We've taken 4 Celebrity cruises, 2 in the last 6 months, but probably won't take anymore. Beautiful ships, good food and great service but BORING.
I'm not sure they have the right target audience (we're in our late 60's). For example, very talented musicians play easy-listening playlists. Look at the audience; they are playing cards! Another example: they have crafts during the day but ...
The ship is lovely and the food is excellent . The entertainment was good and the staff are good.
BUT, our day in Bay of Islands was ruined by poor tender arrangements waiting 4 hours to get off the ship, 1 hour to get back on and we missed our shore excursion. Also some ports the time was too short.
Also NO drinking water in the cabins.
These 3 points did spoil our opinion of Celebrity. ...
The Edge is a beautifuly styled ship with some amazing features but it's not for me.
We had a sunset balcony cabin on deck 9 it was huge with sofa and the balcony was huge with 2 chairs, table and 1 sun louger looked after by our cabin steward Karen. We did't have a kettle in the room but we asked Karen and she got us one.
The food on board was vey good in all the main restaurants the ...
My experience started off very well but began to wain at the end. My wife and I were not met at the airport by one RC staff but by three for an individual transport to the ship's terminal. Boarding had no exceptional delays.
We retrieved our luggage ourselves from the stewards area as it had not been placed for us at the designated time. We had been in the same clothes for 28 hours and needed a ...
We were a group of 17, part of a larger group who had been traveling in Australia and New Zealand. Several wanted to visit the Great Barrier Reef, and this cruise seemed to be an easy and fun way to do it. While we are not exactly "quiet and shy" people by any means, everyone in our group was annoyed by how loud everything on this ship was. The decor was loud, the other passengers were loud, the ...
Overall: This was somewhat disappointing cruise that did not live up to the hype.
Embarkation: A breeze. Easiest boarding ever. No lines, knowledgeable people.
Cabin: We had a B-1 veranda stateroom. The room itself was fine. Flat screen TV, although not much to watch. (You could watch “Titanic” if ship disaster movies are your thing.) Adequate underbed storage for our soft-sided ...
This is our first cruise since the outbreak of Covid, and our first cruise on the Celebrity Edge. We previously cruised on the Celebrity Solstice. We boarded the Celebrity Edge at Circular Quay, Sydney. The embarkation was smooth and trouble free. No complaints whatsoever. After embarkation at approximately midday, we had lunch and drinks in the Ocean View Cafe. After lunch we explored the ...
I was nervous that the Norwegian Spirit wouldn’t be as nice an experience as Celebrity’s Equinox but it actually exceeded my expectations. Wonderful staff and service. Excellent food. Lots of fun entertainment and activities offered. Great basic drink package that included everything from martinis to Irish coffee, pina coladas and Coronas. The ship was smaller than the Equinox but nicely updated ...
Oh boy, this is my first Prince's cruise, I have been a steady Carnival cruiser for 20 years, but this trip we changed to Princess. So after 2 at sea days getting from Sydney to New Zealand, the dreaded announcement came on from our captain that the call to the Bay of Islands (1st port-of-call) was getting cancelled due to weather, namely winds about 25kts. That the Majestic couldn't hold her ...
The ship is magnificent, although the recent refurbishment in 2023 didn't reach all the staterooms( not allowed to call them cabins), the carpet in our room was badly stained. When contemplating a cruise with Cunard get everything in writing, we spent 3 hours on the phone between NZ and Australia with the Cunard agent and decided to upgrade our stateroom to a room with an un-interrupted view, on ...
