Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

This cruise was about experiencing a wide range of ports in Australia and New Zealand. The itinerary achieved this goal beautifully. The concierge club provided lots of fun while chatting with fellow cruisers. This carried over as we saw these same people at activities throughout the ship. The fellow cruisers were very friendly resulting in a very pleasant experience. Overall, the staff were ...

We wanted to see Australia as a continent. I would have prefered to start and stop at Sydney. Embarkation was dreadful as there was only machine for 2200 people to walk thru for security. We waited on line for an hour and a half. Never before has that happened in all our years of cruising. At Port Headland, they did not have enough buses and at a cost of A$25 extra. The wait to get of ...

It was part of a package deal with Indian Pacific Rail trip, time in Sydney and able to cruise to home port (Darwin). We have mostly cruised with Princess line and therefore found RC to be lacking in the little things that you miss, like moisturizer, having to ask for soaps, bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Cannot fault cabin steward nor dining room staff in their attendance to their ...

We were first time cruisers and only did the back to back because of the itinerary. Back to back was Australia top end & New Zealand, was sick and tired of constant up selling, the put the drinks prices up mid cruise by around 12% probably due to the bars being almost empty after 10.30pm. Took ages to get onboard & kicked off at 8.15am. Excursions were vastly overpriced. Food in the ...

Disappointing in so many ways, tenders, poor food quality, constant hard sell.

We're to begin, the boarding was the first disappointment, so looking forward to boarding at circular quay with the bridge and the Opera house within touching distance. No, we had to make the trip right around to other side to board the tender. What a mess that was in the heat, basically took us all day. Then on board the pressure started to buy drinks and specialty dining where ever we went. ...

Disappointing Cruise

After making the final payment on our Cruise we were informed that we would board the Ship in Sydney Harbor via tenders instead of the Overseas Passenger Terminal. We were told to arrive at set times based on the deck our cabin was on and that the process from arrival at the terminal to ship would be a minimum of 1 hour. We'll Royal Caribbean was correct on that estimate as we finally boarded the ...

We have been cruising with Royal Caribbean for a number of years. We are platinum members for two cruise lines and have always been happy with both. However this last cruise was not as we have enjoyed on previous cruises. We had excellent table service but the quality of food was not what we were expecting. Prawn cocktails, scallops, we're not on the menu? The ham that was carved for breakfast was ...

Having just had a wonderful cruise on the Independence of the Seas our expectations were high. The ship looked very nice at first glance. Our cabin though was very shabby and in need of a refurb. The carpet was grubby as were the sofa and chair. The balcony door was very difficult to open due in part to the dirt and muck accumulated in the track. We could hardly open it and after reporting it to ...

A chance to see Australia and New Zealand on 2 back to back cruises . Overall a pleasant experience and the captain was considerate in avoiding bad weather which unfortunately meant that we missed all the ports in NZ South Island . No I would not travel on Radiance again . It needs smartening up and the rooms are dated with plastic shower curtains that stick to you in the small shower . Carpets ...

It was our first cruise and we travelled with a group of 6 couples and kids from 2-17 yrs. we liked the social aspect of traveling with friends but found the food, entertainment and activities didn't meet our expectations. I guess having paid for a family 2 bedrooms suite meant we had high expectations! From the first moments arriving on the ship and having to fight to get a table for lunch, then ...
