Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Emerald Princess

We had never been to Australia or the South Pacific. We were sailing on a repositioning cruise on the Emerald in 2015 when Princess had a promotion of a free room upgrade (within class), free specialty dining, and free gratuities. The free gratuities on a 29-day cruise was the deal clincher. This was our 10th cruise on the Emerald but our first in an interior cabin. We found the onboard ...

Apologies for the delay in writing this review. We cruised as a family of 4, myself and husband, mid 40s and two children, an 11yo and 15yo. We chose and booked this cruise about 1.5 years before sailing, as we found a fantastic deal with good OBC. It was our 2nd cruise, and first with Princess Cruises. Our first was with Royal Caribbean. We chose Princess as we just wanted to compare and ...

Sydney to New Zealand East Coast

For us to go to Sydney Austrailia and sail New Zeland was a trip of a life time.  We went 1/2 way around the world.   While Princess has no control over who sails with them there is a demographic of people who make the cruise uncomfortable.  They push and shove and cut in line and just generally misbehave in relation to western standards of behavior.  And it is not just Australia where you find ...

Great ports. Princess tours were much better than usual. We also used Shore Tours for most of our private tours. Nigel coordinated tours in 5 ports. Highly recommend the company. Food on cruise was odd. Minimal beef at dinner. Numerous dinners were mainly fish and vegetarian, with no beef even on daily menu. Same hamburger for every dinner. No cheesecake on everyday menu or pasta ...

Our second NZ cruise. One different port ,Picton. Enjoyed onboard activities, did our own thing for tours, found most onboard offered tours too expensive. Food was excellent, we dined any time, buffet and dining room. Entertainment was excellent and kept us amused. This was the largest cruise ship we have been on so we were surprised at the crowds when anything was on, ie, shopping sales, ...

Very nice ship but food not so good

This was a once in a life time cruise for us. A chance to see 2 very far away countries, Australia and New Zealand. The ship and crew were very good. Embarkation and debarkation process were very timely and ran smoothly. Entertainment was excellent. Food, especially in the Horizon Court, was inferior. Numerous items were not hot and sometimes just barely warm. Many times items were ...

Wanted to cruise from Australia and had never visited these areas. Started our holiday with two nights in Sydney at the Phillip Street Travelodge. Excellent location and easy to get to Cruise Port. We have previously cruised on the Golden Princess out of San Pedro and this ship was very similar in size. It did seem a little more crowded at times but we always found plenty of areas to enjoy. ...

Good cruise, ship of high quality appointments, entertainment good, weather a bit average, food good, service ok. Did this cruiser at a special price, half price deal, to celebrate Wedding anaversary, have been to the islands before, very humid weather, ok on the ship. Enjoyed overall cruise, stage shows and dancers were very good, entertainment staff were very good, all venues were good, art ...

This was a cruise that has been on our bucket list for years. We took the Princess Cruisetour. Land tour of Australia and then cruised New Zealand. Do land tour first because it is a very active tour. You get a couple days rest after on Cruise ship. We were a bit disappointed that Princess changed the itinerary on the Land tour portion of Australia 6 weeks before we cruised. We missed a Port ...

We are Platinum members on Princess Cruises and this was our first trip to Australia and New Zealand. We choose Princess for a number of reasons, in no particular order, the 250 minutes of free internet for both of us being Platinum members. The laundry rooms on the ship, as after the cruise we were staying another 9 nights. In the past our experience on Princess was very good. We chose this ...
