25 days Sydney to Singapore via Hong Kong
"The food in the main restaurant was of a goof=d quality, but as we were on the ship for 25 days lacked a little in choice toward the end. When contemplating a cruise with Cunard get everything in writing, we spent 3 hours on the phone between NZ and Australia with the Cunard agent and decided to upgrade our stateroom to a room with an un-interrupted view, on deck 11, we were told some of deck 8 would also have these views but were promised the higher one...."Read More

The ship is magnificent, although the recent refurbishment in 2023 didn't reach all the staterooms( not allowed to call them cabins), the carpet in our room was badly stained. When contemplating a cruise with Cunard get everything in writing, we spent 3 hours on the phone between NZ and Australia with the Cunard agent and decided to upgrade our stateroom to a room with an un-interrupted view, on ...

QM2 Sydney to Singapore Feb. 24

My first time sailing with Cunard having sailed mainly with Royal Caribbean (14 cruises) and I was so disappointed. 1, the stateroom was nice but the balcony was stained and rusty. 2, the ship felt old and tired. 3, the shops on board catered for people who wanted expensive watches and jewellery, ladies clothes, booze and the normal Cunard material. 4, I didn’t purchase the $400+ ...

Great Cruise. Confusing Layout and Aging Infrastructure

Don't be frightened by this review. If you have already booked, you will not have a bad time on this cruise ship. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. HOWEVER, if you have not already booked, I suggest you consider another ship. The QM2 is aging and due for a re-ft later this year. There's a lot of rust and stains around deck, in restaurants and our cabin. It clearly shows the wear from all those ...

We wanted to complete an earlier world cruise, and so booked the 49 day Sydney to New York cruise. We love the QM2 and continue to love it. After the Covid pause we were a bit worried as to what shape the ship would be in, but we found it to be in good shape. Things are returning to normal. The ship was very clean, and the deck crew was putting a lot of time and effort into painting. As usual, ...

Great expectations not realised

I chose the QM2 for a taste of old world, traditional cruising British style (a 14-day cruise Sydney-Singapore) with four expected shore stops, only two of which took place. A cyclone prevented one shore visit (entirely understandable) and a right royal mess up (for which Cunard would accept no responsibility) prevented the other. For this, we were compensated with a bottle of red wine and a ...

Cunard trading on passed glory, only 5th cruise but very disappointing.

We chose this cruise as was on bucket list to cruise Cunard thinking it would be the best of the best. Embarkation painless, quick and very efficient. Cabin was clean but little shower pressure with antiquated shower curtain. Smallest bathroom we have had, no ventilation and no shaving mirror. The excursions left much to be desired, booked a lunch on a Mississippi steam ship to find when we ...

What has happened to Cunard.—— 63 days Sydney to Southampton

This is our fifth cruise on the Queen Mary 2 and this last trip was 63 days long and I really think they have lost sight on what sort of ship they are trying to have. Refinement seems to have disappeared and has been replaced with indifference. There is no contact in Sydney and speaking to someone in the Phillipines about a problem in Brisbane could not be resolved as the person on the other end ...

This was our first cruise since the ship was refitted in late 2016, just after we did the Cape Horn cruise on her. Some things are better like the Stateroom décor, the Carinthia lounge is a great improvement on the Winter Garden. I feel though that the Kings court is a great big miss. The cool white marble type décor is not in synch with the rest of the ship which has a warm colour scheme. With ...

The voyage was bought in August 2017 for a February-March 2018 Sydney to Sydney via NZ, 13 nights. The itinerary date above says Auckland 9 nights, wasn't an option as Auckland was off the itinerary anyway and we had two days in Tauranga instead. I enjoyed the surprise birthday present in January and that followed through with the experience. From the Captain to the waiters and cabin staff, ...

Chose this cruise, Sydney to Hong Kong on QM2 to get a sample of Cunard Line, not so much the ports. Always been on my bucket list to try QM2. Embarkation in Sydney was very good, efficient, only had to wait half an hour to embark. The ship was magnificent, like new after refurbish, nicely furnished and plenty of deck space. Cabin was fine, had sheltered balcony cabin on deck 5, well ...
