1) Norway was simply fabulous, breathtaking natural beauty! Estonia caught us off guard with its history and Tallin is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe. The Old Town sections were fascinating. We participated in all the included excursions and found them to be interesting and well organized. We purchased the Peterhoff Palace & Gardens tour for the 2nd day in St. Petersburg and ...
We chose this cruise after taking a lovely and memorable river cruise with Viking. We had wanted to visit the Baltic countries on this itinerary. We were taken care of from the time we arrived in Stockholm until we checked into the airport in Bergen. The cruise on the Baltic was as smooth as the river cruise. This surprised us, as we had been on a previous Caribbean cruise (not a Viking cruise) ...
Loved the itinerary. Viking Sun is a beautiful new ship with fabulous service, food, and included excursions. We loved the fact that there were fewer passengers. It wasn’t a cattle car that other larger cruise lines have. We loved not having young children running down the hallways like other cruise lines. No children under 18 are allowed. Highlights were the optional excursions- St ...
Our first Viking Cruise, we were drawn mostly to the Viking Homelands itinerary as these were some of the places we most wanted to visit. The included excursions were good, providing very good general background and historical, and geographical, perspective. They can be very crowded as many groups seem to run together. The purchased excursions helped avoid crowds and provided more interesting ...
The ship was fantastic. Every meal, regardless of venue was excellent as was the service throughout.
The ship (Viking Sun), one of the newer, modern designs in the Viking fleet is a perfect size. 930 passengers, never a wait or long line for any restaurant, meal or activity. Everything was extremely well organized from the first contact when booking through the weather related flight ...
We chose this Viking cruise after our wonderful Viking river cruise last year. We wanted to try an ocean cruise and the Baltic looked like the perfect opportunity. The cabins were spacious, with everyone having a veranda. Dining was diverse and excellent. The dining room staff was amazing and it was nice having multiple wine stewards. Evening entertainment was top notch and definitely worth ...
I chose this cruise because there were many different ports and countries - and it included places we have never been like St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Helsinki, Berlin, Gdansk. The service was OVER the top! Everyone went out of their way to make our cruise memorable. And although I was worried about seasickness in the Baltic, the sailing was perfect. Our cabin was much larger than we have had on ...
Past experience with Viking put them at the front of our list of cruise ship companies. Our interests were in exploring and experiencing a part of the World that we had not visited previously or to this depth. While a one destination trip will give one much greater depth of experience and understanding of a locale, a cruise such as this is excellent for giving a broader scope of a number of ...
The Baltic was an area of the world we had not visited and thought what better line than to choose Viking, Their Homeland Cruise. Every country, every port was chosen with great thought and this cruise gave us a wonderful view of the Baltic countries. The ship staff work so hard to provide us with a fabulous experience; nothing is too much for them to handle. The amenities are beyond comparison ...
Beautiful ship; staff extremely pleasant and accommodating!! Loved Entertainment especially Luis and Viking Band( not a fan of classical music).. Some of the entertainers they brought on board were not my favorites. Ship entertainment staff- very good. Great shows except forgot the Rollong Stones in the 60’s.
Liked staying over in Stockholm, St. Petersburg and Bergen. Only one day at sea was ...
