Very Disappointing

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Ruby Princess

I wanted to visit the islands in this itinerary after many years, but found that many should not have been included. Nothing to do except have a massage or have your hair braided on the beach. What a waste of port time. The ship is very rusty and for a ship just 11 years old it is poorly maintained. My Premium balcony was rusted all along the top and bottom. I thought the ship has been ...

I returned home today from a 8 night 9 day cruise to the South Pacific, on probably day 3 our living hell began, two women who myself and my children did not know only from bumping in to while I was on the smoking deck began to abuse me and stalk Harass intimidate and bully us , the women abused us so badly in the formal dining room my 12 year old daughter almost vomited all over the table she ...

we chose this cruise in order to familiarize ourselves with this ship as we have booked next cruise from NZ on the 30th of December Embarkation went smooth taken only 15 minutes to be on board. Cabin was very comfortable. Traditional dining at the Botticelli restaurant was good however for access you have to go to deck 7 walk towards the back of the ship then down to deck 6. or walk on ...

The cruise to Tasmania was what I had been wanting to do .Princess was far superior to the p@o cruise I took a year ago.Food Cabin Entertainment Staff everything was much better .The food in the bistro was restaurant quality. The on shore excursion choices were very good variety and value for money. On board entertainment offered something for everyone. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Very ...

We cruise majority p@o from sydney-couple mid 50s in age Stepping onboard the ruby was like entering a hilton hotel in comparision to a glorified rsl club in australia that is p@o onboard at 12 noon ,,then lunch, room avaliable at 1 p.m.smoothest start ever for me ruby is a real gem,so many spaces to explore, the different themed rooms have plenty of seating, and nice touchs of ...

Sadly lacking

We expected a lot more based on the past experiences related to us by friends and family. The room service menu left a lot to be desired even when they delivered what we ordered, which was about 10% of the time. You can't get toast with breakfast even if you ask for it! Our room was a tired shade of beige, with both lampshades conspicuously held together by sticky tape. I can only assume the ...

Terrible for people under the age of 70 or younger kids

If you are under the age of 60 and love to have a great time, laugh, drink, socialise and be entertained then this cruise is NOT for you. It was 95% retirees over the age of 70. The activities and entertainment were designed to entertain the same age bracket. We are in our 30/40s and found the activities boring and the demographics were way too old. There was not even any background music playing ...

Awful, nasty experience. Jeez where do I start?? I will dot point.. * the room had ONE power point. That's all. Called guest services and asked for an extension cord as I have a cpap machine. They didn't know what an extension cord was. * The so called lemonade is lemon cordial, the iced tea was a really strange flavour. Coffee from the machine was actually undrinkable... it was like ...

What we liked: 1)Spotless ship with obvious attention to detail and a crew focused on cleanliness. 2)Great crew who worked hard to please. Some going out of their way to do so. 3)Above average(in some cases excellent)food. Luminae,Blu,and Murano excellent. 4)Excellent gym, both in size and equipment. What we didn't like: 1)Constant selling of Beverage and specialty dining ...

Having cruised both NCL & Princess I was interested to see how Celebrity compared. First to the good points. Well decorated and very modern with clean lines, staff 10/10 both friendly and there when you needed them. The buffet was the best we’ve had on ships so far, both in variety and quality of food. Our cabin was well set out and comfortable bedding. The only specialty restaurant we went to was ...
