I was only on the Arcadia for a 3 day trip Syd to Bris.
Solo traveller paid $1000 for 3 nights in deluxe balcony cabin.
Cabin was nice, although I really had to twist the Steward's arm to
get a white robe.
Food in Belverede (Buffet) was like Boarding School - small display and not
very appertising
Food in Main Dining Room was either great or average.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If only we had done the research first! Our cruise from Sydney to Southampton started with a very long queue, despite having "priority" boarding as suite passengers. We joined the world cruise in Sydney with about 1000 others. It does seem a tad disappointing fore 'around the world' cruisers that they have so many fairly transient passengers with them. The standard of the food was excellent as was the service we received in the Meridaian restaurant. The cabin steward also provided excellent service.

On the positive side we enjoyed nearly all of the ports of call. Our main disappointment was with P&O and its declining levels of service. The Carnival corporation is making changes each time we travel with P&O, which is most years. We had never travelled with this line before but as this cruise from Sydney to Southampton through the Suez was on our bucket list, we packed our formal wear and headed off to Sydney to join our ship Arcadia.
Embarkation
We had an easy boarding as we arrived mid afternoon and were on board and into our cabin C129 by 3pm.

We embarked Arcadia on 9 March, 2012 in Sydney, enroute to Southampton on 27 April. Embarkation was easy, staff receptive. NOTE: 10 of my previous cruises have been on Princess ships. We got a very good deal from our agent $100 per day pp.
