Queen bed. Note the drawers on the right. They could not open the whole way because they were so close to the bed.

"So the best set up for the space is a single bed and a bunk bed.But no real space so the person on the lower bunk feels very closed in and very difficult getting in and out of bed...."Read More

3rd trip on Explorer since start up..so was interested to see how it had changed. Ship has rust all over hull and is a bad site to see, must be short of paint and staff I guess. We were to go to Port Arthur but weather stopped this so had two days in Hobart, and yes weather was not so good on second day with showers and wind especially in the morning, luckily first day not so bad so most ...

This is our second cruise on this ship since Covid (although we had been on it many times under the Princess flag) We knew what to expect and the experience was similar to our last voyage except this one had a pot day. Food offering was similar to the June cruise, however the MDR food was hot. The choices were the same but I found the meal was more enjoyable by have more of the appetisers and ...

3 night Comedy Cruise to nowhere Many time cruisers on many different ships and cruise lines. Cruised with P and O once prior. Expectations were not high and in some areas this cruise exceeded and others very let down. Fine for 3 nights. Would need to lift their game for longer. This cruise was all about our 11 year old granddaughter and for her it was wonderful. Ship decor...absolutely ...

We have sailed on P&O many times in the past and have always had a reasonable time. We don't expect much on a P&O cruise and therefore we are sometimes surprised. Likes. I like the way the ship has been decorated, although some or the seats look better than the experience of sitting in them. But overall I liked the feel. The crew were great as usual. I liked the idea of the specialty ...

This cruise was the first one back and I was so eager to get back on a cruise ship. I cruised solo on this trip. I have to confess that P&O aren't my favourite cruiseline, but after 27 months since my last cruise, I felt I had to be on this one. And I am glad I did. The atmosphere and crew were awesome. It was heavenly to feel the motion of the sea once more. Service was good, BUT I ...

Our family of 4 had a 5 nights cruise to Tasmania. Both the embarkation and disembarkation were quite smooth. The public area of the ship is nice, but the cabin shows its age. We had a inside cabin. This was the first time for me to be in an inside cabin, so can't compare with other ships, but to me it is really small and there was no room to store our suitcases. I enjoyed the food at Angelo, ...

Disappointing cruise

It was advertised as a Bounty Adventure, to follow the route taken by the mutineers from the Bounty after they put Bligh and some onto a whaling boat. We visited Norfolk Island, two places of Tonga including Nuku'alofa, three for Fij but only two were possible due to high winds for Dravuni Island, we were able to visit Port Denarau and Suva before our final stop at Noumea. We had a descendent ...

True Cost of Cruising

The following includes some activities/pitfalls to avoid or be aware of on P&O cruises overall the Pacific Explorer was a fun ship with some great people looking after you but P&O need to supplement their discounted fares so be aware they are not happy just charging the cruise price they need to extract more to remain profitable. I’d estimate based upon prices and upsell pressure their looking at ...

What is that terrible smell ?

It was a Dark Mofo 6 night mid-winter escape to Hobart that caught my eye. To Tasmania in the middle of winter ? Yeah why not. I have fond memories of the Dawn Princess but not very good memories of some of P&O Australia's "new" (old) ships. I thought my experience on the Pacific Eden' inaugural trip from Fremantle to Sydney a couple of years ago would have cured me from every going near ...
