Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Emerald Princess

We are Platinum members on Princess Cruises and this was our first trip to Australia and New Zealand. We choose Princess for a number of reasons, in no particular order, the 250 minutes of free internet for both of us being Platinum members. The laundry rooms on the ship, as after the cruise we were staying another 9 nights. In the past our experience on Princess was very good. We chose this ...

We chose Princess Lines because we were not happy with another cruise line we had sailed on twice before and this time we were definitely not disappointed . Embarkation and disembarkation was well organised and staff were friendly .We chose a balcony cabin ,mid ship on Aloha Deck which suited our needs perfectly . Good size cabin and balcony and bathroom was adequate . Loved the clothes storage ...

We had a good time but the ports were a disappointment despite having visited them before. We took this cruise because we had such a good time on a similar itinerary a year ago. We had to skip Mystery Island. It was too rough for the ship to get into the bay....The fault of the weather? I question that because the Emerald skipped it last time it was here too. Either the ship is too large for this ...

Emerald has lost its sparkle

We first cruised the Emerald in 2008 and found it to be a lovely ship. We have since sailed with Princess many times and have logged over 100 days at sea. We weren't after waterslides and dodgems, just a lovely seat by a quiet pool, a comfortable balcony room, and some great destinations. It was still NSW school holidays (just), and rather than limit children to one of the four pools they ...

A Ship For All Lifestyles

Yes, there were long queues at embarkation but it's a world wide issue as port authorities ignore the need to rethink the embarkation process/facilities. All cruise lines are limited by the design of the terminals. Port authorities need to allow for multiple entry points to the ships instead of funnelling thousands of passengers into one entry point. Enough said. Once on board, the Princess ...

Where is Princess Cruises going!

I have 30+ years of cruising history with various cruise lines and ships of all sizes of which Princess Cruises has always been a favourite. This last cruise on the Emerald was a display of where a once great cruise line can come from and then end up. Since the take over by Carnival PTY approx. 15 years ago, Princess Cruises has now sunk to the lowest levels. The company now must have the ...

I have just completed back to back cruises on the emerald princess which by far were the best cruises we have done .they were cruise 16 and 17 for us so we are not newbies to cruising and have sampled many different cruise lines and ships.Ithink the thing that pleased us the most about emerald was its layout. The size of the ship is perfect for the amount of passengers without the long lines we ...

Average Cruise with Princess

I had a good cruise but it was not as relaxing as other Princess cruises I have done due to it being in the school holidays and the fact that they had unruly feral children aboard that were allowed to disrupt and spoil other peoples cruise experience by running, jumping, somersaulting and bombing into the swimming pools. As an adult the only time you could swim without children hassling you was in ...

Fantastic Family Holiday

We chose this cruise because it was during school holidays and the departure from Sydney was easy for us. Last January we cruised with Princess out of Singapore and enjoyed it so much decided to go again. The 11 night South Pacific Islands Cruise was great and we were blessed with great weather. We enjoyed having relaxing beach days on a couple of stops and also enjoyed a couple of busy days in ...

Smooth boarding no hassles quick easy. The ship is fantastic easy to find your way around. Beautiful decor comfortable chairs in bars and international cafe. Plenty of sun loungers and chairs to sit on up on deck. We had an inside cabin which was very spacious for our needs. Didn't feel cramped at all. Bathroom a bit small but adequate. The food in the dining room was very good a good ...
