Price gouging every opportunity

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

The crew staff was great The captain is a rambler and does not till you the truth Food was good but the menu was not extensive changing The ion shore trips are twice the price for the same trip if you pay on board The drinks package was a total rip off as are the bar prices $15 for a beer after a 18% tip and exchange rate. The exchange rate the ship gives you is poor All ...

Declining standards

We did the same cruise this time last year and are quite experienced cruisers, diamond plus. The ship is still quite attractive. Good points—- The Diamond and Concierge club benefits are still good and both hosts efficient The food is acceptable althoughMDR lunches a bit boring. Windjammer probably better for lunch. Breakfasts were good in MDR. The Filipino, Indonesian and Indian staff ...

Ship needs to be retired or refurbished

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

My husband and I were on the recent reposition cruise from Australia to Honolulu. We usually love RC and are Diamond (now Diamond Plus) members. This ship is in a run down condition. One of the main elevators was not working over half the time causing a log jam at the elevators. In our cabin, the sink was cracked, and hot water was seldom available. Rust was prevalent almost everywhere. ...

Trans-Pacific cruise as ships relocated to US Northwest. Normal RCI quality, i.e. excellent food and quality staff. We we disappointed that Rita’s restaurant has been closed as we used to enjoy sitting out eating guacamole / chips and sharing the grande margarita with friends (it would be nice to be able to get a pitcher of margaritas for sharing but bartender thought it was mitigate ...

Very Dissatisfied

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

I loved New Zealand, scenery was beautiful, that was the only good part of my trip. This ship is old, smelly & tired looking. The water slides & climbing wall advertised were only open for an hour once a day on port days and an hour twice a day on sea days so it was near impossible to use these amenities unless you wanted to line up for a couple of hours for one go - not my idea of fun. My ...

First time ocean cruisers and it probably be our last. Travelled Royal Caribbean – Radiance of the Seas. No complaints with either the food or the room. Unfortunately, due to rough seas, outdoor experiences were not available for the days across to New Zealand and a day returning to Australia. Oh well, plenty to keep you entertained within the ship. The infrequent and non-current movies. ...

Embarkation not to much of a problem. Everything went down hill after that. Service at the bars extremely slow gave up waiting after 10 mins of being ignored while bar attendents having private conversation. Cabin very small bed extremely uncomfortable to the point of not being able to get a decent sleep food very poor standard deserts tasteless enertainment a shambles and of very poor standard ...

A birthday party that started badly with a three hour entry. A casacade dining experience where we couldnt sit with birthday group. Poor restuarant food so paid extra for dinners. Public areas were so brightly lit and loud. I never found a nice quiet place with a musican to sit and relax. Entertainment was the best part of the cruise. Dining staff in main restuatant were ran off their feet as ...

Disappointing Cruise

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We selected RCL because we’ve sailed with them in the past & liked the Sydney roundtrip to NZ itinerary. We felt the cruising would be relaxing & a good change from our earlier busy Australian driving adventure. In retrospect we feel we should have chosen to fly to NZ, hired a car or done a bus tour in order to see more of this lovely country. The voyage to & fro consumed a total of 4 days ...

The Radiance was a big disappointment

We chose the Radiance because of its itinerary in New Zealand and Australia and because of the good experiences we have had on several other Royal Caribbean ships. Unfortunately, our experience on the Radiance fell well below our previous Royal Caribbean cruises in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Overall, the ship seemed to have many issues that need correcting, including the menu choices ...
