same ship

The check-in went like clockwork in regards to Royal Caribbean. The security checks were a joke. No coordination, no regards to anyone. We were treated like slabs of meat on a conveyor belt. This was our second cruise on this ship. We did not notice so much on the first cruise but this time we noticed it was buy, buy, buy every day. Buy this, buy that, get this, get that, non stop. For us it ...
